BTW, I do appreciate the X2 workflow enhancements based on what I saw on the Webinar. They really seem like some nice improvements.

How about true clip editing inside Sonar, so I don't need to leave Sonar to knock down peaks, or be able to visually fix gain.

Anyone who has used Cubendo knows how useful this is. I have put in a feature request for it a couple of years back also. Maybe they are getting to it- I mean it is only recently that we are able to see in real-time the effect of fade in/outs on the wave.

I want X4 to talk to me like :

"Hello Zo what can i do for you today"

i'll be like " shut up and open Mashine all inputs on and 3 instances of Diva , template 2012 , Sll bus comp on Master and
and vcc on all audio " .....it will be the assistant i never had !!

More seriously

1) slots for fx bin ala PT
2) sends also better implemented (visualy)
3) colors
4) VS 700 fixed issues
5) better Markers system
6) plugin management from the browser
7) multi dock alowing docking of mutitiple plugins on same page
8)the ability to change the placement of each modules of the track in console view (like icon first then pan then volume ect ...)
9)customizable resolution (like ableton) this will solve native low resolution headache
10)track listing on left like in PT , great for management (the track manger is kinda outdated to me)

@Zo: Two things: How is it that you quote s...t in this forum now (I mean, really!) and I thought of the "hi dave, what would you like to do" concept many many moons ago. I'm not ashamed to admit I'd have thought we'd have been there by now!!!!!!

1. Full Colour customization EVERYWHERE
2. Nested folders
3. True audio track solo on multi-out drums folder when drum map is deployed

All three of these have been feature requested, not that it matters (like my post count).

My underwear has full color customization EVERYWHERE! Plus, it is also bug free. It also has nested folders.

Conclusion.

My underwear has 2/3 of your featured requests.

I guess it doesn't count cause its not "software" per say?

1. Clip Gain in one step (like PT or Nuendo) not 5 or 6 clicks to achieve it

2. Multi screen: separate windows, so I could have tracks on screen 1 and mixer on screen 2

3. Duplicate feature (like EVERY OTHER DAW HAS)  Sonar has the Slide over to make room feature, but again, too many clicks to achieve this( count 5).  I'd like 1 shortcut to achieve it...

Ctrl+vertical drag on a clip adds a clip gain envelope that you can immediately position where needed.

Clip gain with the waveform reflecting the change in realtime is something I have been requesting for years.

Fade Ins/Outs have been fixed, now is the time for clip gain to be fixed too!

You're welcome!   It's definitely the fastest way to add a clip gain envelope.  And even if you're not sure where to set it at that moment, the typical Shift+Click will activate it after the fact.

You know when you open an older project and  you get the missing plugins dialog box? Give us the ability to direct it to a new plug-in in it's place. Or even just delete it.

Notation, the original DAW. Everything else is just rote. We are who we are and no more than another. Humans, you people are crazy.

I hate to add an actual useful idea, but what about "WAVE EDITING" like Cubase.

So far only Mr. Strummers request would work for me. And it's not that hard to code. Mavis Becan Teaches Typing does it.

But we could even improve on that with a bit of technoligy it could say

" Well done Johnny, but don't you think A minor would be better on the middle 8"

I want to see the GUI slightly reworked, to be very slick and sleek...   I'd like to see some really interesting graphical things down.  I really like the workflow.  I like, "the skylight, and like the inspector, and I love the way the prochannel works, and all that stuff."

What I don't like is the very limited color things that we can do, and these very, "boxy," shapes.  Sonar is basically, "a corvette," in terms of its abilities.  Now it really needs to start to look like one.  Studio One and Digital Performer are really kicking butt here, so Cakewalk should step it up.

All that said..  I'm excited to see X3, I'd like to see what the bakers do with it, and hopefully we can really spruce up the look and feel a bit more.   Software should be pretty too!!   and IMHO, "gunmetal gray," is so drab.   Really, when I use Sonar, I feel like I am in a submarine from the 1980s.  But I should feel like I am on a spaceship from the 2230s.

too many lasers...

Sonar = audio editing ninja of a music software!
