Who will be the first to discover that Sesi is Shea recorded in Sonar instead of Neundo... wait, I mean Menudo... er, Noendto[thisthreadisinsight]? NUENDO! There. Now that was funny.

just roll with it SteveJL, just roll :) seriously tho, if anything its deepened my respect for cakewalk as a company (I was about to apply for a job there before i was offered my current job about 8 months ago). The lengths that Ron has gone to, to simply rebutt some completely off-the-cuff claims shows me that they have a commitment to excellence ,and producing the best product they can. and now with keeping in the tradition of 90% of this thread: "Sonar is better than cubARSE, CRAPtion, digital UNperformer, SLOW tools, and ilLOGIC anyday!"

ORIGINAL: shea ORIGINAL: Ron Kuper [Cakewalk] I didn't receive the files yet, though it's possible my spam filter ate them Could I ask, with the highest respect, what Ron Kuper's postion in Cakewalk is? Because, I can't for the hell of me understand how anybody employed by a reputable company like Cakewalk, would have the audacity to make a reply like this to a paying customer, which was an absolute insult. I DO NOT send spam mail!! (An apology will be accepted) Shea, you've passed into fantasy lnd there. Spam filters often do 'eat' mail that they shouldn't. I've just lost some important business for that very reason, si I'm painfully aware of that, as are most people who deal with email. Ron did not accuse you of sending spam, and it is you who owes him an apology IMO.

Dude, if you're seriously comparing Nuendo to a Porsche, and Sonar to a Ford Focus, then you either haven't used Nuendo much, haven't used Sonar much, or have barely used either much. If Nuendo is a Porsche, then Sonar is a Hummer. Give me a break...

I will probably never really know, but I would bet my Granny's peg-leg that "Shea/Sesi" are one and the same. To have joined, and in one day read THIS entire thread, and then respond in a very similar vernacular as "Shea" is too many coincidences. What I wonder is, what sort of hidden connection "Shea/Sesi" has to Nuendo. It's quite obvious there is one. Where there's smoke, there's always fire. The stubborn insistence to ignore all the "facts" shows a grenade hurling agenda. But "Shea/Sesi", has not been very clever about the little ruse, so it makes me wonder what sort of agenda "it's" following, or is "it" simply starved for some attention?

I have read this debate with interest and it seems as though shea is convinced that Sonar is just not for him and the rest of us are completely positive it's the best thing since sliced bread for our needs. I would think that if you want to please your clients shea and they are more concerned with the method not the results then you can play to their wishes. I have been in the music industry quite a while and have not once let a client dictate my choice in software, hardware or equipment unless they are willing to pay for it. If someone comes to me insisting to use a particular software that I do not support, I simply understand that I cannot be all things to all people and allow them to see the door. As a producer I must work with a product that allows me maximum creative time and less tech time because a great performance is sometime a once in a lifetime event and I don't need to discover a new learning curve at this point in time. If you are sure that there is a difference in sound quality by your ear then maybe you should make the change. I, like many others that have worked with Sonar run across clients that only know ProTools and think that if it doesn't say ProTools that its not "Pro". Their chosen profession is to be a rock star and yours is to capture their sound and make them sound like rock stars. Figure out which program makes you feel confident about what you're doing and go for it. I do not believe that anyone in this forum, at Cakewalk or anywhere else will take offense to you changing software. What we all take offense to is trying to justify your opinions by tearing down what we love. All that I have seen is that people in this forum have wanted more info on how, what and what was used to come to your conclusions. When one attacks one must be prepared to defend. No one attacked you or your opinions yet you began this thread by attacking the very essence of the forum. I am not saying that your feelings about Nuendo are right or wrong but I am saying that in order to allow others to respect your opinion you cannot attack theirs. For your purposes shea Nuendo may be right for you because of your loyalty to your clients and their wishes. But I believe that I speak for the majority of the users here when I say that our clients are results driven not method driven. Good luck and continued success.

