This mic is unreal. Just finished a student session. She never sounded so good. I found that despite being in the basement, I'm still not immune to rumble pickup. Using a steep highpass at the mixer helps a lot, but I may still go for a shockmount after all. I really like that one Lance linked to. Hey Lance... does the metal mesh pop screen work well? If not, can it be removed easily? ( I already have a pretty nice pop screen.)

Losguy, I also ordered two of the suspension mounts that Lance recommended. From the photo it appears that the pop filter is removable. Most of them are usually.

Duh - I should have looked that the item description; it says right there that the screen can be removed! Still, it is nice to know that the metal screen works well, since now I can have two mics w/screens at the same time!

I ordered one last night. The musician's friend shock mount was on sale yesterday for $10, so I grabbed two. Does anyone else think it's weird that only one website on the internet appears to be selling this?

Hey Lazarous! Are you also familiar with the Alesis/GT Am62 Tube Mic. I just bought one on Ebay and awaiting its arrival. How does it compare with the AM61? The 62 originally sold for $ 1299. I paid under $400. Hope I didn't get taken.

Hey, Jay... I replied to your PM. The AM62 sounds almost exactly the same as the AM61, but with more pattern options. You'll love it. I'd say it's worth every penny of $400. Congrats! I'm waiting until after the new year, and then I'm buying two more SP1's. Hopefully they keep the price the same! Corey

I have 2 and was thinking the same about getting 2 more. I've tried these on just about everything and they just seem to work. Did 2 acoustic guitar pieces over the weekend, used 1 SP-1 and a 57, sounded very much like you were sitting right there in the room. Try one on an electric guitar amp about a foot out, straight on to the speaker. Sounds great to me. If you don't have at least one of these you'd better get one while their still around. Check out OktavaMod, he's doing a mod on these for a fairly reasonable price.

Welcome to the forum, O.Gill. You might want to check your caps lock key. All capital letters is considered SHOUTING, and I don't think you meant to convey that idea.
