OK, I lied (unintentioanlly). I had not cleared cookies.

Thanks Bapu. Interesting that this was a requirement for you. I'll see if I can reproduce and investigate.

In case anyone else is having difficulties getting an error message when you try to activate - cut and paste the link into your browser instead of just clicking on the link in the email.

Whoa it works! I've been locked out for some time. Very confusing so far. Followed the steps and followed the activate link and that was rejected. I've been in limbo, confused as to what password would work. None did. Just now my original password before all this started let me in.

Very confusing.

Sorry if this is obvious and/or posted above, but I did not see it on first pass and it took me a few minutes to figure it out.

^THIS^  is what FINALLY worked for me.

I started out trying to log in as normal to the forum - no luck.  I then tried the "Lost Password" button, entered my user name and it came back with "user does not exist" (which naturally was a surprise, I'd always kind of assumed I existed though it does explain some of the people I meet).  At this time I realized that we HAD to migrate so I selected the migrate button, filled everything out and, eventually, got it to send me the authentication email.

I clicked on the migrate authentication link from Outlook and it didn't work.  Then I tried right-clicking, selecting "Copy Hyperlink" then pasting into the address bar of Chrome and that did NOT work (it kept saying I had broken the internet).  I then tried the "Lost Password" button which worked this time and sent me a new password.  I attempted to log in using that but it kept saying invalid combination of user name and password.

FINALLY I saw the comment above and gave it a try carefully scraping the whole link, hitting Ctrl-C, then pasting it into Chrome's address bar and... it finally validated me.

I just hope that the less-tech savvy members find this thread and figure things out!

Same here. Selecting 'Copy Hyperlink' did not work. Manually selecting the link in the email and then pasting to the address bar in Internet Explorer finally did the trick for the confirmation/activation email.

Ditto.   What I found in the end was that there were to equal signs at the end of the URL (==)that weren't being included.   After copy and pasting the link and then adding the ==, that finally worked for me.

Wow, what an ordeal! As above, I had the "Internet Broken" message after clicking the validation link. I tried all of the above suggestions, clearing cache & cookies, different browsers, copying and pasting the link instead of just clicking on it, nothing worked. I even thought OK, I'll create a new account so I can get on here and ask for help. Guess what, the new acct activation link gave me the same message, "Internet Broken"!  AAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!

So, i'm not sure if this is coincidence or just a freak of nature, but as a straw clutching exercise, I copied the two == after the link into the browser (along with the link of course) and it worked!!!

Hope this helps someone, i've been friggin around with this for ages.

I submitting this feedback but am wondering if anyone else is missing TruePiano in the new My Account.  I see it listed in the old My Store Account.  Also, I thought the old My Store Account used to have a download link but I don't see it anymore.  Anyone else?

This post should have been entitled, "PLEASE READ THIS TO CONTINUE USING THE FORUM."  From the title, I had no idea I was supposed to read this and I could not get logged on.  To make matters worse, I now have no idea if I am supposed to be using my Cakewalk ID (like when I buy stuff) or my forum ID (which is less strong).

This was / is a very messy implementation, to say the least.  I am slightly tech-savvy, but it was still quite an ordeal to understand the WHY's and HOW's ...
More detailed information should have been given up front (why wasn't an eMail sent out with these impending changes, etc.).  I was totally surprised that I "did not exist" after being a Cake customer for over 20 years !

Did you read #1 and #74? This was done for a reason and it will be sorted soon.

Cut Cakewalk some slack here. I've done migrations like this before and you have no idea how much work goes into this and no matter what you do there are things you cannot foresee. There will be teething issues and posts that state the issues here will be helpful to them. This seems to me a pretty successful migration I'm sure work will be going on this week to resolve issues as stated in this thread. I'd like to congratulate Cakewalk so far. No pain no gain...

Do you have a different email address listed for the store than you have listed for the forum? If so then there is no link between the two thus no access to the account. That is the same message I get and is exactly what I wanted (and spent the past two days trying to get set up).

I just remember something that was REALLY annoying when trying to sign back in the first time. It wanted do the Verify Your a Human" thing (which is hard enough for me to prove at the best of times... lol) but the captchas were absolutely impossible to read. They were all smeary and poor resolution. I had to keep clicking the "try another test" link to refresh the captcha at least 15 times before I got one that was legible enough to type in.

I've never had to refresh a captcha more than a couple times before.

Anyway... no biggie and there is always the option to get an audio test to avoid that (which I don't like doing because it's a download and I don't trust that) but I thought it might be something to look into. Not sure if there are other verification providers that could be used or whether you can crawl up the arses of the current provider but that was indeed an extra headache amongst an already harrowing process.
