In that case, I have to invite you to the Eagles Nest.... unless you already go there. A group of fairly rabid Eagles fans who get together for every (including pre-season) Eagles game. Here is the link...... they go to a fun spot in Tigard (well once in a great while they meet at a different bar for "special events.") OK, the median age is steadily skewing downward now. I may find myself on the cracked side of the Bell curve yet. I'm sure that there's quite a few folks in Cakewalk's marketing department breathing a heavy sigh of relief as I write this. Undoubtedly their directive was to target the lucrative "spender" demographic: 18-34 years of age. (That's the mentality that I'm still holding onto; defying the outward signs of advanced maturity.)

I'm sure that Hendershott was sharpening the axe just outside of Sales department as this thread developed. If it wasn't for the corrections and the late arrivals, some of those guys would be out selling life insurance, Centrum Silver, and Depends by now.

Another Eagles fan here although stranded in California. In fact, a friend of mine used to play for them - Left Tackle 75 Stan Walters - but I am sure that was before your time.

RE: OT: so...how old is everyone? 2005/07/23 12:51:24 (permalink)
I’ll be 44 next month; very few regrets, many things I'm proud of, and some I'm ashamed of...

My first real concert was Aerosmith in Memphis back in the 70s. It was a religious experience; black curtains raising, revolving lights that spanned the stadium, and Steven Tyler screaming “I’m back, back in the saddle again.”

I’ve been using Cakewalk products since the early 90s and I currently use Project5 + Sonar + GigaStudio. I’ve worked in the software industry since the late 80s, including a long stint at Microsoft – I’m done with all that and I’m focusing on music, multimedia, and whatever I can do to make a buck or two. I’ve never been happier.

For you youngsters out there, take some time to listen to 50s, 60s, and 70s music and don’t dismiss it as your parents or grandparents music. Listen to the old Delta blues, bring it forward and make it a part of what you are doing in rap, hip hop, rock, or whatever it is that you do. It’s the music that’s important – not the technology.

Well same offer to you.... if you ever get up to Portland on a gameday! It is pretty interesting to have Philadelphians visiting friends and family in Portland come by the Eagles nest during a game.

Sure is. Consider the Beach competition between the Eagles and Dolphin cheerleaders in Delray Beach. Beach volleyball, sand races, and a tug-of-war event. I really hate to admit this (it's especially embarrassing after last "football" season), but even the Eagle's cheerleaders whooped up on our hometown favorites. However, in that competition, everyone came away a winner, if you catch my drift.

I'm hoping that bribing Ricky Williams with all those kilos is going to turn things around this year. Then again, he hasn't made it to training camp yet; probably got the munchies. It'd be much more comfortable to openly watch a football game this year without that brown paper bag over my head.

Me = 35

I too started as a DJ, and still have my 12's (right behind me)...

Moved to midi thru my 20's....(still have my M1, but sold my Sp-1200, MPC 1000, S760, ASRX Pro)

took a break from music to get may career going..video Post production toolz...

getting back to Music as a hobby now...

P5 is my new Fav.

Also Acid and Orion.

Played with Cubase a bit...but was frustrated with every sequencer since Bars & Pipes Pro.

I hate a lot of the desktop tools, because they assume that ppl want to make music with a mouse....I want to tap on stuff for rythym and timing and pitch...then use the mouse to make up for my poor keyboard skills...

P5V2 seems to hold some promise in this way....

Al-X
P5 fan

I know the fish had a pretty bad season last year (I always liked the Dolphins.... rooted for them when I lived in Tallahassee--back then there were no Jags and nobody in town rooted for the [then] horrible Bucs).... but they showed some spark beating the Pats in that Monday Night Game. The Pats were playing for homefield in the playoffs and it was not a meaningless game to them. So Williams..... few draft picks that work out.... they could make some big improvements. I think they are in a tough division though.... Not only the Pats, but the Jets and Buffalo will be respectable. I don't think I'll have to worry much about a paper bag while Andy is coaching the Eagles, but everything is a cycle!

Excellent! I wear them quite frequently. In Portland (where there is no professional football or major leage baseball and barely an NBA team) people often wonder why. I get.... "Why do you root for the Eagles?" all the time. Duh..... cause I'm from Philly. Anyway, anyone who even owns an Eagles hat (or other gear) is okay by me!!

Let's go down to ringside for a report. Lenny?

"It's too close to call at this point, B. The crowd seems to favor the underdog OF's, but what the judges are scoring at this point in the match is anybody's guess. Ah, Atomic Rooster. That would have been right around the time of their "Death Walks Behind You". Great album that. "Headline News" was pretty good, too, but came along about a decade later.

ORIGINAL: DaveElson

52...... the Fifties in the lead.
First gig.... Either Atomic Rooster or the Groundhogs at Nottingham Albert Hall 1971.
Closely followed by the Strawbs (with Rick Wakeman no less)

A bit late to the party, OMG I'm 51! 8 years left on the retirement clock - tick tock tick tock ...

Been a Grandpa for 3 years now which is nuts! Pretty cool though. :-)

Anyway, this Grandpa can still rock!

I'm holding up OK, the pic is recent.
