Paul G Hi Scott. A combination of things. I'm really wanting to finish a few projects first. When I get X3 installed I want to spend the time to really get familiar with all the new "X" series features and function. I want get things set up properly with X3 as well and that's going to take some time, (screen sets, templates, colors etc.). With X1 & X2 I just migrated things over and made do. This time will be different.... I'll try and remember to post a review. Paul
Thanks, Paul! I appreciate it. Regarding screensets, templates and colors... you can export the ones you've created from X2 and import them into X3. That way you don't have to put them together again. Scott -- Scott R. Yeah.... I'm still trying to make X2 act like 8.5. While I do have some templates I haven't done anything with screensets or colors. I need to stop and relearn everything so I can take advantage of all that X3 offers. It's a bit daunting so I've been putting it off.

About a year and a half ago I bought a quad capture and it was bundled with Sonar LE. I then upgraded to x3 shortly after and in May I couldn't refuse the great deal to upgrade again to Producer. I really don't have a lot of time to spend at this hobby yet but am getting set up and trying to learn things for when I can sell out my business and just work part time or hopefully quit completely. (probably wishful thinking) I'm looking forward to the book as I am hearing nothing but great revues. Except for the dude who said it was so big that he could put it in front of his wheel and stop his jeep from rolling down hill. hahaha Later Me

Hey Clint... thanks very much, man! I appreciate it. Yeah, there are a lot of tips sprinkled throughout the book, which is why I recommend everyone read it from cover-to-cover at least once and then use it as a reference after that. Otherwise, you're not getting the full value. With each new version of SONAR, Cakewalk adds some large features, but it also makes many smaller changes to different parts of the program, so the tips in the book also have to be spread out among the various chapters so that they correspond to the features being covered. Each new book edition actually has more than just new feature coverage. So what kind of tunes are you working on now? Scott -- Scott R. Hey Scott, I have been doing jingle spots for two of my clients the last couple of months. I have been working on sound effects for my own use also. I won't be doing much work over the next month as my wife is having surgery on her neck and spine on Thursday. I will be taking care of her as she will not be able to drive for the next 4 weeks, let alone work, so will be busy with her. Then it is my turn in 4 weeks for surgery on my L4/L5 area to chip away some of the bone that is pinching both my leg nerves due to my scoliosis. My recovery time will be about the same, so Netflix will be getting a good workout.

Hey Clint, Sorry to hear about the surgery. I hope it goes well for both you and your wife. Recovery time is definitely not fun. But yeah, watching movies is a great way to pass the time. Be sure to watch a lot of comedies. I've read that speeds up the healing process. I don't know if it works, but you never know and at least the comedies will keep you in a good mood. GBO323 My last version of Cakewalk was Home Studio 9 before moving to Mac and Logic Studio. With my recent move back to the WinPC platform and ditching the Mac, I promptly grabbed Music Creator with all the sound packs and upgraded to Sonar X3 from there. Wow, Sonar certainly looks different...so I needed "THE" book. Amazon says Sonar X3 Power should arrive in 2 days. Can't wait to get back in the Cakewalk groove. It's been awhile. Glad the author hangs out here. :) Glenn
