listen I'm willing to learn something new how did you import your pictures into your post??????? The pics have to be on some web site. Then in the message reply box there is a little icon to add a url. Do this and add the URL of your pic. Alternately, you can click on the "add a pic" icon to insert a pic from a web site. Ken

RogerH skullsession Oh...my bad. That's not X1. It's a pre-Roland issue of Sonar that worked out of the box. Sonar 4 or 5? Yeah...you caught me. That's Sonar 5. I do almost exclusively AUDO only. And although I've upgraded to almost everything in between then and now, I've regretted it every single time. TOO MANY of the functional things for audio (bussing problems, routing problems, etc.) were initially broken in all of the releases, so I wasn't able to make the transition. And by the time folks said the new versions were working well, I'd lost enough faith to go back and try them. I really don't have time to mess with things that don't work properly. MAYBE someday I'll load up 8.(xx) again. There are a lot of long-timers here who still say that was useable. The several months of X1 not working well - even after subsequent updates - was enough for me. I didn't need ProChannel that badly after all. I finally learned to stop trying to fix things that aren't broken. Not another dime. For now.

Oh, and I like your twin 6's...nearly got a pair myself but couldn't fit them on my desk.... Dean The Twins....single handedly the best purchase in my life. I demoed them from Vintage King for about a week before purchase. The mixes I did during that week were translating to other systems with no surprises, so I knew they were right for me. Good thing too...because I was also looking at Quested and Bigfoot....and the price got pretty steep after the Twins. Previously I was using some KRK Rockit 8's and really having trouble hearing stuff all through the midrange. I bet I burn 10% of the discs I used to when checking mixes. There are just no surprises.

trimph1 @skullsession....how did you manage to get those foam pads to stay up on the ceiling? The couch looks like a good place to hear what comes out!!! I just bought some hardwood 1x2's. Stained and clearcoated them. Built "U" shaped brackets with them and attached them to the cieling. The panels just sit on those brackets...about 4 inches from the cieling. The cloud above the mix position is 4" of the OC 503. There are 12 others hanging from the cieling that are 2" thick...so they're about 6" from the cieling.

Truckermusic What a very nice set up there Sir!!!! Did you make all your traps? They look good. Clifford Yes...I dove in and made them myself. Really quite simple once you figure out the particular way that works for your setup. And, of course, it's so much cheaper. The thought of doing it was much more daunting than the actual task. And so rewarding in all aspects of tracking/mixing.
