Hi yorolpal-

Start with something as controversial as this:

Hello Cakewalk-

I hope the forum moderators will step up and do something. Please enforce your own rules about avatars and language, at least, since these forums are open to all.

Thanks-

-Susan

That should do it!

Dont feed the trolls, lets make this forum a better place, for you and for me and for who else wants to embrace.

they are, other forums, but if we care enough for the cakewalk, we'll make it a better place for you and for me.

So who has a low thresh hold of tolerance. Is it Cakewalk or us who use the forum. if it is us...then what do we do. I know keep on doing what we are doing, we know they are many passionate people here. They will voice opinions, some may think in there own lifes that swearing is Ok because that what they do. Go into any studio and make a great sounding track. I don't think it will work because you may not click because you find their attitude vulgar. you don't have to work with them. If you are not having serious issues with sonar, you have not really got any solutions you are an irregular contributor. maybe it would be best for moderators to vanguish them from the forum entirely. just a suggestion. as we do not want to clog up the forums.

I would like to say I really dont like being a silver member how can I roll back to hmmm lets say a BRONZE member any ideas.

Personally I find that the status attached to being a Silver Member is so hugely fantastic that I can't wait to be a Gold member with even more power over those who haven't yet reached those dizzyiing heights of eliteism.

I've been told a billion times to stop exagerating so now I'm using hyperbole.

edited to include something about SONAR to keep my post on topic.

My SONAR am work OK and I'm very happyfied with its performance.

Twigman - it may be your avatar. Self immolation is a rather specialist pastime, and almost certainly is not suitable for kids at prime time.

It'll take several hundred negative posts. In the absence of any official moderator, the negativity of your posts will be judged by Susan (nights) or CJ (days).

Good question. It depends on who's using them.

If you held up "Lassie" and "Leave it to Beaver" to todays prime time TV what would you notice?

Maybe the moral decline and destruction of a once great nation created by Brave men risking their lives seeking a place they could worship God.

I turned the TV off many years ago and now anytime I come near one that is on it is definately eye openning.

People are so desensitized to what is immoral and evil that it comes out of them with out even a blush or fear of the discipline to come.

They are the same ones that would curse the loudest if their 10 year old daughter was raped in front of a camera so people like them could be entertained.

The discipline is coming and the blush will return, and it begins with each one who's eyes are opened.

Heavens to Betsy. I think even "Leave it to Beaver" is evil in its own way. Think about it..."Beaver"? The s**ual innuendo just desensitizes the audience and paves the way for eventual rape-reality shows.

Knock it off, already. Just knock it off. Yes, these men were so brave they killed all the locals and stole their land. Very brave. Then these brave men fought over whether it was ok to own a person and make him work for you. Brave, indeed. Then they dropped a big giant bomb on top of civilians - they did not go after the military that had attacked them at Pearl Harbor. So freakin' brave. This "discipline to come" as you call it, doesn't your wonderful God say that if we repent, confess, say 31 hail mary's, etc. that you get a pass and can avoid the discipline? Or is the discipline that big war to end all wars when the two sides divide up the souls and...well, whatever man. Leave it to Beaver was cool, and Family guy is also cool. Coolness is not attained by being moral, its attained by being cool. And you are not cool. I, being the cool dude that I am, feel confident in judging you thusly. Live with it.

I agree that television is a big de-sensitizing machine. we could save our selfs alot of heartache. Iam glad there is another outlet that will keep us busy for th next twenty years and that is figuring out how to get this Sonar to collab with my cop, my plugs and hardware. then after that make a decent enough song without pops and glitches then mix it down. There is something someone is not telling us. long live the big studios. and the odd occasional home studio recrdist that make it. because they were trained from 2yrs old and up.

for the rest of us dreams can come true. oh and this thead that keeps us busy in the studio (not)

+1. No matter how bad the atmosphere of this forum at any given time, it never fails to sink to a new low until a thread like this is started. Sorry for bumping it.

And Susan: I hope you don't view my posts in this thread as an "attack" on you. I'm just giving my opinion here. This place is and always has been a free exchange of ideas and opinions and I hope it stays that way. Unfortunately, that means some feathers are bound to get ruffled from time to time. Nothing you can do about that except grow a thicker skin and learn to ignore things that bother you. I like a forum that is lightly moderated. It's much nicer than other forums that are patrolled by iron-fisted moderator-Nazis.

I will never make a cd with the words warning explicit lyrics not after I have been in the Sonar forums. I am a changed man.

One of the reasons I do like sonar is because in this day and age they seem to have some ethics about them... and they draw similar people and allsorts of people. Many here make music for their churches using this tool. So I can understand that ruffling will occurrrrr. But I must agree the asteriks used to swear should be curbed! because you kinda a say the word in your head than actually see the word which I think is worse. Sometimes I think they are kids here. But nowadays parents swear like soldiers infron of their kid withoutgiving it a second thought.

It is good to know that they are some people who still care about the damage to society and the little seeds that are sprinkled to turn it into a wild berry bush! So I understand the concerns. And it takes a brave person to stand for what she/he thinks is right.

"The term progeria narrowly refers to Hutchinson-Gilford Progeria syndrome, but the term is expanded to describe any of the so-called "accelerated aging diseases". The word progeria is derived from the Greek for "old age"."
