kson I've always liked Eric and his product lines. I have all three and he has my full support. It looks like he dropped some lbs too. However, this time I'm not that excited about the new release. It's cool but seems geared towards EDM artists and sound tweakers, both of which I am not. I was kind of hoping that he would do something with RMX. Most likely, I'll still get it just because it plays well with the other two and the GUI has been updated. As always, his pricing/update policy is outstanding.
I agree. The inabilty to import your own samples was really the only thing that was missing IMO which has now been resolved, but I didn't find the rest of the update to be particularly exciting. I guess the trouble is that when I first got Omnisphere, I was just blown away by the depth of it, so that makes it a tough act to follow for someone who already has it. Not saying I won't get it, but I'm not crossing the days off of the calendar either.

I think this update is truly something to get excited about. At least if you are open to having essentially a lifetime of possibilities at your fingertips.
Two internal 2TB SSDs laptop stuffed with Larry's deals and awesome tools. Studio One is the cat's meow as a DAW now that I've migrated off of Sonar. Using BandLab Cakewalk just to grab old files when migrating songs.

I am waiting to see more before I get too excited. The sound import sounds cool but I really want to see more than I have in the announcement video.

I wasn't interested until he got to the 2nd half of the video. It looks like some cool sound designing can happen with that thing. I hope it turns out to be a great product.

I've held out on the current Omnisphere because of the price, but finally just decided to go for it when I heard this announcement. I should get the free upgrade when it's released. I'm pretty stoked and have a feeling I'm going to really like it for the type of sounds I'm into. I'm primarily a rock/metal guitarist, but I like to experiment with some electronic (kind of industrial I guess) and with non-traditional synth sounds in my music, rather than trying to emulate existing instruments. Looks like a pretty powerful tool.

Vastman Spectrasonic's website has lots more info (sorry can't post link from phone for some reason) Out looks awesome. If u have omnisphere it's $249 If you have omnisphere trillion and rmx it's $199. Yay! Available in April
I will get this, but wish there was one more tier of prices, one for those who own Omnisphere and Trillian. Would be nice to have that at perhaps $229--right in the middle. Still, I will buy it just to have the new feature and the extra library.

JRR Shop did have the upgrade (Pre-order) for around $224.10 vs. $249. Put it in your cart to get the discount price.

Really excited for this upgrade. I used to used a lot more VSTis but I've been only using hardware synths for the past 5 years or so... Omnisphere is the only VSTi that I have left - or at least the only one installed. This might be my ticket back "into the box"...

Must have just missed this. Put it in my cart, but it was still $249. I will keep watching and see if that price returns.

For those who don't already own Omnisphere like me (been holding off due to price), Musician's Friend has a sale right now for 15% off purchase $299+ through 1/29/15 (using promo code GETGEAR). Since, according to the Spectrasonics website, you get the free upgrade to 2.0 when it's released if you purchase between certain dates, I finally rationalized that I should go ahead and pull the trigger and get it. Still a lot of money to drop, but the price came out to be $407 and they offer free shipping. I've been watching prices for a while and that's the cheapest I've found so far.

Thanks for the info, Fleer. I did check out Best Service's price and with the Euro to Dollar conversion came out to $479, so if they had a sale previously, I must've missed it.

Just checked it. Price is now $336 plus $10 shipping. You take the Euro price (€359) then deduct VAT, which brings it down to €296, thus $336.

The Euro price I get at Best Service is 399 with VAT...356 without VAT. So the price is about $380 U.S. I'm not sure why we're seeing different figures.

Here's the email I received from Best Service this morning: Subject: Your PO of OMNISPHEREDear Mr. Brenner!
We are terribly sorry to have to inform you that we cannot fulfill your Spectrasonics OMNISPHERE order at best service. Spectrasonics has forbidden Best Service to ship Spectrasonics products to the United States of America. Your payment has already been refunded. Please accept the following voucher/personal promo code as excuse for any inconvenience caused. ################ This voucher gives you a € 50 (which is around $ 55) discount on any order at www.bestservice.de until June 30th 2015. Please accept our apologies and thank you for your understanding. We hope to see you again at www.bestservice.de All the best from Munich and have a nice weekend! Sandy Pletzer
While I appreciate the coupon I'm really depressed about the whole thing.

Once I looked past it's greatness (I don't own it) and started looking at it's price tag I'm telling myself to stay away. I've got so many synths and libraries that I don't need to add to my drive space with another rompler (I will end up using it that way). With the best service deal being wiped out that is some serious change for me to lay down on software. I could get a great Intel processor or a great audio interface, SSDs. A new user can look at this as a buy one get one free but it's still a lot of money. Outside of presets I don't really know how to create new sounds out of the synths I own. MacProVideo had a $15 a month offer. So hopefully it will help me to avoid buying the latest and greatest and learn to use what I have. If you have Komplete, there is so much there and I think mastering Reaktor would take you far. It's interesting what people are doing with Image Line's Harmor. Free upgrade always seems to make us never think twice.

Wow, Kite, you read my mind. It's a lot of money that almost buys you Komplete 10 or the upgrade from 10 to Ultimate. And it's never at a deep sale price, whereas you can get that upgrade to Ultimate for $250 if you're patient. So, for me also, $400 is just too much for a rompler with expanded capabilities. Glad I passed on it.
