SONAR Color Schemes

Now that SONAR (as of 6.2 or later) allows you to import & export custom color schemes, I thought it would be nice if there was one place for users to discuss and share links to these user created schemes. So I'm making this a sticky for now. Please limit the discussion to the topic as much as humanly possible. Thanks and enjoy.

EDIT: I'd like to thank Rothchild for hosting a very nice page and for helping to create a one-stop-shop for SONAR Color Schemes

Rothchild has also thoughtfully provided some detailed instructions as well.

Thanks for the post. I like your color scheme and layout alot. In fact, I'll be using a variation of your toolbar setup. It definitely helps eliminate some clutter by moving a row of toolbars to the bottom, and another to the side. Nice :-)

I have a question reguarding the Toolbars meny though. What does Allow Wrap mean?

    Thanks.

NOTE - To get black MIDI previews on the Track View clips without making the notes black, you need to add the following to CAKEWALK.INI, just under the [Wincake] section:-

    PRVUseForegroundColor=0

Quite why Cakewalk changed this after Sonar4 I'm not really sure.

    cool. have fun with it.

@lion; the toolbars are definitely more manageable that way. i've duplicated the transport functionality somewhat with that bar on the bottom but i dont like how the transport cannot be docked. i dislike those floating types of big transports and prefer toolbar variety.

    sonar is quite customizable.

if only the toolbar buttons were, that blue really distracts me on that earthtone skin.

    My Color Schemes

I prefer the "Prodigal ColorClips" one currently.

[15.Aug.07: the original page and schemes were lost in a web hosting shuffle. I have recreated the page and put two of my favorite schemes there. However, they are now in .CLR format for 6.2, not .REG as previously.]

Too many oranges, reds and yellows makes it look too much like classic Cubase, especially with the black waveforms/events.

    mauryw and jinga8,

    Of course you can.

If you have Sonar 6, then I just could export the file.
(Its doable in Sonar5 as well, but with another approach)

The file is just 12kb, but I dont know where to send/store it.

Either let me know your emailadresses or instruct me on where and how I could put/send it.

    No not at all.

I guess it would be easier for all who are interested, If someone could harbor the file on a server somewhere.

I've just put up a small page here: http://sonartemplates.googlepages.com/home

Anyone who wants to post a colour template but doesn't have the tools to make it available is free to email it to me at: popworks at gmail dot com

I will post it to the webpage at the next chance I have.

grymmjack and stickman would you mind if I post your templates up there so we there is some content to get started with and as 'proof of concept' ?

Thanks a lot for these theme! I really really like what you did with a lot of it. I love the greys and the variuos colors you used on the left side area(whatever that is called). I don't particularly like the bright colors used for the track clips. And I think I don't particularly care for the darker colors used for the PRV background. Is that what someone else noted and fixed in cakewalk.ini?

This export file does make it a lot easier to take stuff from different themes and combine them to suit own tastes. I hope this will become the beginning of major theme sharing frenzy...

Be my guest. Note that currently the new "big time" display in the track view is barely visible, you have to tweak the color further. The schemes are 6.01 vintage....

    Hey CJ,
I have a number of M$ Certifications, they are nothing. I learned more from reading and doing on my own that I did from any classes or crap like that, and I took quite a few. I also started pretty late , with regard to age, but I'm happy!

I was using Project 5 today and enjoying its interface rather much. I figured why not make a Sonar 6 color scheme in its likeness ...

The file is available here Once you are on the site just right click on the name of the color scheme and save target as.

Thanks to Rothchild for hosting :-)
