Barned & Noble's listing says "8.40 (w) x 10.80 (h) x 1.20 (d)". That seems to match up moreso with what's been said here. Does anyone find the size of the book OBTRUSIVELY big?... Or pleasantly so?

I find the size is just right - same size as the X1 book I think. I need to find some more space in my studio - anyone want Sonar Power for 6PE, 8PE, X1PE?? Oh, and about 17 years worth of SOS magazines

I am pretty happy with it and I recommend it to anyone who wants to be a sonar power user.

I still have my collection of EM, Keyboard, MIX magazines, etc. They make for good reading, but are taking up too much space Me too. Over the last year or so I've been systematically reading and ditching (where appropriate) my older issues of those same mags, including Guitar Player, Remix, etc... going back to the late 1990's. If nothing else, it's entertaining to read about the "current technology" from 10+ years ago. So far I've gone through two milk crates and 1-1/2 filing cabinet drawers worth. Only half more to go! But I do have some keepers from the 70's and 80s that I could never get rid of... Emerson, Wakeman, Howe, Vai, Hendrix, etc, etc. Ah, nostalgia...

I have a pile that I've set aside for specific articles, so scanning them would work well for me too. Thanks! I think the '88 issue might the one, I think it was around the time he had carpal tunnel in his right hand... though I nay have an older one too, I think. Geez, I can't even remember what I have. I just blame it on old age.

My book arrived from Amazon.ca yesterday! Nothing like "new-book smell" I love the size of this book - and will be careful not to drop it on my 7-pound Schnoodle (um... that's a dog, sickos). This weekend I'll get deep into it, but even just flipping through to random pages brings up info I never knew. And, almost as nice - an email from Amazon arrived in my inbox today to let me know that my pre-order price-guarantee kicked in - $21.10 refund. Excellent.

Scott, recieved your book here in the Netherlands via bol.com. Got Sonar 8 power previously, so I am familiar with your writing style. From my experience and the first look, this book will not only help me teach how to work with X2 but also will introduce some unthought possibilities of what I could do with this immense software package. I will write a review in time on this Dutch webshop's site. Respect! Reading this thread I saw you ask about user experiences with Sonar X2. I just upgraded from Sonar 8.5. While I was happy with that, I can see the enormous potential of X2. It feels it will take my music making to another level. The most sensible way I can think of how to use X2 for the moment, is just experimenting. The results in mixing are different and feel better. And there are a lot of options to explore. I mostly want to use it for midi loop based multi thematic long electronic compositions (like where Tubular Bells meets Kraftwerk). Probably some randomly generated ambient noise and also re-works of downloaded midi tracks from well known tunes just for the fun of it. While I had it, I never have used the matrix view before. I wasn't attracted to it, but I think the time has come to make use of it. Cheers!
