Forgive me if this has already been covered, but I've just jumped on the $10 expanded thing and don't have all the extra modules for PC. So, which preset package should I be looking at? Not the expanded one? Thanks.

Same question here...(Although I did download all the Expanded presets, but haven't tried any yet). I would "assume" if I didn't have a certain PC module, the preset that uses that module won't work? Roight?

Anyone care to share presets with the Softube Mix bundle? I will be uploading a few after I hash out my "standards"

On another note, the PC has eleminated a bunch of mess from my workflow. For anyone looking for a professional shine without selling your soul, the softube mix bundle and the concrete limiter is just about all you need to make a really solid mix/master. I have to say, if you can upgrade to the Softube Mix and find a cheap UAD-1 card with either the 1073 or Harrison, you are set. That combo works in the professional audio world.

Now, when is the quadcurve coming? Any plans to "expand" the PC mods to more Softube stuff? I imagine if the Tube-Tech channel comes out for PC I will pass out. When I wake up, I will buy it and then head over to Gearslutz to watch the frenzy of "born-again" cake lovers!

PS If you need a Beta tester for any PC stuff, let me know! :-)

The presets are great but a couple of the Pro Channel presets are crashing Sonar.  I can load the preset, but when I press play Sonar crashes.  The ones that crash for me are the Snare Punch and the Hi Hat definition.  The kick and bass work fine.  I haven't tried all of them.
Those 2 along with guitar- modern for me...every time.
I should add that guitartrek gave me a great workaround in another thread; take a screen cap of the plug before hitting play and then make your own preset.

I get lots of crashes too. Is it perhaps that I don't have Expanded?
Very cool idea tho.. Excellent results and great learning experience.

I'm still hoping cake starts sorting these by date so I know what I have and don't. The last time I checked, they were mixed in alphabetically...  grrrrrr

yes a date would be great, Alphabetical order would be nice or by date added.  A Rating system on the side to let you know which ones people like or don't or a number of how many time it has been downloaded.  All very nice add ons to the list if you ask me.

Love some of the presets!
Even more would be most welcome
The clean guitar presets, are useful in educating me about mix placement, compared to saturated heavy sounds, and their place.

Some ProChannel presets crashing my X1D Expanded as well.  Haven't kept a list, but some of them initialize SoftTube (which I never purchased or was to my knowledge bundled at anytime). Are some of these presets 'proprietary' or customized to certain modules?  Besides an obvious comp or eq label, how does a novice tell which preset will work with a given module without a trial & error crashing session?

Andrew,

Why have you not made tick boxes so you can tick the ones you want to download, you can then create a zip file for people to download all in one go.

This is really a pain in the neck to have to do the save thing every time.

Are there new ones up there? I looked but it's hard to tell unless I print an A/B list. Like the option and the gift of the presets. But until they change the organization of how they are identified, I guess I'm done for now.

Brandon Ryan [Cakewalk
]

There are plenty of free add-ons for browsers and download managers (like DownThemAll) that will download all links on a page in one fell swoop.

The problem with bundling them is that the page allows user submissions and the pack would have to be updated constantly and would require re-downloading the same content over and over again.

This is off topic but I'd like to know how you start a  new thread on Cakewalk Forums. I've done it before but now I can't find the option to start a new thread only to respond to the thread I happen to be in at the moment. There's some questions I'd like to have answers to but I want to ask in the appropriate place.....

this is how i do it...go to the top of the page click the forum tab/click todays posts/you will see a bunch of threads..look in the left hand column at the catagorys..click on a catagory that fits your question..at the top of that new page that open you will see thread options/post new thread...good luck..my way may be a little starnge but it gets the job done.

The presets are fine but their organisation is abysmal. It's like every time Cakewalk implement something they've been interrupted before its finished and gone onto another project to unfinish that one.
