I took your advice. Thank you. So now I'm an SSO member using Sonar Platinum. They gave me a serial number, but there isn't anyplace to put it. I'm open and it's a "Demo" mode. I tried the usual spots: Help, About Sonar and nowhere do I find where to put the serial number. Is that weird or what? I've looked in all the menus - don't see it anywhere. Any help? Thanks. doncobb

Oh my goodness. Why didn't someone warm me about the clusterfreak that installing my serial number turned out to be? And why do I have 15 downloads underneath my Cakewalk Platinum "My Products"? Am I supposed to download all of them and install them? Is installing them just as complicated as registering Platinum turned out to be? Is there somewhere that someone explains all of this, and how to do it, and which of "My Products" I really want to install? Seriously, I wish I would have stuck with Sonar 3. None of this complicated unexplained nonsense. So, I downloaded them all. I'm guessing I can pick and choose which I want to install? Would it be ideal to install them all in order to try them all? Would it not be wise? Thanks. I would think that when someone wants to purchase this product - Platinum - that they would be forewarned that "This is the process you'll need to go through in order to install this/these product/products." Because I don't like having to just sit here now, waiting for someone to reply to my questions, hoping SOMEONE even answers, and hoping they explain it in a way that I can understand. But I will... I'll just wait...and hope... and thank you in advance if you can explain any of this. I'm just tired I think. End of the week, end of the day. Thanks for any help, anyone.

Thanks, both of you. I guess I'm just used to downloading the new version and running with the new install so my downtime is short. Now I've downloaded all 50 gigs of stuff and I see where I can use the "Command Center" to install it, roll stuff back, etc. and probably didn't need to download any of it. Thanks again.

Yes, you did not need to download any of it but now that you have. If you plan on using Cakewalk defaults, you can install the Command Center and copy the installers to "C:\ProgramData\Cakewalk\Command Center\Downloads" and use the Command Center to perform the install.

Thanks, scook. I was so excited to get home and see the upgrade offer and I'm tired and I just ran like a crazy man. I think I'll worry about installing all those other add-ons in the morning, when I'm fresh. lol

I am considering buying Sonar. Thing is I keep my workstations of-line. My Q is: Can I simply register a Sonar product on SSO by entering a valid serial no. and on doing that do I then qualify for the appropriate upgrade price for any subsequent purchase? I know that if I go for Platinum Addictive Drums requires on line activation. Another Q: Do upgrades require the product upgraded from to be on the same computer?

Here is a video describing the authentication process for PCs not connected to the internet.
The update process is the same as the initial install. Download the updated installers to a machine connected to the internet and run them on the remote machine.

Maybe I am stupid (that probably most likely) or not, but I try to find some information about the monthly payment method. I assume I can use PayPal for that? It's the only payment method I have, apart from the European based iDeal method (I live in the Netherlands). And secondly - do you have to do the payments manually, or will this go automatically? I seached the website, but did not find any clear answer to this questions. I can contact Cakewalk directly of corse, but I rather try to find the answer here first. So - anyone can tell me more? I really looking forward to update my "rusty" X1 Producer Expanded to this latest version...

You can use PayPal to make the initial and all subsequent payments. At the time each payment is due, Cleverbridge will send you an email that contains a link. Click on that link and follow the instructions to make that months payment. This is how it works for me. In my case, for my Sonar Platinum membership, I get the email (from Cleverbridge) on the 17th of the month. Cakewalk Sonar Help about "Valid through"date increases by one month on the 23rd of the month. Others that use Paypal may have set up an automatic payment, but I actually prefer the manual method so I know that it has been processed.

Ok promidi - thanks a lot. I did not even know Cleverbridge was involved. No information on payment methods is presented on the main products page. Glad to know how it will work.. And just in time. An friend offered me an (monthly) subscription on "something musical" for my birthday (22 of april - I wll become 60 then), and I am sure that unnamed person was expecting an (more or less expensive) musical magazine with disc or concert pass.. But now this will become an whole different kind of subscription (yes, I will pay the price difference myself)...

The Cakewalk store uses Cleverbridge as the backend so it's transparent to the user. When you get an email either as reminder to make your monthly payment or an acknowledgement of a payment made there is a link that takes you to the Cleverbridge site that allows you to check your orders and payments etc. or to cancel your current membership.

You have an SSO already. It is used to gain access to this forum. I would imagine there are Cakewalk customers using Steam which have not bothered to create an account on the Cakewalk site.

scook The DimPro and Rapture packages have not changed in years. I would expect additions would show up as extra packages much like the extra content of the past. Similar to the Content Club if you had X2.
I'm thinking about upgrading my X3 Producer to Platinum, but I'm curious...if the updates work like the old Content Club used to, I've already missed a bunch of content and updates. If I jump in now, will I get all of the updates, features, additions, and content from the Allston through Foxboro rolling updates...or will it start me at the stuff in Foxboro and go forward for 12 months, not including the Allston through Everett content and features (e.g., VocalSync, REmatrix Solo; Craig's Acoustic Guitar Presets, Piezo CA-X Amp Sim, and VoxTools, Drum Replacer, etc.)? Thanks, G

It is similar to the old Content Club. If you upgrade now, you will get all the updates to the program and content released so far and for the next 12 months, except for two packages of member exclusive content, the Brian Hardgroove Collection and the Kick Start Rapture Collection. Those two packages were available to members during the month of their release. Supposedly some or all of the exclusive package will eventually be available for purchase at the Cakewalk store but it has not happened yet.

Very disappointed in Sonar Platinum. I paid $399 for a program that is no different that what I was using.....upgrades are not that great and now you need to be tied to Cakewalk all the time and they want to charge you for bad service.

Grab the most recent installer for each of the packages you listed. There are also two parts to SONAR Platinum, Platinum Core Plugins 1.0.0.5 and SONAR Platinum 21.6.0.25. You don't need Foxboro. All updates are cumulative. There should also be installers outside of the SONAR Platinum tree for Dimension Pro and Rapture. You will want those and any others you might find in connected products too. IIRC, Rapture still does not include the optional expansion packs. They are available here http://www.cakewalk.com/S...re-Expansion-Packs-1-2

They find a way to charge you for everything and anything. Sonar Platinum? supposedly all future updates free unconditionally? Does that include Win 10 or when ever OS changes? We can spend thousands on chasing upgrades. Time to look elsewhere. Check my account cakewalk. Have been loyal since the 80's. You have been raping me ever since.
