The ProteusVX does work under Sonar 64, using the same fiddle as for Vista. You just need to install it using XP compatibility and Run As Admin. After that you're good to go.

I can confirm that KitCore works with jBridge in Windows 7. in Sonar 8.5. It does not work with BitBridge, and will crash Sonar when attempting to open a project containing KC unless it is configured to use jBridge. Cliff

I had read there were some Drumcore issues in JBridge with audio loops but was hoping Kitcore would be immune as it does not use audio loops. What is it with Bitbridge and Drum software Toontrack, Kitcore, and from what I understand Jamsticks all refuse to play ball.

I thought I'd mention that it was posted by Toontrack staff in the Toontrack forum that 64 bit native versions of EZdrummer and Superior 2 are in development and are likely to be released before the end of the year. I won't deny that. As far as what I can say for the record - I can say that in my weekend set up of a new Win 7 64 bit DAW, setting up a working USB wireless network adapter and my email account caused most of the work. Things are looking good.

trevorst-- Guitar Rig 4 x64 worked for me right away, but as an audio effect. It was when changing the plugin properties that I ran into that issue. That made me wonder whether your issue was a registry issue as well. I'm glad you got it fixed. My Win7 RTM is on the way, and I guess I will see then if the same thing happens.

Well this is a really strange one, I have nomad factory producer pack and all these plugins were picked up and ran without a hitch under Sonar x64. Last night I upgraded this to the Integral Studio bundle as it was an offer that was hard to refuse considering the price. Now when I scan the plugins it on picks up 4 of them instead of 40+. I uninstalled this and put the producer pack back on and all plugins from this pack were found. I have been in touch with Nomad Factory and they say have they haven't changed anything just added more plugins. So I am unsure why under one installer I can get all the plugins included, however on the newest one I get only 4.

Okay I am replying to my own post as I have fixed it. I saw another thread about uninstalling sonar and starting again as I had used the web-update to get to version 8.5. This has fixed the problem and also I got rid of the odd audio popping so all is well again and I didn't bother installing the 32-bit version of Sonar. One happy Sonar user again :)

Installed 8.5 64 bit today. All pretty painless so far. A couple hours installing and configuring at the most. The rest of the time testing. I will post a full list of what's working later but here is a quick update. Kitcore Delux and Drumcore 3 CM (free version form Computer Music mag) run with full functionality under Bitbridge 2 dispite a post on the Submersible forums saying JBridge was required for Drumcore and even then it did not find its audio loops. More stringent testing may be needed to see if I can replicate the problem reported by Cliffsp8. Yellow Tools Independence Free needs JBridge. The sound judders and is distorted using Bitbridge 2. Protieus VX crashes Sonar in both Bitbridge 2 and JBridge. Wood67 says it works so I will have to play around a bit. EZDrummer working well through JBridge. Everything else I have tested is working fine either as native 64 bit or using Bitbridge 2.

Anyone got Atmosphere running. I got it installed but cannot get it authorized get stuck on scanning the dll. I ran as install and Sonar as administrator and even temporary turned off UAC but still no go. Any ideas to get this to run on WIn7 64-bit. Have not tried Jbridge yet wonder if that will do it? Also going to contact Spectrasonics tomorrow but they have a three day response time left message yesterday. Thanks. Steve

Kitcore can be inserted and it works inside Sonar using Bitbridge until you try to save the project. Sonar then crashes. I have also configured Drumcore 3 CM to use Jbridge and it seems to be working fine.

Here is a Proteus VX workaround. Proteus VX causes Sonar 8.5 64 bit to crash when I try to load it via bitbridge or JBridge using the JBridge check box in the plugin manager. I have found out by a happy accident if you run JBridger and create a ProteusVX.64.DDL this loads and works correctly. On thing to be aware of is when you close the project or Sonar, it seems to hang. This is because the Proteus "sampler contents have changed" dialogue is active and waiting for a response, but its hidden beneath the Sonar window. Minamise Sonar and close the Proteus Window and all is well. Also be aware that it does take a long time to load a project with Proteus VX. Just wait a bit and all is well.

Glyn Barnes Yellow Tools Independence Free needs JBridge. The sound judders and is distorted using Bitbridge 2. Following up on a post by Strikinglyhandsom in the software forum on Yellowtools Christmas sale I saw that Independence is now available in native 64 bit. I just checked and the 64bit version of Free is on their website. This has opened the playing field making Independence pro a serious alternative to Kontakt 4.

This is all very encouraging. Any way we can get system info Vista home64, Windows7 Pro, etc.; memory amount and maybe chip type might be helpful also. Thinking of making the Windows7 move. I'm gonna install a new HD in my laptop and may just do a clean install. I'm personally interested in any of the following: Korg Legacy Collection DE Novation V-Station ELS Vocoder CSR Waldorf Attack Voxengo AnalogFlux I'm looking to update my dynamics a bit. I'd like to consider any future purchases to be 64-bit friendly. Possible future considerations: URS Channel Strip Pro Waves SSL UAD-2 LiquidMix Anybody know anything???

I can confirm that Soundtoys ECHOBOY works under 8.5.3 with bitbridge. All the Amplitube stuff (including xGEAR) working under bitbridge. I have quite a few plugins that all work under bit or J bridge except one. ALTIVERB will start to work using jbridge but crashes Jbridge quite often. ARAM from Audioease doesn't sound too hopeful that this plug will be ported over to 64 bit anytime soon. So, I am using CW Perfect Space for alot of my IRs but can't access any of those wonderful Audioease IRs without Altiverb.

ccmacdon Mtron pro runs fine.. Virtual String Machine does not.. when I try to load it I get a message that it won't run on Vista. VSM works here on sonar 8.5.2 windows 7 64bit professional. Proteus X2 however doesn't. it doesn't even show up in cakewalk's plugin manager so I guess it doesn't work. Doesn't work in stand-alone either, not even as administrator and XP compatibility mode. This software is not that old yet and the soundsets are still being offered so I'd actually expect Emu to patch the proteus engine to work with win7 instead of saying 'you can buy emulator x3'.
