I'd really like some improvements on video support. I'd like to be able to drag video clips around in the timeline, it should handle more formats, preview window could do with a refresh in terms of UI (eg, get "full screen" on a button rather than buried a couple of steps down in a cascading menu)... just a general all round update of video.

That qualifies as a new category!
You used a C...... It does exist! I'll have to think for a bit about what I'd like to see in X2. So far the options listed are not deal breakers for me, not to say that VST3 or Gapless would not be welcome, but them not being there would not stop me from upgrading if other features I liked were included.

How do you mean? I've got loads of VSTs that I run multiple outs into Sonar. I've got a track template for BFD2 that fires it up with about ten close mics and three ambient channels, some mono some stereo. Works great. Do you mean something else?

Tough one... I'd probably take audio engine improvements first just for frequency of use, though to be honest I think the Staff View falls behind the audio engine in its current state. So I guess I really don't know which I'd pick!
But my personal # 1 is for automation enhancements - control over ghosted colors, envelope multi-selection, move active envelopes to the top of the list, an improved envelope dialog with a selection filter or tabs that can hide certain envelope to make the list shorter, and whatever else the Bakers can dream up. This is something that's more important to me than gapping, SV, VST3 or video improvements. Not that I wouldn't take all of them!

I want the buttons back that were available in 8.5.3, but even more, I want color customization of the interface and the color preferences updated to only show what can/cannot be changed.

I don't use Staff View so I guess it would have to be the Gapless Audio. I think with x1d it could only be the next best step!
