Assuming Sonar has a grace period for recent purchasers I'm all for X4 coming out very soon.
Usually that is announced as a "final" sale on X3 stating "free upgrade to next version". But the world does change. We'll see.

As soon as we have something to share, we'll let you know.
In other words, when the hovercar meets spec. Currently it does not, as it cannot sustain hovering for more than 5 minutes. The spec requires hovering for at least 20 minutes, with no angular changes over 5 degrees. I have no idea why Andrew is being so evasive about this. Everyone knows about the hovercar, it's not like it's some big secret.

So X4 will be a cross platform tool? I see that Cakewalk is currently recruiting MAC OS savvy developers. I guess that would point to a cross platform product.

Cakewalk currently sells cross platform products, for example DimPro, Rapture and Z3TA+2, but a DAW is not one of them. The company has repeated stated there will be no Mac version of SONAR. Their synth line for Mac has needed updates for some time.
