Something I'm still not understanding - The materials for this contest, the ReadMe doc, the .cwp file, the MIDI file are all parked in my Box account. That service sends automated emails whenever somebody previews or downloads the files. Every day since the deadline I get more emails showing me that people are still getting those files---Why? Maybe out of curiosity? They want to run the .cwp file or MIDI file through their set up to see what they can do in comparison to the entries? - I hope they realize the deadline was long ago now--. Interesting. Meanwhile - Vote please - And vote once-- Bitflipper is doing a perfect job of keeping the contest clean this time. Goes to show you - if you want a job done well, have a human being do it. Don't rely on a program - like I did when I set up the Polldaddy page, never dreaming that on some computers multiple votes would be possible, and that contestants discovering that would take advantage of the fact.---and then to imagine that they would come back on this thread and wonder if things were being correctly. You gotta love it. Let's get out the vote! Randy

Maybe it went to my spam folder. What address should the reply be from? It's quite possible that's exactly what happened. It would have come back as being from "orchestralshootout@hotmail.com". Some people just route all hotmail to their spam bitbucket, since 99.99% of hotmail email is spam. But I have been sending replies to every voter thanking them for their votes. I started to compile a list of everyone who has NOT voted, but it turns out that list will have about 5 billion names on it and would exceed the maximum size for a forum post.

LpMike75 Are the notes with each project going to be posted on 9/1/10? Like Bit said, Yes indeed. I have 72 pages currently hidden, chock full of the notes all the contestants wrote to go with their MP3s. What library/synth, the creator, and whatever else they wanted to pass on - Often details about certain problems they had, sometimes talking about their mixing technique etc. I know people are curious about the entries - but I'm really glad we decided to make this a "blind taste test" so that voters aren't influenced by either the name of who did a track, or what instrument software was used. Treppenwitz Has anyone noticed that number 40 stops after about 7 seconds? The others play fine (so far). Hi, Treppenwitz--Thanks for your post. I double checked after reading your message - #40 plays all the way through for me. All of them work. But your cache can get full and cause those kind of problems. If you continue having any problems, use the alternate MP3 page posted at the site. That's simple HTML which is working for everyone who has problems with the Flash site. And thanks for voting! Firefox is garbage Yes, Firefox has issues. Although it hasn't ever broken any DAWs as far as I know. That FF reference was a private joke for Treppenwitz. The last thing I want to do is tell someone what browser to use and then have them hate me forever. Truth is we have a winner already. But it's currently leading by a single vote, so it's only a winner if we stop right now. Anyone who's been procrastinating about adding their votes, bear in mind that you might be making somebody's day much brighter. Or really pissing off someone else. Either way, don't you want to exercise that kind of power?

The answer is simple Tom, with you at 24 posts and me with 503, I obviously have had no clue what I was doing and did not feel like reading the manual, this allowed me to spend my time instead jumping on the foums and asking questions. Questions like "Where do I plug in my guitar chord?" and "I hear no sound when I yell into my computer pleeze help!" After 500+ of those questions Cakewalk has awarded me with a silver status for not reading their manual.
