Been busy buying new seat and some bloke from up north of the border keeps pushing his music. (Most excellent that it is)

I haven't been there in quite some time. Not to post reviews.
I listened to a few yesterday.
It's a good thing I don't review. I'm an opinionated ass and don't like blowing smoke so for the sake of piece I keep my mouth shut. If I mentioned out loud what I thought of my own recordings I could get jail time.

I think it would be cool if Bapu sponsored a song contest with winner receiving a custom Bapu made t-shirt.
Elect a panel of 5 judges and a short limited time frame that the material must be written and recorded in. All posted in the same place, in the same file format, in the same thread.

Maybe Beagle could handle contributions to cover shirt cost and would probably receive enough to have a cash prize to go with the shirt.
Well you asked....:)

I'm actually starting to agree with Robby's occasional rants - shock, horror - there are now so many people posting tunes but not commenting on others that it's grinding to a halt. Shame really.

It's that time of year, and someday it will warm up. Has not been a good Winter of normal-ness.
I listened to some, but a comment, well what can be said.

I have other forums I read also, but I guess this has been the year of fixing computers and whatever is breaking down.
I fail to see the economy in some of this helping others when the Help Section of Sonar is there although it is nice to Help, and too many questions on some forums and rantings given by others that lately there seems to be no need for the Internet either anymore.

Now back to whatever I was doing and looky, looky look at the Buffalo!

Yup, there's been a me, me, me culture for some time now. It got particularly silly about year or so ago and it just turned me right off of it. I do look in occasionally in the hope that it's gotten better, but it doesn't seem to. I can't be bothered to post stuff now - seems little point when most are just interested in  themselves or keeping themselves at the top of the page.  I don't even listen to that much any more as I make a point of not bothering with those who participate only in their own threads, which seems to be the majority. It's quite sad really, there used to be some great songs and some great people in there and it seems that many have become equally fed up with the way it has gone and moved on.

Yeah, I noticed a guy with 3 posts to his name - 1st post was a song, 2nd post, another song, 3rd post, bumping his first song to say 'kinda dead around here huh?'

I don't get "up there" much but, when I do, I'll listen and give the best review I can.

My only issue with the whole "review my song" schtick is that you're actually expected to listen to the damn things!  I much prefer it down here where whatever came before probably isn't relevant anyway so I can just add my overpriced 2 cents worth to the bottom and move on to the next thread.  It really doesn't even matter what I write since everyone else is doing the same, ya?

Ah, so we should demand that

1. Only good songs be posted. Then the reviews will be appropriate.
2. No one should post any songs (especially the bad ones), and only reviews should be done.
3. Musicians should not want recognition for their efforts, WTF were they thinking?
4. The songs forum should just be shut down, it pointless anyway

"1. Only good songs be posted. Then the reviews will be appropriate."

Dang, I guess I'm out then.

I wish I had more time to spend there. January through May is our busy time at my company and it seems like I don't have the time for much of anything lately. I put in another 12 hour day today. What's even worse, usually I can find a few minutes to goof off while working....not lately. I used to at least get a chance to listen to most peoples tunes while walking the dog. A good thing I guess...but lately, because I am only home for a few hours, my daughter and wife have started to walk in the evenings with me. So the good news is I enjoy their company, but the bad news is that I miss my listening time.

Maybe the Songs forum had died because Paul McCartney is the greatest composer of all time and really everything else is just nowhere near as good and worth listening to.
