My wife came home with a toy Pincher for Christmas (12 weeks old). I sit here typing one handed yet again with a puppy in my arm.

LOL - are you ambidextrous Doc, if so, you could double your workload in one fell swoop - just fiddle around on two computers at the same time!

Leaving you longer to work on my education!!

I wish I could say I'd been stringing you along, but truthfully, it only came together this morning.
After you gave us the answer, I overlaid it on the question, suddenly realised what you were telling me earlier, and had an Ah Ha! moment.
btw, do you know the difference between a carousel and a merry-go-round? No fair looking it up!

"And his mind is a beacon in the veil of the night
For a strange kind of fashion there's a wrong and a right"

This is from my own collection James:

I have told SidStrummerUK that when we are rich and famous - 4th on the bill at 'Ye Olde Nag's Head' grab-a-granny night - I will wear this if he continues to upset me by insisting on wearing his baseball cap backwards while laying down vocals.

Sometimes it's worse than that - he wears the bloody thing askew - ASKEW I tells yer - the man has no shame.

Rats.
Apparently there is no difference. I could have sworn that at one time I had read that a Carousel spins clockwise, and a Merry-go-round spins counter-clockwise. I find nothing now that backs that up, although the American versions do spin Counter-clockwise, and European carousels spin clockwise. I'll just got to my room and be quiet.
Although, being the machinery junkie that I am, I have always thought the mechanism of a carousel was fascinating. So many large moving parts, with the precision of a watch.

I reckon they go anti-clockwise over here too Bob.

Maybe it's similar to water going down the plug-hole - we need our southern hemispherical specialist Montezuma to check if the centrifugally enhanced fairground rides down under follow the general rule and therefore spin clockwise.

Might explain why our lot could never read Ritchie Benaud or Shane Warne?

Well "Carousel" sounds very European and "Merry-Go-Round" sounds very American so maybe you're right Robert! So what do you think of Jet Aeroplanes? I'm off! Excelsior!!

P.S. Did you guys see my new baritone guitar I bought yet?

Maybe they follow the Coriolis force, or the anti-Coriolis effect. Duh!

Anyways, I might as well put a pic of me and my new love up! Especially since you guys are talking about Carousels in the Guitar tracks forum! And, because I'm bored!

Hey there Z - how can you be bored with that little beaut!! If you're fed up of it already, I'll give him a good home!!

Now tell your Uncle Strummy the truth - your photo is obviously a still from your latest video realease, it's defininetly your version of Lionel Ritchie's Dancing on the Ceiling ain't it - the bit before the camera angle shifts. Be honest Z, we have ways you know!!

Z! Where have you been? Nice ax! (I bet I'm now going to have to pay Gene Simmons royalties for using that term).

Steve, why are you always offering a home for guitars and basses? Are you a closet gear whore? Come now man, out with it!

Repeat after me...
I love all guitars and basses. I will help my fellow musicians in fostering a good home for them. I will ensure that my fellow musicians will properly care and feed them. And in their absence I will faithfully make myself available to babysit aforementioned instruments and amplifiers no mater where that might be!

Now say Aye!

Aye Aye Doc!!

The reason is this: I work on the 1 in 10,000 hit rule - you know this marketing stuff like the back of your Ibanez [there I go again.... is it lonely - I'll look after it] Doc; when we did a flyer drop for the snooker club you'd be happy with one new member from 10,000 flyers.

Now, I reckon I'm up to about 8 unadulterated begging letters for guitars and gear - once I've gone double platinum on the forums the law of averages will mean I shall have some nice free gear - even if it's just a new pick [or secondhand - one is not choosy].

And I'm as tight as a duck's a***

Best wishes to all your gear

ScroogeStrummerUK

Chap goes to the Doc's surgery...
"I'm completely baffled by your fluorescent orange p***s" the Doc tells his patient. "Does anyone else in your family have this condition?"
The concerned fellow says "No"
"Do you handle chemicals or radioactive substances at work?"
"I don't work" replies the chap.
"Well what do you do all day then?"
"Watch porn and eat cheesey Doritos"

Did you guys finally succeed in scaring him away? I think I'll come back to this thread later when I have more time to read all the crazy goings on. I see Tom has shown off his new geetar here too, sweet! Nothin says "I wanna rock" like posing with your latest guitar in your sock feet and make rock star faces!

Hi James

Do you remember the following phrases:

Mmm...yeah...OK then....are you a psychologist or a musician?

Well...there's a phrase I never heard before....'pinky rock'

ahh, getting all misty eyed now

Hint: Most of this stuff is in the help files

If yes, you need another litre - if no - your copy book is well and truly blotted, or should that be blotto!

Remember the old saying James..............
.......................................................................................... 'cause I can't......

Strummy, keep it sweet n simple and it should fit. You know if it were I, i t would be something crass like "Give me your guitar. I'll keep it tuned for ya."

As far as being around at the big bang? No no. That's the effect when you are flatulent and then go "Flame On!"

Oh and Steve you were supposed to leave your Avatar as the Silver Surfer till you make gold.

Doc - guess what? I need help.

How do you get three thingies in your signature without exceding the limit? If I try that I get a message saying toooooo looong Strumps.

Also - more help please!!

I tried the Lame download but I just cannot get it to run - it keeps asking me if I should associate it with Audacity - I saved it as instructed and opened Audacity and it doesn't seem to have met Mr Lame at all.

I keep hearing Lame is the best of the free converters but I'm stuck.

Thankyou - BTW, James is well up it and Creating Noise is happy that Pete's gone.
