LOL - James, you must be round about my age you old bugger!

A bloke round the corner still had one running until recently, the green paint job was actually in worse nick than the wood, but it went OK.

Very similar to this one mate

That's 'Mr Old Bugger' to you, young whippersnapper! I'm 47-and-a-bit y'know...

My first car was one of these, I paid £175 for it...Louise (the present Mrs G) almost collapsed with laughter when I took her out in it!!

Still working on the quiz...

Sorry old bean - I know my place oh golden one.

My first car was a Ford Cortina Mk4 2.0 Ghia [OOJ 301R]

This one's pretty similar, mine was two-tone though, brown and rust!!

Good motor though, I kept it for four years and it didn't cost me a penny.

I learned to drive in [and then used to borrow until I got the Cortina] my mum's Fiat 128 - what a car!!

Do you want a clue with the quiz?

Steve

Edit - you must be watching Top Gear too!!

lol. My first car was a Fiat 128. Lots of fun to drive, great in the snow, and it even fared well when I rolled it down a hill.

Bob, that is so true, the transverse engine mounted right over the FWD axle could pull it out of anything - I wasn't afeared of taking it anywhere and it never failed me.

Mum's was a white 1.1 litre 2 door and me and my mates trialled it at 0 - 60 in just over 13 seconds; I reckon we'd have broken 13 if Id have ever got round to clearing all the sh*** out of the boot and rear foot wells though! [SidStrummerUK can vouch for the rubbish]

This is the closest I can find:

Good memories though - nostalgia's a thing of the past you know.

Q1 - Irrelevant
Q2 - Who said the song was on the radio?
Q3 - Is that tele-vision or tele-caster
Q4 - The fire engine is red

In reference to Q1 You would not catch a Red Blooded American Musician driving a station wagon unless it was a 1957 Chevy Nomad Wagon preferably with the the small block swapped out for a 427 or 454 rat motor. So it is extremely relevant to us folk over here in the Colonies.

In reference to Q2 Radio, MP3 player, live band it's all the same. Who's playing?

As for tele; let me use the American term then since were talking American here, Tube not to be confused with a valve. Cathode ray , Flat or plasma again type is irrelevant. But what's on the at the time is relevant.

Ok with the final answer being red. It is surely a dream and the only escape is down the rabbit hole with Alice. You see red fire engines are soooooo pase here. Ours have long since become that funny greenish tinged yellow for the last 20 or so years. Thought the resuce truck here in town is red. But since it is a rescue truck it does not qualify to be a fire engine. So again, it has to be a dream.

Heartwarming Christmas tale:

Imagine my unadulterated joy and happiness when getting the Christmas decorations and fairy lights from the attic when I stumbled across an ornately wrapped present I'd fogotten to give the kids last year.

Their excited faces, aglow with anticipation, was a picture as they began to unwrap their unexpected bonus gift.

Too bad it was a puppy.

A very sick puppy tale!

My wife came home with a toy Pincher for Christmas (12 weeks old). I sit here typing one handed yet again with a puppy in my arm.
