Hi Guys, I'm not seeing greyed out presets or cabs here. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places. Can you give me a specific name to look for so I can check it out better.

SixFinger, May be missing something, but the rebuild from 3 to 4 was semi automatic on my system. Previous stomps and racks, cabs from Amp 3 were automatically there in ver 4. Took awhile after opening the preset browser to get all the previous presets recognized. Don't have any custom presets from 3 in the program, so can't testify if they come through. Should work however. As far as I can tell, everything from Amp 3 (stomps, cabs, racks, presets) translate to ver 4. Only question I ain't resolved yet is if ver 4 is some cosmic upgrade into "hyper realism", or after all the hype, a minor tweak of ver 3. Still searching for the silver bullet they claim is there. Doesn't mean it is not there just because I haven't found it yet. John

It's the "Speaker" options that you don't have all of RT...unless you own "all" of the available Cabinets already. There are several cabinets that I don't own, and therefore those speakers show up as Transparent (not available). You have to own the cabinet that contains the speaker for it to show up on the list. I don't have any presets "greyed out", just when you select one that you don't own "all of the equipment" used to make it it tells you "you don't own "whatever" and it will be bypassed...

Down loaded it, but didn't have much time to play with A4. I dialed up one of the JCM 8000 crunch presets and played with it for a couple of minutes. I thought that amp sounded pretty decent.

After playing with A4 for a couple of hours I honestly I can't tell any difference from Amplitube 3. It looks good, but sounds the same. The speaker swapping thing got on my nerves instantly. I much prefer just picking an amp with matching cab and moving mics around. I guess for those who want or need a looper...well, it has one. On the bright side. I've always liked Amplitube, so sounding the same isn't the end of the world...it's just a bit disappointing. S-Gear is still king.

Yeah, not bowled over. I have the stock Amp 3 and now Amp 4. Under the amp 4 selection are 51 presets in the miscellaneous tab. For me, 32 of them would not load completely due to not having A particular amp or stomp. Starting to look like a continuing sales revenue vehicle.

You select the tuner in the signal chain thingy, then down the left towards the bottom (above input level) you select 'Ultra Tuner' or 'Tuner' As for sound, I have been playing around a bit more, and when comparing the Mesa Boogie collection in Amp3 and then Amp4, well to me there is no comparison, it sounds much better to me in AMP4. I don't think I'll be doing hundreds of comparisons, but I will do a few more, and then just put it through it's paces for a couple of days, the weekend is here, then switch over to Amp3 and see what my ears say. Still all in all I am not that impressed by Amp4 as yet, there is no 'WOW'

I read somewhere (KVR, The Gear Page IDK) that you have to manually drag in your old presets and change the extension. I'll spend more time with it this weekend and see if I change my mind, but first impressions are it's A3 with a face lift. It's a very nice face lift and I do like Amplitube...so I'm not complaining, if it sounds like I am. I've been able to achieve good sounds with A3, A4, S-Gear and my HD500X...so it's a good time to be a guitar player!

PS- to the crashing of Amplitube 4 with Win 10 and Tascam US 4x4.. I ran it in compatibility mode to set the Tascam up. I no longer get the device error and subsequent crash. I suppose the thing to do to close the loop and set it back to normal and see if it was just the ASIO setup in Amplitube that was causing the crash. I'll go see now and will PS this post when I find out the answer, it may help someone else.... PS -works fine, just a slight detour for I/O driver. More to add, I can't listen to the guy doing the Groove 3 vid... Too much southern accent, almost like he was trying to overdo it.

I pretty much agree with the "no wow" factor after goofing with it some more. I do think the speaker cabs sound a bit better...and I like the RedPig amp. I also, unlike Clint above, like the speaker swapping feature, the different rooms and the mixer. I was able to get a really cool vibe in a two amp setup by swapping speakers around. But again, no "OMG this hyper-realism thing is fantastic". Not by a long shot. Dern it.

I was probably a bit harsh when I was talking about the speaker thing. It's a feature that can be ignored easy enough. I don't use 90% of what Sonar has...for example. In time I may want to switch a speaker...so it's nice that it's there.

I did the file extension rename before I posted. That made the files show up in A4, but they didn't sound like the old presets, not even close. I could rebuild them all from scratch, but that would be time consuming.

Yes they are. Jam points are awarded based on purchases. Credits are purchased (only). If you bought 100 Credits you are allowed to use (up to 30% of the purchase) your jam points. So, for you today, spend $75 and use your jam points an you'll have $100 in credits.

Well, my first impressions are good. I have been noodleing on my electric baratone dulcimer for the past hour or so and messing with the new routings, amps and the rooms. Somehow it seems to be less noisy that 3, but that's an impression not a A/B comparison. I like the rooms a alot. I also like the acoustic simulator pedal, I would not say its totally realistic but it does give an acoustic quality to the sound which I like. As others have said, not a wow, but a solid update none the less IMHO.

hmmmm, I think the jury is still out, but for someone who didn't have any previous Amplitube gear, the full price of $149 would leave you with a very bare cupboard when compared to what you can get with something like BIAS FX Pro for an extra $50, or TH2 for an extra $20. I wouldn't pay the full price, whether or not it was worth the $99 pre order price, well that's what I am checking out, it is growing on me a ' little' (but so is that rash) and I did say a 'little', it's not terrible, it's just nothing special, and it is better than Amp3, but I didn't think that much of Amp3 so . . . There are some nice sounds to be had, but it's not even close to my preferred sims. It is a good marketing tool, as IK knows and is taking full advantage of, as the good folk here have already worked out, although I see no missing stuff thus far, but I do own everything available prior to release.

From my vantage point, it seems most folks sell just amp sims. IK is big on selling presets for the sims they sell. So Bias will give you more sims, but less presets for them. Tweak or no seems to be the diff to me..........or I could be wrong.

Yes I have Revalver 4, ( and 3 and 3dot5). Well if I had to choose, I would go for Revalver 4, if nothing else just for the tweaking available, however I did find the component tweaking much better/easier in 3/3dot5, but . . . In 4 you have to be able to follow the schematics, but just for simple stuff like changing out the pre or power amp valves can give so much versatility in sound variation. But it all depends on what your ears like, what sounds good to you, %90 of the time I would say Revalver sounds better, the other 10% I may say Amp4 sounds better, 100% of the time I would say BIAS Amp Pro, BIAS FX Pro or TH2 Full sound better ;) [Edit] I remember in Revalver 3dot5 listening to some amps, Orange I think, and thinking these things sound like sh!t, then never using them, them latter on when I had a bit of a mess around in the tweaking section, futzing around power amp valve and bam, my ears were in heaven.

Id say it would be more accurate to say they are big on selling presets which contain items that most people may not have, thus enticing them to go out and buy said item :) I think if you are selling something, it would be far better, and some may say far more 'ethical' that it's presets were 100% self contained within the product. ( Not me, I own the lot, but I can understand that thinking) BIAS has loads of presets, ( and what's more loads of 'TONE' glorious 'TONE') especially when you dial in ToneCloud, it can become practically unlimited, granted there are some stinkers to be had from the herd, but there are many from people who know what they are doing, and are nothing short of awesome.
