John T This is a fun game, yeah. Look at list, think of something not in list, affect outrage. This'll be in the papers tomorrow: SOFTWARE UPDATE FAILS TO DELIVER UTOPIA IN SINGLE STEP. Of course another legitimate view that would show a bit more empathy for those still having difficulties would be, oh look the Software I purchased has had its 6th update since the debacle of it's initial release and still I have issues I've been complaining about for several versions let alone point releases. 'Outrage' is something more akin to your views of people expressing concern. Who's doing the 'spinning' here?

Glass half empty question, to me, that. I see it more like: the thing's been out just over 8 months, and it's about to get a third proper service release, and has had four quick fix releases. So still being actively supported and fixed for free nine months on. I think that's good.

I know I'm not comparing like for like, but come on John - if it hadn't been rushed out in such a poor state when it was released, it wouldn't have needed so much "supporting and fixing for nine months". In any case, shouldn't it have a warranty or guarantee that it should 'work' for 12 months anyway?

John T So you'd prefer they weren't doing that? No I'd prefer if you let people express their concerns without you feeling a need to dismiss them at every opportunity. I laud what Cakewalk are trying to do in response to peoples expressed concerns. I lament your needless and deameaning input just because you remain unaffected though.

Yeah. It's kind of like, one of those joke things. This is all too precious and thin-skinned for me. If you're cruising for some kind of apology or retraction, or agreement that we should all group hug, and you know, just let it out and cry together, save yourself the time and give up now. It isn't happening. This is a forum about a technical tool that some people seem to want to be a therapy group or something. I can't help with that.

I think it's funny too that a little man pops up from behind a wall and stamps his feet any time one of those nasty, nasty people might point out a flaw in his beloved Sonar... Squabbling? I just think of it as an idle little bit of sport every now and then, although I'll admit it's not so much fun when the target always shows up in the same place. I just engage in it when I want something slightly more entertaining than Solitaire. Call it a weakness of mine if you like, I don't mind.

ProChannel seems to work fine here... Tho I know there is still a (some?) bugs, I'm not experiencing them.... There are a few feature issues that need attention (most specifically the freeze options), but it seems to work as advertised.... That said, I still don't use it as it limits my ability to bring my projects back into 8.5 without pains and I'm not yet that trusting of X1.... Keni

I think that's bloody awful. A few minor bug fixes here and there, yes. Three MAJOR service releases in just nine months?? Are you kidding? And what about all the bugs that are STILL in 8.5.3 and don't tell me they got fixed in X1, I had to PAY to get X1.

Sure. I want it to work as advertised. There are some arguments that are simply not worth making though, and they are getting frankly tiresome. 8.5 is never going to get patched ever again. You know this. So what is the point of banging on about it?

John T 8.5 is never going to get patched ever again. You know this. So what is the point of banging on about it? Because you made a point of saying it's a good thing that X1 was still being supported for free, nine months on. My oppinion, and I think that of many others, is it is NOT a good thing, it is to be expected. Yes I know 8.5.3 is never going to be patched, again I think you're missing/avoiding the point. I paid a lot of hard earned money for Sonar 8 and the only way I can get a version with some of the known bugs fixed is to hand over more cash for X1. Once the bakers get into the meat of the coding for X2, all patches for X1 will also dry up, regardless of how many bugs are left.
