I have an old version (Amplitube 2) I sort of stopped upgrading my IK stuff some time ago (I have Tracks v1 for instance!) What with all this talk of Jam points and gear credits, thought I would go and check my account and found (somewhat to my surprise) I have 74 Jam points. This must have been from when I upgraded my Sampletank, which I was really forced to do, as the old version was not working too well! The other products either work just about OK or I simply don't use them anymore. Now it seems a little confusing as to what you can do with these - is there a clear explanation (like a policy document) anywhere, so that I can try and understand the system? And Gear credits - you but these at face value and exchange them for gear?? Why not just pay? Both extremely stupid questions I am sure but If anyone could enlighten me I would be eternally grateful Nigel

I had 125 jampoints. I bought 120 credits for $69.99 using 30 jam points. I now have 112 jam points. I guess I didn't qualify for the extra jam points, but I had plenty. So I will spend $69.99 for Amplitube 4 and have 20 credits left over.

bluzdog This looks like an awesome upgrade. The one thing still on my wish list is the ability to host vst effects. That would make ARC and all of the T-Racks effects useable in stand alone mode. It seems like current AT3 users should have an upgrade path that is more reasonable/rewarding than a first time purchase. The current credit promotion only helps if you have existing credits. I have 10 which doesn't really help. Fortunately I have plenty of jam points. I think I'll wait until the dust settles, hopefully before 9/16. Rocky
I agree, being able to use other vst's in T-Racks would make it a knockout. In Amplitube would also be cool.

Bajan Blue Now it seems a little confusing as to what you can do with these - is there a clear explanation (like a policy document) anywhere, so that I can try and understand the system? Ah, you need the books "IK Multimedia Marketing for Dummies, Vols. 1-3" which explain how to navigate the labyrinth that is the IK shop. All your questions about Credits, Jam Points, Group Buys, Custom Shops, Bundles, Expansions, License Transfers and all the other mysterious IK concepts you may be wondering about are laid out in exacting detail. Complete with pages and pages of charts and graphs showing how to hit that elusive "sweet spot" where you maximize the value of your IK purchase using innovative and thoroughly tested quantitative-analysis-based strategies. Available now for an undisclosed number of Credits, with a maximum of some percentage of unexpired Jam Points applicable to the purchase, or included in one of the Bundles depending on your current Gear list or whether you've recently participated in a Group Buy during a Summer Strummer Sale, with the caveat that everything is subject to change and therefore an Upgrade to the books will occur to reflect any new rules, with upgrade prices subject to the rules outlined above. Seriously, there is some confusion about the AT4 "upgrade," which isn't really an upgrade at all, but a new product containing five new Marshall-based amps, new cabinet modeling and mic/room options, and some new effects and other features. If you don't already own AT3, you apparently do NOT receive all the gear included in that product with the purchase of AT4. If you DO have AT3, AT4 does not supersede it but installs alongside it. Any Custom Shop-purchased gear you already own, like the branded amps (Fender, Orange, ENGL, Mesa, etc.), will work in AT4. Still unclear on whether the generic AT3 amps (like the unbranded Vox or Roland models) will work in AT4, or if you need to run those in AT3. As with all things IK, it's not as simple as it first appears, so make sure you know what you're getting before plunking down your cash (or credits, or ...). Cheers, Eddie

Yes, there will be an AmpliTube 4 Custom Shop with some gear (not including the new amps added for AmpliTube 4) and limitations to other functionality.

OK...I've finally had time today to check into my status at IK... I've got 32 gear credits and 121 jam points. What's my best option?? If Johnny has three apples and gives me one I eat it and toss the core into the wastebasket...how many eggs does that leave in a baker's dozen if they're traveling towards me on a train going 50 miles an hour while I'm riding a bicycle in the opposite direction at the speed of light?

I have AT3, Total Studio Bundle 3, Miroslav (both versions) and upgraded T-Racks to Grand, plus I bought all of the available T-Racks stuff ....some via a group buy. I also got 5 AT3 expansions via a Group Buy. I just checked and I find that I got $10 Loyalty Gear Credits and still have some ordinary ones, so AT4 went under half the intro price for me. Cool! Michael Remember you can't use Jam Points and Credits on the same purchase. It's one or the other and Jam Points can only be used on/up to 30% of your purchase price.

If you only use Gear Credits, how many Gear Credits are needed to purchase it? I almost exclusively use S-Gear, but do sometimes use the Fender Collection of Amplitube 3. So, I may get Amplitube4. I have lots of Gear Credits. So i would need to know what the price is for purchasing just using Gear Credits if that is possible.

I *think* the best deal is to use Jampoints to buy enough gear credits to purchase Amp 4. The gain here is that the number of gear credits you get is higher than the amount you have to spend to get them (and Jampoints gets you 30% off the gear credits price). So, you can get 87 gear credits by spending $52.50 (where you've reduced the price by 30% using Jam points). If you had 13 credits in your account already before that point, then you will have purchased Amp 4 for $52.50. Otherwise, you have to spend $70 either to buy it directly with Jampoints or to purchase a 120 gear credit pack. In that latter scenario, you get 20 extra gear credits in the process so you're still better to purchase the gear credits.

So...I've got 32 gear credits and 121 jam points now and need 68 more gear credits for the upgrade. If I buy 75 gear credits using jam points to pay for 30% of them it will cost me $50 bucks out of pocket and at the end of the day I'll still have 7 gear credits and 96 jam points left. Have I got that right? Edit...I'll actually have 19 gear credits left because I'll get 12 extra with the $75 purchase...sweet.

As long as we're all into math: I figured that I might as well spent $112 (134.99 - 30%) for 260 credits and get AT4 and the Stealth Limiter for 225 of those credits leaving me with 45 credits due to 10 previously existinging credits for my future shopping pleasure. Rocky

ugh I want Vox and get amp4 sudo 4 modeled marshalls. ARGGGGGGGG. I have a wopping 6 jam points. woohoo loyalty bonus. over labor day weekend I was at Guitar Center drooling over a 100 watt Vox. I live in an apartment. it would have ripped the concrete from the walls. It was $700.00. then I thought nono I need to buy S-Gear fro $120 and use headphones. now Amp 4 comes out (is coming out) and ....STILL no Vox and $99. I wanna win the lotto and buy a house, a Kempler, an Axe FX II +, a wall of Vox amps , a hot female intern to hit record at my beck n call while I hit fretted notes. I'm gunna go lay down and dream. maybe there will be a IK Amplitube group buy in the future. I'm almost positive there will be. Where are Gear Credits located if you have the in your IK store? all I see is 6 jam points but I don't even see a place for gear credits.

Hey, Clawbaby! just bring up the custom shop, click on the "add credits" and you'll be routed to the buy zone... remember, the deal is on right now... I cashed in my jam credits and got a 35% discount and bought into the mid level quantity for under two hundred... BTW, you don't need the VOX... just plug ur guitar/bass into your interface, route to your daw, slam Amplitude in an effects chain, wip on some headphones and you are in mega bliss... and no one else knows! As to the credits, they are listed at top left... after buying Mesa Boogie, mine says, "Welcome Dana, you have 210 credits left" . on the next line down you can click "add credits" and the deal you are buying into is stated in the description. I'm awaiting the IK email discount on the upgrade but am itchin' to just get A4... Apartment, huh? Gosh, that sucks mega... If you lived in Oakland, I'd rent you a space on my urban farm!!! Amplitude and headphones are phenomenal... we live in an amazing time. Fortunately for me, I have a cottage overlooking a canyon and creak with 14 chickens 30 feet away... a blissful recording environment!
