Can anyone pinpoint 3 waves plugins which are ... irreplaceable? There is a bass exciter that's very cool. I forget what it's called - the Waves users will know what I'm talking about. It's got the word "bass" in it. I didn't commit it to memory because I never thought I'd consider the company's stuff. When it comes to Waves, I've only watched over others' shoulders, but this bass gooderizer stood out.
All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to. My Stuff

You must be talking about MaxxBass. It's a patented low-frequency-harmonics-frobnobicator thingy. Supposed to work really well. Plus, as noted, it has the word "bass" in it, which you can never go wrong with, esp. when usd in conjunction with the non-word "maxx".

How did you guys update? My WUP runs out Feb. 2013 but when I choose update next to my version 8 bundle it says there is no update available. The fun part is that when I try to contact service the message fails every time I send it!! Bill

Bass Rider is kinda cool if you got a jumpy track. Vocal Rider does the same thing. Neither of these are stellar on their own but since I got them as part of the fullboat Mercury package I can say they're nice.

WAVES x64 Finally GREAT! *Note, even WAVES advertise and say the same thing I been telling you all for year. x64bit plugins and x64bit programs sounds better then x32!! Waves new x64bit plugins sounds better then the x32bit versions of their plugins.

BTW if you have the 64 bit versions you may want to exclude the old 32 bit path from the VST scan path to prevent SONAR scanning the 32 bit versions and bitbridging them. IIRC we handle having both the 32 and 64 bit versions in the same path and pick the highest bit depth, but it will definitely save the extra scan time at least.

Rain Man, that Kramer TTT bundle - that's the sound some of my favorite albums on my own songs!! I shouldn't have demo'ed that one. I almost wish they'd go back to iLock, it's way too hard to resist! I LOVE the TTT. I would have bought my iLok for just that alone. Mike

Well...I took my WUPpin...only I got mine from AudioDeluxe and saved considerable geetus. I hope that's legit. Anywhoo, I await my notification from them fellers at WAVES and will upgrade all to V9 forthwith. I suppose one should uninstall all previous versions of their WAVES first and delete all existing waveshell .dll files, no??

yorolpal I suppose one should uninstall all previous versions of their WAVES first and delete all existing waveshell .dll files, no?? I did it to be safe. It installs new 32bit versions as well. And, as Noel says I organize my system so that 64bit SONAR does not see the same plugs I have in 64bit versions. IOW I have a c:/Program Files/vstplugins(x86) folder for plugs that only come in 32bit and point SONAR to that folder for bitbridged plugs. BTW it's getting smaller by the day, YAY!

chefmike8888 Man... It brought tears to my ears. lol I still have to find out if/how I can use it and retain the spirit w/o making it too 70-ish. But if I ever want to make such an album w/ that much character, there's no need to even tweak those things - you insert them and they bring you there by default. 6 Days left to my demo. I've already spoke my wife into it while we were discussing studio stuff at dinner. I can't wait for her to actually hear it!

OK everything in my account is now WUPed all the way out till feb 2014! Don't know why it's that long...but I ain't complainin. Naw sir. Also recieved my thankee kindly from WAVES and a $200 voucher good thru May for up to 50% off any bundle or plug. Trouble is there's really nothing I ain't already got that I truly want from em. I guess I could pick up the Eddie Kramer Sig set for $100 as it's on sale now for $200...but I bet I have to use the voucher all at one time. Them dang WAVES fellers. They're a crafty bunch. I guess now I got to get me a new USB flash drive for my V9 licenses. Any reccomends as to reliability would be helpful.

I installed Gold V9. When I scan for VST plugs un Sonar X1d Producer it gets hung up when it gets to wave shell V9. It seems to be scanning just fine until it get to that dll. I had GTR solo prior to going to V9. I still have GTR solo installed ( I don't see a way to uninstall it in windows 7 )but I get a nag screen that states it's unregistered. I tried to update GTR solo but it's not active in my account.Any help would be appreciated as I'm looking forward to getting to work with V9. Thanks. Rocky

Juan, I put a ticket in with Waves tech support. It may help if you put one in also. I'm willing to bet we're not the only people having this issue. You're welcome to copy/ paste my text if you want to. I'm sure our issues will be resolved soon but it's a p.i.t.a. in the mean time. Best of Luck. Rocky
