Got a new one - Broadcast waves (time stamp info) on all project audio as standard, would be really handy if you had a complete meltdown with your sonar project.

WDI V-vocal is only important for someone who can not sing. At which point they should not be singing. Like me. What, and restrict your entire future compositions to a life of instrumentals? No thanks. I NEED V-Vocal. Thankfully it's always worked perfectly for me

John T I'd really like some improvements on video support. I'd like to be able to drag video clips around in the timeline, it should handle more formats, preview window could do with a refresh in terms of UI (eg, get "full screen" on a button rather than buried a couple of steps down in a cascading menu)... just a general all round update of video. + 1 for Video.

Staff View - much needed [for me] Gapless would be nice. Chase long Midi notes. great when editing, when there is long legato or Arp sections going on in other tracks. Garry

melmyers Since "Staff View" keeps popping up so much on this survey, I have a question: If Staff View is so important to your work, why are you trying to use X1 in it's current state? If X1 were missing some element vital to the work I myself regularly produce, I would have already moved on to another program that delivers exactly what I need. Instead of bludgeoning Cakewalk to improve a feature that an obvious few care about, it would seem easier to move on to another program and actually get some work done. I appreciate X1 for the vast amounts of quality work it helps me create. I'm glad Cakewalk prioritized many other improvements over the Staff View, but if I needed Staff View before I could properly produce work, I wouldn't blame Cakewalk...I'd simply go out and buy a program that does what I need. Less griping = more working. This is a feature request thread. A lot of the criticisms about Staff View concern more recent changes where Cake BROKE a previously working workflow. I don't think it's out of line at all to request change - it sure has been a long time coming. I also think, that if this poll asked for everyone's top 1 and 2 choice, staff view would come up a lot more - in my own case at least, Staff View would be my number 2.

VST3 first, Staff View, or an intelligent interface (via MusicXML) with Finale second.

I rarely get involved in threads, primarily to avoid getting into debates over opinions, as can be seen in a few previous posts in this thread. But I do want to take part in this poll, so my vote is for: Staff view improvements

More clip fade/crosfade in/out options + customization of it. A better bus structure, more organized, maybe separated by type like, a section for FXs, a section for groups, midi, virtual synths, rewire, etc... A input bus (to record with plugins been processed) Remove metronome from bus section (this is quite a particular need) And the gapless stuff.

I'd like to drag and drop complete tracks and assigned buses from one project to another. I do many "versions" of mixes and I'd like to be able to drag one treatment of an instrument from one mix to a different mix easily. Just highlight which tracks/buses I want and drag over with everything in tact... automation, fx, and sends then drop in second (or third, fourth...) open project. I know there are multiple ways of doing this (with multiple sequential steps) I would just like an easy way to do it. Probably not a huge request for most users...

Yes, thank you. There is clearly more support for improvement to the staff view than just a couple of users.

Scrolling Inspector View... so you can see the whole console strip w/o going to CV, like in Sonar 8 and before.

VST3 is a given since Cake will HAVE to stay current with that if they want to be competitive. Therefore, I vote for gapless

If you get X1 Expanded, you can scroll (with the mouse scroll wheel) to see all that's in the ProChannel, if there is a need to do that because of adding a number of modules. But if you can't see all that's in the Inspector View, you need to get a monitor with a higher resolution. I know one with 1680 x 1050 or higher will be sufficient.

a control bar that fits in the screen would be nice. or a re-work of the control bar,it would be really awesome if you could take pieces off the control bar(the transport) and dock them anywhere..im not talking the whole bar..just the pieces.

With you on the CB chuckebaby. I like the concept but it needs developing. I think it was John T that posted up a mock-up of collapsible modules. That would be great. I of course would like the visibility state screenset dependant, i.e. I can have it open in some screensets and not in others. ATM it's about the only thing that isn't possible to do that with.

True, but I was thinking of those less fortunate like I was who's laptop only goes to 1280 x 1024 on a 15.6" screen. X1 is definitely designed for 1920x1080 which I do have on the desktop and now also on my new 17.3" laptop so its not really an issue for me anymore. But for those still using lower res's it would be nice. This new laptop is awesome but it exacted a hefty toll on the ol' pocket. Steve
