Some absolutely lovely fingerstyle jazz guitar playing here, Tommy Crook is out of this world. The bass notes he plays are a perfect accopianment to himself.

I know 80's Genesis gets a bad rap sometimes, but their 1983 Genesis was a favorite of mine as a kid and I'm just going back to it now. Some of the tracks on it really showcase their pop songwriting capabilities, there's some great arrangements and melodies on them. Genesis really knew how to put chords together. I love how the chords progress on Home By The Sea, an excellent master class in how to harmonize a melody.

Brings back some good memories that album. There's a lovely turnaround that Tony Banks does on 'Silver Rainbow' that I always looked forward to.

I saw their Mama Tour back in the 80's and that particular concert is what got me hooked on to other Genesis albums.....the light show was done really well (for that time) and fit well with the music. Good times it was.....

I'll tell you what's weird, if you listen to the "side" info of that YouTube video. Very phasey and swirly. I listened to the same song on Spotify and the side information sounds normal. I wonder what's going on with the YouTube version? It sounds OK when you listen to it in stereo.

There've been so many great renditions of this old favorite, but this is one of the best. It's also one of the best examples of vocal mixing I've ever heard. Keep in mind that there are no instruments; the Hans Zimmer-like percussion is all handclaps and footstomps with expert compression and great-sounding reverb.
If you liked that, you'll like this one, too...
All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to. My Stuff
