guylemec olerud You all have forgotten the rule of 96. All Cake hard wear runs at 44.1. In order to run 96 you gots to let your bit bridge jump into the river. The muddy river. The bit bridge will always reset to 32 when you play back. So was it ever really there at all or was it just split and dueled out as the Boston Massacree. The British used 2 bullets per barrel and what was called an Indian or light charge of powder. They also used a special lubricant that allowed for deviant flight patterns. This allowed for 2 kills with 1 shot. If you go 96 you never come back. With 64 your out the door to return no more. Ozone makes 64 the way it is suppose to be. Then you can sleep well after your dirty deed done dirt cheap. what do you mean? Ok... apologies if I'm having a serious blonde moment here, but I'm struggling to decipher your note. Are you saying running 96khz causes issues with bitbridge? And what Cakewalk 'hardware' are you referring to?

Sorry if this has already been answered but I couldn't find any info regarding the Lexicon PCM Native Reverb Plug in and compatibility with Sonar 8.5 - 64bit. Anyone successfully using this product with Sonar in a 64bit environment? I tried downloading their demo but was unable to get it to open up in Sonar. - Gavin

I am using... or trying to use Superior Drummer 2 in Sonar 8.5 producer. The program will load but no sounds will get loaded into memory. It doesnt give me any errors, just doesnt load any sounds. I can change kits, play around as if its functional but I can't load any sounds... Brand new installation of Windows 7 64bit. Sonar 8.5 PE 64-bit. And I thought anyways, Superior drummer 2 installed with 64 bit drivers... any thoughts??

Devin, You need to install the 64 bit version of Superior Drummer 2. The 32 bit version, which is what you have now, doesn't work well with BitBridge 2.

I am working on my first project using 8.5.3 64bit and I am noticing that a lot of my plug-in presets are empty did I load something wrong? I also assume that all of my 32 bit plugins are not available to me in this version like the Cakewalk Equalizer correct? Being a newbie I rely a lot on the presets and tweak those, if I have setup something wrong please let me know. I am looking for a Hi and Low pass filters preset plugin and I can't find one, I am sure it is here I don't know where to look

I just returned a Lexicon MX300 because the VST for the device would not work with Sonar 8.5.3 64 bit. It installs and works with my Vista 32 bit and Sonar 8.5.3 32 bit install, but on my Windows 7 64 bit system and Sonar 8.5.3 64 bit it installs in the Program Files(X86) Creative VST folder but there was nothing I could do, including adding paths to the global VST section to get Sonar to recognize it. I spent a lot of time with a Lexicon support person and nothing he had me try or what I tried on my own (I'm a PC tech) was successful.

The ones using iLok are still 32 bit because there are still no 32 bit iLok drivers available for the Mac. As soon as that happens (which is supposed to be soon), all the other plugins developers will follow (including Waves, Slate Digital, Softube, etc).

