Hey Chris... very cool. That must have been a rush to be able to work with Steven Wilson.

Oh, I didn't work with him - not yet at any rate.  But it would be an incredible opportunity.  The producer I used to work with also worked closely with Japan and is good buddies with Richard Barbieri who of course plays keyboards for Porcupine Tree.  So you never know...

Yes, all my tracks loaded to S/C are done in X2.  Dial-In was so called because I was writing that while also on a conference call for my day-job...

Hey Matt... thanks very much! By the way, congrats on the Brazilian Wish CD. I checked out your CD Baby page and the music sounds great. I really like the So Close track.

Did you use SONAR to record the music?

Did you use the Console Emulator on any of your X2 tracks?

Hi Scott,

It's almost time fo Sonar X2 Power ! Yes, Amazon has an incredible price...all you other people (not Scott) go order it now if you haven't already.

I hope you aren't offended Scott, but Amazon market place is offering me $10 for Sonar Power X1, so that brings my net cost down to less than $18, for the best Sonar Power book yet! (another reason to get it in paper...you can't resell of have Amazon "buy back" your kindle edition.)

For the two most recent ones (Dial-In and Southern M1) yes.  Been tending to switch the CE on but tbh not really doing much with it beyond that.  I started with the SSL emulator as those were the boards I was used to in the day.  For some reason I'm heading towards the Neve now - I really don't know why but maybe my ears hear something in that emulation that they like.  Or its the snappy looking dials!

Thanks so much, Scott!  My CD was recorded in several major studios in the New York area, and I didn't have a role in the audio engineering.  However, I've done a lot with the project since then, such as making play-along (music minus one) tracks, and I do those in SONAR.  Appreciate the kind words.  You are in good company: Russ Davis at XM Radio also liked the same track best.

Hey Chris... nice. Yeah, the snappy graphics just make you want to play with them.

What's also nice is that quick grouping works with PC controls, so you can select all tracks and quickly switch to a different emulation to see which one fits best with the current tune.

What else is usually in your ProChannel chain?

I got mine pre-ordered on Thursday and should receive sometime around April 9th.
I had bought Sonar 7 Power and it helped me learn so much. I found myself going back to it again and again.
It still sets on my night stand. So I figured since I had gotten so much from that book that X2 Power should get as much use. So looks like Sonar 7 Power will loose it's place on the night stand, and looking forward to replacing it with X2 Power soon.

Hey Bruce... thanks very much! Yeah, a lot has changed since SONAR 7. If you have the time, I would recommend reading SONAR X2 Power! from cover-to-cover at first and then use it as reference. You'll pick up a lot more of the tips that are included throughout the book that way. Be sure to give the SONAR 7 book a nice burial.

By the way, I checked out some of your tunes over on SoundClick and I really like Floyd Sound N. Nice job! Was that done with SONAR?

Scott,
I do not plan to give 7 Power a burial at all. I plan to keep it. But will be happy to have some new info to use to help with X2. Thanks for checking out my tunes. Floyd Sound N was started on a GNX3 effects pedal which also has a built in 8 track recorder. From there I moved it over into either Sonar or Music Creator, but I can not remember which. I think that was like the second or third attempt to try to record or mix anything for me. I am getting much better results these days. But as first creations go , I still favor it.

Hey Bruce... cool, yeah... I like to do that as well. I sometimes start ideas with other devices (like my Android tablet or with different software) and then import into SONAR. It can get the imagination rolling when I'm stuck in a rut.

Here I thought there was going to be a parade today, but amazon still hasn't released the book.

I also noticed that the price of the book is almost exactly twice as expensive in Canada $54 vs $27, something funny going on there.

Hey Lane (Laney)... excellent, thanks! Yeah, Amazon points are nice. Just as good as cash since Amazon carries just about everything these days.

Hey Buz (bz2838)... thank you! I appreciate it. If you enjoyed the previous edition, then you'll definitely like SONAR X2 Power! It includes a lot of new info for you to absorb.

Hey David (Frostysnake)... thanks so much! I really appreciate the support.

So what types of music projects are you guys working now? Just curious...

Thanks!
Scott

Hey Paul... sorry, no parade.  But there will definitely be plenty of promotion. I've got a lot of things planned that I'll be rolling out.

In the meantime, I'm not sure why Amazon.ca is charging that much, but each of the retailers out there that carry the book are independent. Even if they're under the same company banner, they can still set their own price for the book. Neither I, nor the publisher has control over that. It's the same as with any other item for sale on the market. You have to shop around to find the best price.

Right now, I'm linking to the most prominent places to find the book, and most of the time, they also have the best prices. For example, as soon as Cakewalk gets the book into their online store, I'll be linking to that as well.

I'm glad to see that you're so exciting to the get the book in your hands.

Thanks!
Scott

Hey Derrick... I haven't heard anything about a delay. As far as I know, the book is released and now making its way to the retailers. Amazon is showing that they'll have it in stock on April 6th. It just needs time to get from the distributor out to the retailers.

How's SONAR X2 working out for you so far?

Thanks very much for ordering the book! I hope you enjoy it.
