how about you create a bonus chapter pdf situation like you use to do and slap the vvocal and rmix stuff in there so we x3 guys who have x2 can benefit from our having those applications. By the way loved the x1 power book and sonar  6 power before that.

My copy of X3 Power! is due to arrive here tomorrow :) (I also have X1 and X2 Power! and even the ebook version of X2 Power!) I thought for some time about whether to spring for the new book, and finally decided that there are enough differences between versions to justify the expenditure. Great books, Scott, very clear and methodical, useful illustrations included at all the right places and altogether logically organized.

Hi Bryan... thanks very much! I'll give that some thought, but can't make any promises.

I have links to the major retailers up on my site... http://www.garrigus.com/

The book is also available many other places, but there's no way I could list them all.

Thanks!

Hi Laura... thanks for the kind words! Yes, there's quite a bit of new material in X3 Power, especially because it also covers the X3a, b, c, d, and e updates. I hope you enjoy it!

Also, if you have time after you've looked at the book, could you post a review up on Amazon?

Hi again Scott,

Yes, I'd be happy to write a review after I've had the chance to study the book a little longer. I did get to page 63 today, despite a long day at my paying job :), and have already learned a few things that I didn't know!

I keep notes of important points as I go, and have close to a page as of now. I figure that every line or two of notes represents an hour or two of avoided frustration. :)

Hi!

I just purchased your book Sonar X3 Power. On page 364, figure 16.9 you show a piano Staff pane showing a left and right hand partition for piano. If you had looked at the partition morer closely you would have noticed that the full notes range is not available at this time in X3 for either left or right hand partitions. Try it out and see for yourself. I brought this matter up with Cakewalk and awaiting an answer on this glitch. Hope you will follow this up more closely in your next edition.

The book seems to be available from all of the usual suspects (Amazon, Waterstones, Ebay sellers etc.) for prices ranging between £20 - £30 (the difference between highest and lowest is around the price of a McDonalds Happy Meal).
I appreciate that everyone should want to try to save money where they can but, for me, for something this essential, I'd just go and buy the book a.s.a.p. and skip the burger for the day...

Yeah, that's a good strategy. Even though the book can be used as a reference, I always recommend reading it at least once cover-to-cover. That way you don't miss all the tips that are included throughout the text.

Hi Radisson... it sounds like you may have found a bug. You'll definitely have to discuss that with Cakewalk. Fixing bug in their software is totally up to them. I don't work for Cakewalk. I'm just an author that writes about their software.

Thanks for reading my book!

My last version of Cakewalk was Home Studio 9 before moving to Mac and Logic Studio. With my recent move back to the WinPC platform and ditching the Mac, I promptly grabbed Music Creator with all the sound packs and upgraded to Sonar X3 from there.

Wow, Sonar certainly looks different...so I needed "THE" book. Amazon says Sonar X3 Power should arrive in 2 days.

Can't wait to get back in the Cakewalk groove. It's been awhile. Glad the author hangs out here. :)

Hey Glenn... Welcome back to Windows and SONAR. Definitely lots of changes, but you'll get used to them. It'll be a fun experience and I hope you enjoy "THE" book while working with SONAR. Also, (if you have time), could you post a review up on Amazon after you've had a chance to look at the book?

Mine just came in the mail this afternoon.  I have a feeling there are much more efficient ways of doing things, as well as plenty of things you can do that I wasn't even aware of.

Yes, there's a manual, I know...but at 2000ish pages, and only an electronic version (which I just can't get into).  I need something I can hang on to, physically.

Hopefully this will give me the information to improve my understanding as well as my overall technique.

See ya...gotta start reading.  ;-)

For the record, I've just posted a review on Amazon.co.uk for Scott's X3 Power book.

I gave it 2 stars only, I'm afraid.
I'm kidding, of course: I scored it 5.  ; )

For some reason, Amazon has posted my review using my weird-invented-cyberspace-name 'Steve Murray' instead of my real name, but hey-ho.
I even managed to put in a sneaky plug for this Cakewalk User Forum in there too.

Peace and Love (as Ringo is rather fond of saying),

Re: Sonar X3 Power! 2014/06/05 10:18:35 (permalink)
After giving up on ever getting X1 Power on Kindle in the UK  (I haven't checked recently) I decided to go for X3 Power with iBooks.  (I now use X3 so it made sense).

£21.99 in the iBook store and an instant download.  Marvellous.

Better still,  when I opened it on my iPad it shows it's over 1000 pages!!!   More than twice the size of the printed version, and if turn my iPad to landscape it goes up to over 1700 pages!!  GREAT   Over 3 times the pages of the printed version for the same price

Can't get better than that

Well, I broke down and ordered X3 Power even though I haven't installed X3 yet.  Figured I might as well be ready when I do.  This will make 6 Power books now.  I swear it's just because I'm a slow learner, (although I think Scott is shopping for islands....LOL).

Thanks very much, Karyn! I hope you enjoy the book. Yeah, I apologize again for the Kindle problem. The publisher is still trying to work things out with Amazon. But as you found, the book is available in different ebook formats worldwide.

I have no idea what the page number in ebooks is different, but they're all like that for some reason. There's definitely the same amount of material in both the print and ebook editions.

Thanks again, and if you have a chance after you've looked at the book, could you post a review up on Amazon?

Ha! I wish! Thanks very much, Paul! I really appreciate all the support. I hope you enjoy this edition as much as the past ones. Why haven't you installed X3 yet? Just curious...

And after you get around to looking at the book (and only if you have time), could you post a review up on Amazon?

Hi Scott.  A combination of things.  I'm really wanting to finish a few projects first.  When I get X3 installed I want to spend the time to really get familiar with all the new "X" series features and function.  I want get things set up properly with X3 as well and that's going to take some time, (screen sets, templates, colors etc.).  With X1 & X2 I just migrated things over and made do.  This time will be different....

I'll try and remember to post a review.