Nugen will be adding 64 bit to its plugins by the end of the year. I received this today. Hi, 64 bit is on our agenda. We are now entering the Beta phase for RTAS development, and 64 bit will come after that, so if everything goes smoothly you should see them towards the end of the year. I thought this would be a good place to post what I'd posted elsewhere, since it's regarding 32 to 64 bit compatibility. It's been said elsewhere and I agree. Feature-wise, Sonar 8.5.3 does about all I'd need it do. A polyphonic version of V-Vocal to match Melodines latest, a vocalign type of thing (nice if it worked on out of phase mics for drums too). Those I'd say would be practical, but those really aren't what I'm that much after. I really would like a huge 32 bit to 64 bit repair. Here is a copy of the 'wish-list' I posted elsewhere. Others may have encountered this issue, it would be one great fix... Welcome to Bit Bridge in 64 bit. I have the same issue. Every 32 bit plug-in I use that comes up in Bit Bridge has that top classic preset line (the one Sonar gives us) eliminated. It's replaced by one that's aligned with that particular plug-ins preset-save feature. Unfortunately, it's nowhere near as convenient to use. Making it all but impossible to integrate presets you have in an old XP Pro SP3 system you created those in. The file system Sonar creates to save those in the 'presets' folder is not easily navigatable, making it all but impossible to find those manually. Further, when you open a Bundle created in the old system, even if you've installed the same plug-ins to the new system, in what you thought was the same VST plug-in folder, Sonar does not reference them. anymore. 1) Fix Bit Bridge, so you can open 32 bit plug-ins and that old preset bar will be back on top again. 2) When a plug-in isn't found, an error message pops up, you can click past it. But once the program is open, you see the shell for the old place where the plug in was there, indicating it wasn't found. I would LOVE if Sonar would allow you to chose the new location of the VST .dll, and have it migrate that preference so in the future, it would look there when opening programs from another system where they were installed to a different place. Or even the same place, I think the jump to Win 7 64 bit was what'd knocked Sonar off-kilter on this one. I have so many great presets and I really don't want to rebuild and re-save every one to use them in Sonar, or have to replace manually every single plug-in that errors for not being found in the new installed place. I understand elsewhere someone said it may be from the old bundle I had in XP SP3 32 bit having a 32 bit version of the plug-ins it doesn't find (for example, my Wavearts Track Plug) that is causing this. The new installed one in the new PC is the 64 bit install of that. Either way, this suggestion address that fully. It goes beyond where you installed plug-ins, or what bit version they are. Simply. The plug-in IS installed in the new machine, although at 64 bit. I can open it fine in Sonar. But I can't open a Bundle it was embedded in (sometimes many instances on many tracks) and get it to open. It's really just a matter of getting Sonar to either 'look' for it, or telling it where the .dll is (clicking on the install folder) and from then on, Sonar will 'know'. I do this with my Steinberg The Grand, for example. I moved the sample library it accesses once. I went to open it and it loaded, but couldn't find the samples. But immediately I can browse and find them, and then in the future, it will look where I went to find them, to find them automatically. I'd want this done for the plug-in in general, not each instance. Meaning, if I have 8 Wavearts Track Plugs in a bundle, I find the location for the plug-in, in general, it resolves it, without doing it for all eight. Then if I open another bundle with that plug-in, it remembers where I browsed to to find it (or more ideally, where Sonar would 'auto-seek' it if its missing). A LOT of people are upgrading to 64 from 32, or to different machines with installs in different folders. This is a huge issue to resolve.

Mark D., If you SHIFT+Double-click a Bitbridged plugin, you'll get the window you refer to. You can open/close the plugin's GUI from this new window by clicking/double-clicking the part that says "Bitbridge: Click to toggle VST editor". It would be more convenient to have that integrated to the plugin window, but I'm sure there is a reason why this is not the case. As far as Sonar asking for a plugins location, I agree completely. Sonar should have link that leads to the Plugin Manager (in case of a VST/VSTi plugin) or simply ask for the location of the DLL file that corresponds to that plugin so that it can be initialized again. A batch function would be great too. That would save us a lot of time. Take care!

Thanks for the reply. I will try that. Does it then bring up the old list of presets? I imported them all from my old PC to the presets folder in Sonar for my new PC. As far as the Sonar plug-in location aspect. I just had an epiphany while I read it. What about software developers using Sonar? Anyone know of any? They may be familiar with the 'browse' option they would get in plug-ins that have sample libraries that ask you to find the samples if they get moved. They may know of a process to getting such a button (it can't be that complicated) installed in Sonar. I get that option using PT if I move the samples for one of their included instruments (in version 8 that I use). Sonar should never be bested by Pro Tools, ever.

I just got a Lexicon MX300 and I use it with Sonar (8.5.3. Prof. Ed) on my system Windows 7 64 bit. The installation disc that is apparently not compatible with Windows 7, since it occurs an error when trying to install the drivers and the installation fails. Installing Windows XP compatibility mode does the same. There is a VST for MX300, but because the driver and the installation fails, do not install the VST version.

