I've just uploaded the corrected version that has Stylus removed from the template. One other thing that I'm not 100% certain is working as I hope it would; CamelCrusher (the effect on the "tube enhancer" bus) should be set to "Ultra Phat". That said, you can change that setting to something else to see where it leads you sonically.

Another note of interest. If you like this workspace enough for it to be your default launching space every time you start up Sonar, rename the file to normal.cwt and put it in the Sonar "Sample Content" folder.

Cheers,
J

I renamed this file a few weeks ago and love the fact that it starts up with Sonar.

Thanks Man!

The Windows version of CamelCrusher should be in the zip file.

Jonas:

Sorry if these are dumb questions but...

Would it be possible to discuss some of your bus routing? I think I see where you're going with the Left/Right Sub Master busses but would love a more indepth explanation of it's uses.

Also I found some outputs that didn't make sense to me, i.e. the Small Verb bus was output to my sound card and not to the Sub Master.

With the sends you have set up for the Kick and Snare and those routed to the Sub Master, wouldn't you get FX bleed when you're soloing something other than the drums? I normally run seperate FX on the drums and route to a Drum Sum. Maybe I'm not looking at this correctly.

Thanks for whatever light you (or others) can shed on the subject. Just trying to learn.....and let the flamming begin!

The Small Verb observation is a legitimate catch! Thank you. I'll fix that right away. The second issue is a matter of preference. Your approach is equally valid but more CPU intensive.

Peace out,
Jonas

I've revised the template to reflect the Small Reverb routing issue. I also made the miniscule correction of setting the output on the flanger all the way up and I changed the tempo delay settings for slightly longer rythmic values (1/2 and 3/4 to be exact).

Now I'm just waiting to hear some music from all of you

Hi Gang!

This is the day you've been waiting for! I have revised and expanded my free mixing template. There are more compressor settings, EQ settings, more reverbs, etc. It incorporates many of the effect settings that I've posted in this forum over the years as well as some ideas that I've borrowed (specifically, the stereo splitter routing). None of this is revolutionary, but it's nice to make the most out of what you have.

You can download the template from my signature.

Blessings,
Jonas

Hey Jonas, this looks like fun,

Do you have a schematic available to identify the buses routing. maybe someone could create one for you.

ps how is reason pianos treating you ?

Thanks

Spence

I like it a lot! I also own Ivory, which is a surrealistically beautiful sounding piano set, but I could never get it to respond well to my non-weighted controller (Nord Electro). I've tried all their contoller velocity adjustment tools and none of them worked. Reason Pianos works terrific with all my controllers right out of the box. Reason Pianos have a wonderful earthy quality to them (they sound like they could have been recorded in your studio....not super-perfect) and the ability to mix the various microphones fantastic. I particularly like mono Royer ribbon mic. It brings the piano forward in a great way.

I'm glad to see this thread bounce back to life occasionally :-)
