These guys are really talented (we had a thread about them awhile back), but I love this song and the video is very wickedly well done (good by itself, but with several references to prior work of theirs).

Haven't heard that song before......very, very good stuff. Excellent musician that Thomas Dolby is......one of the most underrated musicians IMO. .....and now for something completely different :).... I saw the Gipsy Kings about 15 years ago and was very impressed with them......one of those bands that's just much, much better live than on CD. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CK01_ZHDzjQ

She really channeled having a miscarriage into some powerful songs. The contrasts and sonic textures are very creative too (especially when added to that voice of hers).

What I like about her albums is that it's very hard to place them in a decade, they're never tied to current production fads.

NP: Space Between the Ears -- Strangeitude ... still one of my favorite albums. Was really disappointed, that the last time they were in Portland, the sound folks that did them ruined their work ... Portland still can't do a band if you pay them a monster fee. Their show at La Luna in 1994 (or 1995) was great ... but even then, Seaweed's keyboards went out at least twice ... this is just ridiculous and Portland needs one of them pogo sticks up the wazoo! Well, Magma sounded good, but cold day in hell they will allow anyone to touch them ... and ruin the vocals!

Hi, https://www.discogs.com/artist/353382-Banco-Del-Mutuo-Soccorso NP: Banco Del Mutuo Soccorso Which is their first album. Darwin is actually the 2nd. The Italian original is better than the copy made by Manticore with English lyrics, which had the same music, but the lyrics did not sound right after hearing the original. Sadly, Francesco di Giacomo passed away in an automobile accident a little bit back, and his singing is absolutely fabulous in that band all the way through. So, un-rock like, and yet so beautifully integrated. NEKTAR, has been one of my "best friends" since 1972 with "A Tab in the Ocean" ... and the side 2 of that album is one of their most famous "live" passages of all. I much prefer the long cuts, and specially "A Day in the Life of a Preacher". And I would like to find a version of the "Marvelous Moses" song in concert, when the original was harder and more Hawkwind like (only comparison I can find right now), or at least more "teutonic" than what eventually came out, which was softer and more ... washed out ... for my tastes. The band died in my heart with "It's All over Now" at the end of "Recycled", one of the best acid rock albums ever ... and it has to be played from beginning to end out LOUD ... and in a GREAT stereo, so the effect really hits home! And thanks Larry Fast for making this stuff even stronger than it already was!
