In Samplittude what is the equivalent to ‘bounce’? Any particulars with it? And under what menu tree is that found?

Boy am I tired of reading new manuals and interpreting between the different DAWs.

I do far more freezing than conventional bounces, and Samplitude does have freeze/unfreeze that's just as convenient as SONAR. You can also drag frozen audio to another track, something else I do often in SONAR.

The bounce dialog in Samplitude is under the Tools menu (Tools -> Track Bouncing).

Samplitude does something that I've only seen in one other DAW, which is the concept of "virtual" projects (VIPs). Basically, it's a project within a project. You can, for example, bounce your VIs into a new virtual sub-project and then work on them as if they'd been audio files all along. The VIP remains part of your main project, and you can switch back to the original at any time. (Caveat: I haven't actually used Samplitude yet!)

Thanks ! This helps. Looking at more Kraznet videos today.

The Independence content download (70GB) took about three hours for me. My nominal speed is 50 Megs. I did it in the middle of the night -- unintentionally. Clicked "download" at midnight not knowing what to expect, ended up going to bed. In the morning I had a message that said something like "Download Successful." But the next day when I tried to use Independence in Samplitude, it asked to "install" the content. I told it to go ahead, and then it couldn't find the content on my PC. Neither could I, so I ended up downloading it again as part of the install. Haven't looked yet to see if I have an extra 70 gigs of stuff hiding somewhere.

So this is a US promo.....could anyone who got the deal and downloaded be so kind and check/confirm that the software can be set to other (i.e. German) languages as well?
Thanks in advance

Edit: couldn't wait :)) ordered. Am looking forward to testing stability of this product.

It's developed in Germany and Magix is a German company so there is lots of support for German and English speakers. The forums are in German and English too.

Stability; very stable for me so far. The audio engine is fantastic and very robust. I had an issue yesterday, posted it on the forum and another member identified it as a bug and reported it. Development seems to be very user orientated.

Splat, Win 10 64bit and all sorts of musical odds and sods collected over the years, but still missing a lot of my old analogue stuff I sold off years ago.

I bought it.  What the hell.  I know I have use for SoundForge and I'm totally loving what SpectraLayers Pro is capable of doing.  Those two programs are worth the price of admission.

I'm having a pair of work boots resoled for $50.  The guy has had them for 4 weeks and they're still not done.  So it was easy to justify $149 for what I'm getting.  And yes, I bought Studio One 3 for $126 a couple weeks ago.  When in your lifetime are you going to see that offer again?  You'll have to wait until another DAW you're using folds.

IMO - Buy it! :)

Oops, you're right. It is under the File menu.

It's also nifty how you can bounce regions. You could do that in SONAR too, but not as easily. I often export snippets, such as a single drum hit, for use in a sampler or another project.

I am unable to register any of the products (on the Website or in the programs) but was able to activate.   I've emailed tech support. I know there is an issue with two Magixs Websites.  I created a second account.  No go.

Anyone with the same issue?

I don't know why that price was so cheap.  On the main site X3 alone is $399 yet the $149 deal seems to be legit.  I think this "unable to register" thing has me wondering...

Vegas is not part of the Samplitude Pro X3 Suite offer

Update: Picked up Vegas using this deal. Vegas works like other MAGIX software. There is a small program that downloads the Vegas installer and optionally runs it. Like other MAGIX products the full Vegas installer is cached in your "Documents\MAGIX Downloads\Installationsmanager"

I downloaded to a custom location: D:\Downloads\Magix\Samplitude. But when it came time to install the content, the installer reported it could not find some file, I forget the name. I searched my download folder and I couldn't find it, either.

I always use defaults. Then move the folders to my desired location and add directory junctions back to the defaults. Seems to be a reliable method.

I need to start doing that. You posted instructions some time ago about making directory junctions. Could you point me to that post? Many thanks! (Haven't seen you on the Samplitude forum, but looking forward to it.)

The easiest way to find my posts about mklink is enter this in google:
site:forum.cakewalk.com scook mklink
I have also posted how to create junctions in powershell, search google for:
site:forum.cakewalk.com scook itemtype
There are quite a few examples in the threads. Note: by default Win10 only provides powershell but if mklink is preferable just enter cmd at the powershell prompt to enter the old DOS command shell.

If you have a specific case you need help with post the source and target folders and I will provide the syntax. Learning directory junctions is an extremely handy skill. There are tool graphical tools available on the net but the command line is easy and worth learning.

I have a question about Samp for those that have been using it. How does it compare to Sonar on CPU usage? I haven’t seen another DAW with plug in load balancing but I’m wondering if it’s because other DAWs don’t need it or have settings in them that accomplish the same thing. I essentially use soft synths (some of which are heavy on CPU) along with quite a few plug-in effects during mixing after I’ve frozen all of the synth tracks. I noticed a nice overall improvement for the most part when SPLAT implemented plugin load balancing and am hoping to find that other DAWs (particularly Samplitude with this great offer) won’t hiccup with my workflow.

Just an FYI.  The Independence 70GB download is not in the Help/Download Instruments & Sounds menu.  Only the Independence program is downloaded.  It seems you can only download all of the samples for Independence though the program itself.  Set it and go to bed as it will take many hours.

I set up key binding for a quick [ Shift T to select all on the active track ] and then [Shift G to Glue] - This is actually faster than using the track pull down menu to bounce in Sonar. The track editing is crazy fast and accurate using Samplitude. My biggest problem is getting used to the mouse wheel in Samp. I'm constantly trying to navigate the track view vertically.

The instrument is not very large. The sample library though is 70GB. I have a pretty fast connection and the files were not served anywhere near my connection speed. It took 20+ hours to get the sample library.

So I will try to download the Instrument. Is the Free one the same? I had downloaded before.
Is there any other way to download the Library separately?

The free one is not the same. The library is a separate download. The opportunity to download the library happens when the full version of the sampler is run.

Is it even worth to download Independence and it's library? I've read that it's not even close (sound wise) to the quality of Kontakt instruments/libraries/NI's Komplete etc (which I have)... I also have SampleTank 3 with about an 80GB library which I rarely use.

Just wondering what you guys think of the quality of sounds/instruments in Independence?

If you already have sample libraries, the Independence download may be underwhelming to you. I have not drilled into it very deeply, but did not find things I didn't already have and I do not use Kontakt. Biggest downfall is that 70GB is an all-or-nothing thing, no ability to pick and choose.

Definitely download at night and go away from the computer. I found that just using the computer starts to throttle it (even with no other internet usage). It came up full throttle for me at 2AM EST, but before that was choked to around 200KB/sec.

ASUS ROG Maximus X Hero (Wi-Fi AC), i7-8700k, 16GB RAM, GTX-1070Ti, Win 10 Pro, Saffire PRO 24 DSP, A-300 PRO, plus numerous gadgets and gizmos that make or manipulate sound in some way.
