I was on the fence about going for the upgrade-get-the-update-free deal, upgrading to Production Suite as it's the only thing I can upgrade to, even though I have Producer Expanded and Z3TA 2 already... just to get the expander/gate module. The X2 presale has wiped that possibility off the map, as the production suite upgrade is gone from the store along with everything else X1. Oh well.
I will definitely get X2 fairly early on; it looks great from where I'm sitting. I haven't decided about the pre-sale yet, I have a strong suspicion the Strings pack will not be a big motivator for me - I get along with the Kontakt strings (VSL subset) pretty well and am not looking for another probably not particularly fabulous string set; the demo I just listened to didn't help much. If anyone gets it running and is blown away, let me know!

@subtlearts Yeah, I wasn't blown away by the free string pack either. DSF sound packs don't ever really move me as there always seems to be better options out there for whatever area they're trying to cover and they never seem to be worth the price point.

My receipt says "SONAR X2 will be available before the end of September. You will be notified when it's posted to your store account." That seems like a reasonable way to describe a date of arrival -- at least for the download. Did you mean the actual shipping of the boxed version?