Glyn Barnes Hi Glyn Please find my recent thread about pops and clicks in SONAR. I want you to be aware of this, as one of the plug ins in your list is currently the issue for me - I have four instances of an M-Tron in one session, and, I am aware that it runs "hot", so I have damped it's output way down - I've been doing that for six months - that gets rid of about 85% of your clicks and pops, but I am still fighting them today. Please see the other thread, not sure if it's in your list, but I also have issue with BDF2 as a plug in in SONAR - it doesn't work with 8.5 64-bit for me. It DOES work for others, so it's not necessarily a problem, but I haven't solved it yet. Best of luck By the way, for sounds, the M-Tron is amazing, I LOVE IT Best plug in I've ever had. BUY IT. You won't be able to stop using it. Except for the clicks and pops of course, but, that's solvable. I love it so much, that I have made an entire album using only the M-Tron (no, I don't work for them!) which will be released early next year (assuming I can solve the popping). www.pureambient.com - see sky full of stars - you can hear samples of the M-Tron in action on the Dave Stafford discography page (at the very bottom). Cheers, D. I know there is a list of compatible plugs in for 8.3 but 8.5 is a different animal and I am hoping the board can help me. I am considering the 8.5 upgrade, percussion strip is a nice to have and SD3 would probably find some use but not is essential as I have a lot of kits between EZdrummer and Kitcore, so the only real selling point for me is Bitbridge 2 (even if it is a case of five steps forward, one step back due to the Toontrack problems) and integrated Jbridge support if required so I can finally go 64 bit and get some payback on the money I invested in my computer hardware. My next big purchase will be Kontact 4 or Komplete 6 and I want to be 64 bit before taking that leap. I would be interested to know if anyone is successfully running or having problems any of these Plugins in 8.5 64 bit. Please indicate if Jbridge is needed for any, Toontrack EZ Drummer - Known issue but works with Jbridge. No need to reply. I tried the free 32 bit version on 8.3.1 32 bit but it caused the VST scan to crash, even though the plugin loaded and worked. There is a 64 bit version which I hope will be more stable. Some of the free third party sample sets soud excellent but are a bit temperamental as you have to match your project settings to the sample rate used in the instrument, and this varies, but what do you expect for free?

Does anyone know if there is a VST -- or a feature in Sonar -- that allows you to easily measure the time between two points in time? I specifically would like to look at drum tranisents and determine the time from the initial attack to the time when the transient starts to delay. Thanks!

Sonar x3 lost VST Plug-ins

Hello everyone, First off let me apologize if I have posted this in the wrong forum topic. Okay, so i have recently upgraded from Music Creator to Sonar X3 Studio and i am oh so pleased. It took me sometime to install it correctly due to the fact that I am a musician not a computer programmer. After installing i needed to route my EZ Drummer to the proper VST place for my X3 which was alot more difficult then Music Creator. Seems that I have lost the routing for the (VST) or whatever it's called DXI file for my Boost11 and the other VST's that correspond along with it (boost11) I have all the VST installed from my music creator. I have found boost11 in programx86 but I am so lost as how to route them to Sonar X3. Could someone please send me copied picture files as how to do this i have a hard time understanding these dxi, etc. file types. Would it be best if i uninstalled Sonar X3 Studio and re-installed it? 8g Ram T. Hard Drive Tascam 1800 Thanks, One newly proud Grandpa

Was there ever any explanation as to why certain 32 bit plugins simply do not even appear under Sonar 64 bit? I have at least one VSTi (Majken's Chimera) that I really want to use, but doesn't load in Sonar X3 64bit at all. I wouldn't mind except I don't think there is any other synth that works the same way so I can't easily replace it.
Sonar Platinum (Newburyport) / Win 8.1 64bit / Focusrite Scarlett 6i6 / Absynth / Kontakt / Play / Superior Drummer 2 / ESP LTD guitar / etc Twilight's Embrace - gothic/death metal | Other works - instrumental/soundtracks

Which version of Majken's Chimera have you tried? I just download the "NEW MULTICORE VERSION" from http://vst.majken.se/ and it loaded and played OK in X3e 64bit.
