Awesome thanks :). I "ordered" it. Although now when I try to view the details of the order it says I'm not authorized to view. Not sure if that's another problem.

Was really scared I would have to stay on Cubase with it's crappy windows system... WooHoo! All good now - Thanks so much Andrew! Cheers, C

My order isn't even in the system yet. Still I only ordered on Nov 1st and Cake have been sorting it out since Nov 4th. I shouldn't expect miracles when everyone's stretched to the max as they are at release time. I've been visiting this circus annually for a couple of years now so I should know better than expect things to run smoothly. Sorry but the Valium doesn't work any more and sarcasm is my only way of getting a little stress relief. I keep promising every year will be the last time I subject myself to this but I see the pretty lights and get sucked in. No-one to blame but myself really.

I started downloading last night. Compared to a few days ago, (when I re-downloaded a bunch of my other Cakewalk products) it's VERY slow. This morning, 8 hours later, it's still trickling along. And... I've got a cable Internet connection, one that's on the faster end of things (I know it trumps my DSL at work!) I restarted a few of the files this morning... still trickling... Another 8 or 10 hours and I should have all 8 files. (If you guys paid big bucks for the fancy server upgrades, you might want to check into a refund. ) Kurt Schulenburg

And now the store is closed due to overwhelming demand... What did I say about getting money back from those upgrades? (I'm not REALLY complaining... it's just that this is SO obvious. I can wait a day or two, Cakewalk has always come through for me in the past.) Q: How long will my download take? A: We can’t determine this without knowing your connection speed. We have revamped our download delivery system to give you the fastest possible connection. Q: Should I wait to download SONAR X1 when the volume of people will be less? A: No. We have revamped the download system to scale up if required to handle the volume. The amount of people downloading SONAR X1 will not affect your download time. Due to high volume and the incredible demand for SONAR X1 the Cakewalk Store is temporarily unavailable. We are performing some updates and hope to restore service as soon as possible - our download servers will continue to work during this maintenance period so if you are in the middle of your SONAR X1 download service will not be disrupted.

Two overnight download tries Tuesday and Wednesday but still nothing to show for it. Of course Firefox download helper won't pick up where it left off. I just tried Orbit downloader and it won't connect. Am I forced to buy the box or is the server going to hold up during tonight, tomorrow night, etc.? I'm thinking the files should broken up in to smaller files with the option of larger files for the luckier downloaders. It shouldn't be this frustrating.

Stick with it, Keebo! I finally got mine... only took about 24 hours, two computers, two different Internet connections (1 DSL, 1 cable)... and lots of persistence. Man, I wonder how Cakewalk's gonna spend all our money!

Congrats on being one of the lucky ones, screech57. I hope you enjoy. I have another download started with 15 hours to go for just one of the files. If this fails, I will try at work tomorrow. If that fails, then I guess I will opt for the DVDs in a tree. So much for being green. I kinda doubt they will spend our money on beffier servers.

Well, I finally bought X1 Producer and boxed version. I just couldn't resist the new Pro Channel. I also like the screenset feature, multidock and all of Skylight! Can anybody tell me if just installing the main X1 program will work, since I have SONAR 8.5 already installed? Thanks Cakewalk for the new release! I am so excited to get started!

Yes, X1 is installed to a completely separate folder from 8.5. I do not use Dimension nor Beatscape and did not install them, and X1 works fine.

riojazz: Good news, and thanks for the reply. I'm downloading the main X1 program, now. My boxed version should arrive in a few days. I can wait to install anything else sometime after it arrives. I just don't want to do a lot of downloading, especially stuff that I already have. The way I see it is if I do a scan of VST instruments using the Cakewalk plug in manager of X1, it should find my already installed, Dim Pro, Beatscape, Rature, and all the other VSTi instrument, as long as I include the paths in the VST scan.

Yes it should find it if you point it to the right folder. But some have reported problems with Dim Pro asking for a Valid Serial # and even when you put in the right one it still asks for a valid Ser#. Now I didn't have any problem with my install. But I am on XP not Vista or Win7. If you do have a problem with Dim Pro, there is some info on the forum to help out. It involves a edit of the registry.

This is not an official Cakewalk support site. You need to go to the Cakewalk Online store and log in to your account to see if the links are there, or contact Cakewalk officially and directly. Info to contact Cakewalk is here: http://forum.cakewalk.com/tm.aspx?m=2153831

3 weeks is completely and inexcusably disgusting! Mind you 12/8 means mid August this side of the pond... I'm glad you posted here as I would imagine you'd have tried pretty much everything else by now. How any company can afford to leave a single customer floating around like this these days is beyond belief, but trust me I don't believe you are alone in this for one minute if that is any kind of comfort. By any standard it is an outrage!

Call support! I've always just called them whenever I have any kind of problem (and i'm overseas) - they are efficient and friendly and I get at least an answer, if not a solution, right away. Now, mind you, I haven't actually had to call them in a couple of years now, so I can't say for sure if they've put in one of those evil, evil automated support line things, or farmed the whole thing out to Bangalore, but last time I called I had a helpful human in Boston on the line relatively quickly.
