the tape on bus drum :

First keep in mind that if you use 7.5 speed : you give basses defintion while softening the highs

using 15 speed is the oposit , you kinda loose some lows and excit the high ....

So i have a bus Drum , a bus HH , a bus Percu and all 3 goes to a bus BEAT

Bus drum : kick + snare  : watever + mpx speed : 7.5
HH : what ever mpx : 15
Percu : whate ever + mpx most of the time 15 (but some time 7.5 on toms)

Beat : Bus comp (ssl duende or cl1b or puigchild ---to do some mid/side stuf), eq 'soft pultec or clinical Heq for mid/side process),Vcc

on all , no analog gimic .....everytime off ...

Man, Waves Universe is fast. 8 minutes between the moment I order and the moment I got my license!

I know the general consensus is that they're "different", but I personally like that MPX much better than Magnetic.

Do you need a bit of juice to run waves plugs?

They seem fairly efficient. Never had any issue w/ GTR - in fact, it was probably the lightest of all my amp sims, besides Logic's own.

I just tried a little something on a song I'm working on - 18 tracks, the buffers set at 64. I already had 2 instances of Waves GTR and 2 instances of Scuffham amps running in real time, 1 for each guitar track. I also had a few other plug-ins running (EQs and Redline Monitor).

I added 1 instance of HS channel + 1 instance of Pye Compressor on each of the 4 guitar tracks (that's 8 plug-ins) - plus the MPX on the stereo bus. The CPU meter barely moved and playback remained totally smooth.

So my guess is that I'll be able to use HS on pretty much as many channel as I need when mixing full scale projects  and quite a few busses w/ PYE and/or MPX.

That's working on a 2010 MacBook Pro.

FWIW, after I inquired earlier in March, Waves said that any bundle I'd buy would be wup'ed free of charge for a year.

So if one happens to find a better deal elsewhere but on V8, I wouldn't worry - you should be able to get the v9 upgrade free.

Though Waves Universe is hard to beat. They've even got me a better price than the already 50% off upgrade to GTR full. And man, they're quick.
