jm24, I'm glad that you have chosen to share your thoughts with us and add your voice to the unacknowledged "many".

I would like to point out that I do not think that any of the changes are irreversible.

Indeed when I see other people offer suggestions that we have to accept the changes as irreversible I am perplexed. It only took about a year to change the layout of SONAR and make it inefficient.

It need not take much longer to restore SONAR to the abilities it had previously.

I feel that we simply need to make our opinions known to Cakewalk at every opportunity.

best regards,
mike

Can't argue with logic like that!

You know, all this clogging up of the X1 forum, which is like, for actual users of X1, with people who don't use X1 papping on about why they don't is:
1/ Tiresome
2/ Ignorant

You don't use it, fine, don't use it. I can assure you, this information that you don't use it is not some fascinating stuff other X1 users have been dying to know.

+1

It's incredibly childish and petty.

Actually, it's pretty akin to a bunch of dudes stalking their ex-girlfriends.

I'm going to start hanging out in the 8.5 and earlier forum making threads about how I'm glad I don't use it any more. Everyone would be cool with that, right?

I believe that a lot of us can run X1 on our machines with stability... so comparing X1s rough start and lack of acceptance by experienced SONAR users to the circumstance of inoperability of some former versions may not clarify any understanding of the current frustrations many of us want Cakewalk to learn of.

Some of us simply think that the layout of X1 reflects bad choices in design... and that concern does not lend itself to comparison with former versions that just seemed to buggy to work.

In my opinion the bugs that made X1 inoperable or unusable before the fix releases were merely a distraction from the fact that X1s layout and GUI design is so inefficient that many of us are choosing to avoid it.

all the best,
mike

That's actually an excellent point. Though I do think X1 should've stayed in developement another 4 quarters at least before it's release. But you are correct IMO that it is indeed the new layout and design that has turned many, including myself off. I don't fault Cake at all for X1. But I think it should've been handled differently. S8.5 should've been tidied up and spit polished before the jump. There would have been less of a feeling of abandonment. X1 was released far too early and the myriad of threads replete with all kinds of crazy issues reflects that. And again, Sonar should've been given a proper send off to ease the transition and not leave so many feeling as though they'd been left hanging. The change had to come but it was rushed and sloppy IMO.

No I don't. But some do. If you run a business you might want to account for that. You don't think X1 was rushed though?

you also appear highly threatened by those posting not so rosey opinions of X1... why? I'd say it's you who really has some issues.

John,
It seems like doing so would be useless. SONAR v8.5 and it's users have been abandoned. No amount of suggesting or complaining about v8.5 will cause anything about v8.5 to improve.

You are stuck with SONAR vX1.... like it or ask for better.

all the best,
mike

John T, et all

Your comments provide nothing positive.
You guys remind me of the Ferengi.
Short, ugly, limited intelligence.

Boorish, stupid and petulant.
No doubt you laugh at crying babies.
That you have nothing better to do than behave like annoying insects is sad.
It is obvious you do not know how to get happy attention. Usually a result of childhood abuse, and neglect, including poor potty training.

I'm doing it again: arguing with morons. What the hell is wrong with me.

Look, it boils down to this. There are about half a dozen guys on this forum who make the same set of not-interesting points day in day out. And on top of that, they dress it up in this lip-trembling hurt and abandonment language. And on top of that, anyone paying attention can see that these are dudes in their 40s and 50s. It's pathetic.

It's like watching a bunch of Star Trek nerds arguing how the Enterprise A is conclusively better than the Enterprise D. The best part is watching them get red in the face when not everyone agrees with their opinion as being the holy gospel.

I hope David Haye beats no sorry I know David Haye will give Wladimir a well deserve beating for making the heavy weight division so boring for all these years.

Yes there is live outside these city walls (Sonar Village)

Maybe when Wladimir retires he will take up music. I for one will welcome him on these forums.

Yo John T, etc.

What will be best for all is you and your ilk putting all your helpful energy into actively seeking Darwin Awards.

Thereby, joining the valiant few who have selflessly, and permanently, prevented a further dumbing of the human gene pool, for the greater good.

Is this how you all behave when someone disgrees with you? You drop snide comments that serve nothing but your own over inflated ego's... g'dam children who've just been told their favorite band sucks.

You see, I'm not doing that. However, your buddy up there is looking forward to my death, and you're happily throwing around the idea that I'm not competent enough to run my own business (which I actually do, so no cigar). The lack of self-awareness is stunning.

You are absolutely full of yourself and I'll point your own words right back at you. It is your lack of self awareness and over inflated sense of self that is astounding. I've stated enough times I'm fine with Cake's move to X1. Whether I like it or not is irrelevant. I've posted no threads bashing X1 and I have no buddies on this forum. I made the point that it is my opinion X1 should have stayed in developent for at least another year and 8.5 tidied up and given a proper burial. That would have done much to cut down on these threads that you hate so much... a sound business decision in my estimation.

Dear John,

Do you mean like, you know, sorta just move on after you call anyone you disagree with a "moron" and just sort of pretend that it never happened?

Was there anything else you want to say before we move on?

Seeking clarification.

best regards,