Isn't this a case of importing a wav file into Nuendo and Sonar and seeing if they sound the same, then doing a mix down and seeing if they sound the same thru a third party player like Real Player or Windows Media Player. To avoid the dithering question make sure the original wav and project files are 16 bit. At that point 2 mp3 files could be made by an encoder outside either product for easy download and listening. Hi guys I like this reply (to all ,, kisongs) but everybody please get one thing straight i would not let anybody dictate to me what to use in my studio. As a mater of fact the file that was used for this comparison is part of an album that was recorded totally in Sonar not Nuendo. The only reason this came about was the fact that i have two very high spec machines with Sonar on both, one for my main machine the other for testing etc.I would not let Nuendo near my main machine I didnt come here for the crack nor did i knock Sonar if you read my post correctly, i just voiced an opinion of which i honestly beleive to be true. Somebody said, im knocking your sonar,it's also mine. I would also ask you to please stop questionong my knowledge and honesty, this is wearing thin.Perhaps i know a whole lot more about Sonar than you think.I have a rocksolid system with absolutely no problems. I was asked once to post my website but since my website is heavily involved in sales of my music i will continue to obey the forum's rules on advertising I don't feel that would be the appropriate thing to do. I have over 200 songs on my web, some of which Have been big hits for me at home and abroad, and incidentally, mostly recorded 100% in Sonar apart from some in the earlier years. So, folks, I am not dumb. I know what works for me...Sonar! It's not Nuendo and it never will be. So friends the situation is the files have been sent to Ron and if cakewalk do not address this issue, I think... iwill have a solution for it any. im not 100 persent sure yet, so i will wait on Rons anallisis, perhaps this would be better for us all. Im sure if we all stay civil we will get this ironed out. Shea.

Lowercase would be fine, and make it not such a loud target thread. I mean you got the attention you wanted, and Ron is jumping through hoops to try and help you. Just go back to your very first post and click Edit up in the right corner of the post, then edit the title. ? *Tip: Typing in ALL CAPS is seen by many to be yelling or screaming online. If you want this to be civil, it has to start with you.

Someone mentioned earlier that he thought a bunch of you guys are dicks. God i laughed my ass off! I see now how these forums are more a "junior high lunch hour" than anything else, or at least have a strong tendancy to lean that way. Do some of you guys actually make music with this program, or did you just buy it to be apart of these forums and hang around and argue? The minute there is an openeing to get all righteous on someone you clowns just dive in like a pack of wolves, it's pitiful and sad. I had decided that after the little "seriously" thread thingy that i would hang around a bit and try to contribute to these forums, given that i had upset things somewhat. Not any more. I see now that it's you guys who get things all upset, you like it like that, takes the focus off the music eh, makes it easier to deal with your denial?

I see now how these forums are more a "junior high lunch hour" than anything else... It's unfortunate you feel this way. Many of us give a lot of time and effort here toward helping people and trying to make this place a welcome one. Too bad you only see the negativity... Of course, most of your comments toward the community here have pretty derogatory anyway. I've read very few positive or friendly comments from you; though you did show integrity toward the end of the 'seriously' thread, which I for one appreciated. I see now that it's you guys who get things all upset, you like it like that, takes the focus off the music eh, makes it easier to deal with your denial? It seems to me that it's you who likes things so upset, otherwise you'd probably not feel the need to be derisive or publicly insult people all the time. Sheesh...

It's clear from the first couple of posts by the person who started this thread, if not the original post alone, that this isn't worth five minutes of anybody's time. And yet there are nine pages of replies. Astonishing.

I agree. It's so obvious to anyone that's been in the business for any length of time that this thread is a huge waste of time. Since after 9 pages, there still is no proof, I'm all done. How hard is it to post some audio so we can all hear it? Stick a fork in it.

How does one get through to you guys. After this im out of here, you have reduced this forum to a one hour lunch gathering as some body said and hes right. All your doing is belittleing Sonar and adding to the likes or Nuendo. Where are all the well known pros on this forum who havnt replyed.or is it that they know something and cant be bothered because of the schoolboy nature of this thread Cakewalk has got the files by now so if they want to contact me direct ,they have my details , I will work with them direct .Other wise I don’t give a damn cause I know whats wrong anyway. This thread should stop now and I will sort it out myself with cakewalk. shea
