OK, I finally bit on the Upgrade from Sonar X2 to X3 even though X4 is just around the corner. X2 is perfectly stable and has everything I need, but I grew impatient and decided $59 is a good price for Melodyne and Addictive Drums. When I went to my account, the serial number for Melodyne and Addictive Drums both say "Out of serial numbers." Is the X4 release so close that they ran out of serial numbers for the X3 add-ons and decided not to include them (thus the lowered price)? If so, downloading and installing the software would be a huge waste of time and effort for me. Does Cakewalk have a refund process? Thanks

Don't worry about it. Cakewalk is allocated blocks of serial numbers and product codes by third party vendors. It is not unusual for Cakewalk to exhaust their allocation during sales. The numbers will be assigned early next week when Cakewalk staff come back from holiday and get new allocations from Celemony and XLN.

Now that I've purchased an expansion pack I shouldn't have, Cakewalk is going to have to wait for my money if they do decide to release this month. :)

Funny thread. I don't know how I stumbled on this: The perennial PC DAW returns Computer MusicDecember 27, 2013. It made me chuckle. "The announcement last month that Gibson had acquired Cakewalk came as something of a surprise, as did the fact that all professional Cakewalk products would henceforth be released under the Tascam Professional Software brand. Yet none of this double-breasted-big-businessery had any effect at all on the developer's seemingly written-in-stone release schedule - if it's autumn, there's a new Sonar around the corner." My spouse asked me 3 weeks ago what I wanted for Christmas and I said "Something that's not available yet, I'll wait for my birthday (March)". And that's mainly because I'm waiting for another software company to hit me hard (and out of nowhere) relatively soon. I don't think anybody's going to release anything till February now that we're in December without an announcement. So no Christmas present for me.
