An explanation for your disturbing avatar might be enlightening, Twig. Have you ever been in therapy?

Oh good, it's not just me.  I always need to focus more towards the right side of the screen when reading a Twigman post - that animation can only remind me of tragic self immolating martyrs - not exactly laugh riot material.

Hey,  I thought you weren't allowed to change notes so that all the clips played the same tune...

hehe--I get it--Took me a couple of seconds though.

Hope you were able to get your votes in after all, Karyn!

Is that really a question? - It looks like a statement - or are you 'typing' an Australian affectation?  ;)

Karyn, hope you didn't wait for me to dismiss you - if so, it's high time you get to bed - Go!--and thank you for staying up to vote.

Twigman--hehe---Is "did good" Australian?  It's a common little colloquial joke here, and one which, now that I think of it, has unfortunately become so common that some people don't know it's bad English.

But "Petrol"-- that's British isn't it?

It's perfectly good English as long as the word good refers to something other then good.  "Good works" for example. However, well is much preferred if that is what you mean. As in "I think I did well." The question mark is questionable though. LOL

Petrol? What is petrol and where can I get some?

hehe, well, but the colloquialism I'm referring to is where "good" has been substituted for "well."  "Did I do good?" - somebody has done something well but then blows it by using bad English.  The phrase isn't to be confused with "doing good" as in performing good deeds.

Petrol?---OOh, I thought for sure that's what Gasoline is called in England.  Maybe in previous decades?

No, but it pushed your entry down just enough to prevent you from winning a prize, Mike. So are you pissed off now, too?

No, it certainly wouldnt be the first contest I lost... why there was the bikini contest of '83 ...the speling conteste bak in '97...the baking contest last year (lesson learned, no one likes apple cores and stems ..or donuts, in their pie..pfft who knew)..the list goes on...

I posted in the other thread about the benifits of a judging panel to keep anonymous votes in check for the same reason you stated..people put alot of work into their submissions and deserve a listen and consideration from the voter.

Dave, you and Randy should start another 'contest'.  Instead of emailing votes we can use telepathy...it will be up to you and Randy to keep score of all the ESP votes.  Seems like a concrete system leaving no room for error or favortism.  We can get Sylvia Brown and John Edwards to help tally and "receive" votes!  Oh that will be fun!

Thanks, John.

This may not be too surprising, but I still think it's rather too bad.  Probably less than 1% of the Forum's membership participated in this. - But we're grateful to those who produced recordings, and to those who played fair in their voting.

Soon -- all details shall be revealed!

I really wanted to participate and submit an entry I just didn't have the time at the time you all started this. Besides the song was just a little too not my taste. Not the music but the sequence of it.  I would had to have done a lot of editing to get to where I would use it. That was what made it not possible at this time. I didn't vote because I didn't listen to many of the submissions. Thus I would have not been doing my duty in voting.

Next time I will try to be involved and participate with a submission and will vote.

None the less I do believe what you and Bit did here is remarkable and should be well noticed by the entire forum. Your good cheer and Bit's droll writing were a real good diversion for me even if I could not be as supportive as I wanted to be.

I really hope there will be a next time.

Best

I think next time the contest should be in reverse...

Start off with a real 60 piece orchestra that travels around to the entrants bedroom studios and see who comes up with the most accurate midi file of what they're playing.

Yeah,  nice isn't it?

It's not got the fastest clocked i7 in it.  I didn't see that the massive price hike justified the small gains in processor speed.  I have overclocked this one a little though.  I think It started out specd as a 2.8 and I'm  running it as a 3.0, or something along those lines.

The interesting thing I found though was that at 'normal' speed that CPU spike meter thingummy was showing a usable latency around 150 - 200 ms with spikes all over the shop. but increasing the CPU clock dropped it down to 20 - 25 with no spikes what so ever...  Nice

YAaaaaaaaan - Streeeeeetch - >sips coffee<  -blinks eyes---

Good morning, John6528 and all- Yes, you missed something, John - that Bitflipper and I are on the west coast of the U.S.  It's 7:11 AM here and we're waking up.  Well I know I'm just waking up anyway.  Twigman was correct earlier when he said we were still sleeping when you posted.

Give us time to get up to speed.  Bitflipper and I plan to confer via email around 8:00 AM, and then we'll post the wrap-up to this, along with the updated Trek website as soon as we can.
