Thanks, Frink! Yeah, unfortunately, for some reason it's come out earlier in the USA. It could be that way because the publisher is a US company, not sure though.

Hi Ken... no need for new content since SONAR ships with a ton of stuff already, so I used that for illustrating the step-by-step exercises and examples.

Hi Alex... Kindle version doesn't come out at the same time as the print edition. You'll notice that Kindle isn't available in the USA yet either. I think it requires a bit of formatting work that differs from print, so the publisher should be working on that now.

    Thanks!

Good... keep doing it... and get as many other people as you can to do it too... seriously... the more demand Amazon gets, hopefully the faster it'll get done.

Hey Wayne... I haven't heard anything, but then each retailer is different. They all handle their own individual sales, so delivery can be different from various retailers. I would think they could get it cleared up soon and you could also try contacting their customer service.

    Thanks!

Sorry everyone... the retail sites got the date wrong. According to the publisher, the release date is around April 16th. I'm really sorry about that and I'll keep you all informed. Also, let me know if you get any more notices from the retailers.

    Thanks!

    Scott,

Went to the Barnes and Noble site (have some gift cards that were waiting for an opportunity like this). When I get to their page on "Sonar X3 Power!" it states "This Paperback is Not Available through BN.com." Do you know if this means they do not intend to sell it online at all, and would have to go to a brick & mortar store? If so, I'll use the cards on something else and just order it from Amazon (closest B&N store is about 75 miles away).

    Any insight appreciated.

    Hi Bryan,

No, RMIX and V-Vocal was removed because neither of those features are included in X3. But instead of getting the X2 book, you should wait for my upcoming ebook series. I'll have more info in an upcoming issue of the DigiFreq music recording newsletter. If you haven't already, you can sign up for a free newsletter subscription at: http://www.digifreq.com/digifreq/subscribe.asp

    Hi Bob,

I'm pretty sure that just has to do with the release date problem. I've got a note into a the publisher to check on it and will let you know...

Amazon now has a great offer for paper copies purchased, the Kindle addition can be purchased for only $2.99 more.

They call it the Kindle Matchbook Program:

Hey Bob... yeah, I noticed that too. Amazon is a little weird with their pricing sometimes. Not sure why they raised it, but it will probably come back down again. Totally up to them though, unfortunately. The book will be available from various retailers though, so people can shop around. The nice thing about the higher price is that you get free shipping.

    Thanks!

    Hi Scott,
Sorry if you addressed this earlier but I have your wonderful Sonar X2 Power Book, and use it as my bible for Sonar.
Since I have used my highlighter on important chapters for reference purposes, is there enough differences in the X3 version to justify either highlighting the same areas that I did in X2 in the X3 release plus any new information in X3 or will I now have to use both books.

It's not the money, but just having all the info in one place.

    Thanks,

    Walt

Scott, all I can say is that I am glad I pre-ordered my copy at $35.  I have seen  the prices go down very soon after the books are released, so here is hoping that happens to X3 Power, but not at your expense.

Hey Walt... each Power book is all-inclusive, so you won't need X2 Power if you get X3 Power. There's plenty of new stuff in X3 Power and it covers the entire application. The only things missing from X3 Power are the features that Cakewalk dropped like R-MIX and V-Vocal. Since those features are not included in X3, it didn't make sense to include them in the book.

However, I will probably be covering those features in my upcoming ebook series in case users still want the info, and it will go beyond what was in X2 Power. I'll have more info in an upcoming issue of the free DigiFreq music recording newsletter: http://www.digifreq.com/digifreq/subscribe.asp

    Thanks!
    Scott
