I too have signed up numerous times for the "Cakewalk Newsletter" to no avail.  Even sent an email to Customer Support.  They responded  that  I was added on Sept 11th of this year.

Still no email/ newsletter from Cakewalk.

Everyone else bombards me with email.  What gives?  This should be so simple but lots of us have the same problem.  WHY?

Same thing here, signed up years ago and have never received a newsletter.  Tried to sign up again only to be told that I'm already signed up. I'd forgotten all about newsletters until I read this thread.

Cool. Are there any additional steps we need to take to properly enroll or have we automatically been enrolled as X2 Producer owners already???

Might want to look back through this thread -
While enrollment doesn't appear to be "automatic", it doesn't appear that enrolling / signing up for the newsletters provide consistent results, either...

Having said that, X2 (and X1) ARE cool software packages!

Thanks guys...but this has been an ongoing issue that Cakewalk is aware of and has nothing to do with
the "safelist" setting...

Cheers!

As I posted in my tech support e-mail reply -

As you are aware from the forum postings, this is not an isolated case.
Many of us are experiencing these issues, with similar "symptoms" -

We receive the tech support responses and Cakewalk registration/serial number information, but are NOT receiving any of the newsletters or announcements.  In my case, the e-mail provider spam filters are on the lowest possible setting, and my e-mail client (I use MS Outlook) saves any e-mail ID'd as spam in a folder that I can review - nothing is automatically deleted, yet nothing shows up in the folders from Cakewalk.

Since so many of us have been having this problem for so long, perhaps it would be a good idea to send and trace a test message to the affected accounts, then let us know, either on the forums or via tech support e-mails, where the issue may lie.

This is a "common enough" issue that it appears to be more than just simple spam filter settings for the end users.
And while I'm sure some would consider this issue trivial, many of affected have spent a lot of money with Cakewalk for many years, so it would be nice to be part of the "I received it, too" crowd...

Thanks!

Re:New SONAR X2 Producer Content Club 2012/10/05 13:07:57 (permalink)
Great idea... how do I sign up? I have used Sonar since S-2 XL, I prepaid for and downloaded Sonar X2 Producer. I have exchanged PMs with Cake, I have used the page where you sign up for emails... the only emails I EVER get are when I buy something. I get the receipt etc, I go and use my account page to download but I NEVER get any other emails. I did not get an email concerning this. I use Outlook Express or Live mail, whatever they call it now. I have no "junk mail" box, only an inbox.

What the heck is the problem that no matter what I do... Cake cannot seem to get me on the email list?? I have the constantly check and watch the forums so I don't miss out on something.

Franky, I don't think I am unreasonable but I really do not understand what the problem is.

Actually, it was not PMs, it was email with CS and the case ID is "Case 17129". After it didn't work the first time I was told that "they" looked deeper into the database and everything should be fixed going forward...
I guess I gave up for a while... if anyone at Cake can help fix this, I would appreciate is, if you can't fix it, just tell me so.

Frustrated...

I have been around long enough and have followed this very topic on numerous threads to realize it's not someone's spam filter. The fact is this: Some people will not get Cakewalk's advertisements or special's emails no matter what they do!

There is some kind of glitch with the emailing software that Cake uses. It seems to do alright sending out reg numbers and stuff like that, but when trying to get the word out about advertisements and specials that's when the trouble starts.
Only guessing here, but since it seems to be the same people all the time, check to see if the software is erroneously placing them on the 'I Do Not Want To Be On Mailing List" data base instead of the correct list, thus stopping the program from generating an email for that person.

I went through the signup procedure and it told me I was not subscribed. So I went through the subscribe procedure. I don't know if I will be one of the people who do not receive newsletters but, I did not receive a confirmation email about subscribing... which is suspicious. Did anyone else get a confirmation email?

I have a suggestion for a future 'gimme' - how about Cakewalk stickers?

I remember way back when Sequential Circuits was one of the first to have these and I think I recall a 12 Tone sticker with a happy walking keyboard in trucking mode.

Nowadays I get some with Live and NI gear, but that's about it.

I did buy a Sonar X1 coffee mug, but nothing says tacky like a sticker.
