I thought CJ was a dental technician or something. No? Opthalmic?

Last time I went to LA with American Airlines, one of the flight attendents looked exactly like him.

Before he was a famous mastering engineer I heard he was a famous commercial photographer after he realised 'audio' was easier to spell than 'photography'.

I'm sure he'll come back on with some sort of wise ass response and explanation we'll have to decode. Is there a Cj to English converter on the net somewhere maybe?

That very same Getty stock image is on the cover of the book "Get Creative With Cubase SX/SL" by Keith Gemmell.

There will be some explanation. Trust me.

Perhaps the old studio burned down or exploded, and the stock picture is just a placeholder, until the studio is rebuilt and can be photographed using a fish eye lense?

Ha ha that's the best studio I've seen! And it can be used from both the toilet AND the shower, and we all know that's where humans sing best. If that was his studio I don't know why he upgraded to a fancy one.

Well, CJ is a person with a lot of knowledge and from what I've heard, a lot of experience. I am sure that he can run his business nicely even if his studio actually were in the bathroom, the pictures doesn't really matter;)

Why are you all hating on CJ?

It makes this forum seem like sewer.

We all buy SONAR under the premise of caveat emptor.

Why can't we, as a forum community, let CJ have a go at running a business under the same circumstance without everyone showing their ass?

CJ helps a lot of people here... if any one of us thinks we don't need the help... we are all at liberty to do our own work... there's no need for anyone to share the sort of criticisms I am reading here.

It's ugly.

very best regards,
mike

I also think it is funny when somebody tries to enjoy a reputation beyond their experience and lands on their bum after lying through their teeth.

I don't dislike CJ let alone 'hate on him' but when a prideful balloon gets burst the resultant 'bang' does provide a certain amount of amusement.

His participation here is a great feature of this community, whether he is a help or a hindrance aside from that with the quality of his postings is a matter for some debate, as clearly as he helps some he is as capable of giving a bum steer and a bad attitude to others just as the rest of us are.

If you happily give it out I guess you have to take it too.

I think what you are saying makes sense to me.

I am merely suggesting that we can all have our private opinions and not contribute to the black hole that this forum is quickly becoming.

The most noteworthy part is that the forum moderators should be providing guidance and leadership here... but they are not doing so.

I don't want to argue with my very good friends... but it is my hope to encourage everyone to think for themselves about what this thread symbolizes for our community.

all the best,

The detractors aren't the ones attacking people, though. They are attacking the software and Cakewalk, which are the topics of the forum.

In all fairness, does the rubric on CJ's website actually suggest that's his studio?

There are a lot of 'stock' pictures on there by the look of it - is he really breaking any type of 'trading standards' regulations in the US if those photos are just being use to advertise the nature of his business, but are not actually images of the equipment he uses?

I agree that if the intimation is that the photos are of his studio and equipment then that's pretty sad, but if they're just there to give his new business a professional looking image then surely that's fair use?

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for bashing CJ - but only when he deserves it
