Don't know if this one has been mentioned. Can someone replicate? 1. This is a two part thing, the second part may be "by design" but doesn't seem like it should be. 2. Might be related to the graphical anomolies in the PRV Part 1: In the track view, when selecting across a clip using the select tool and alt drag, the selection looks as it should. Same goes for using the Free edit tool. However, when the Scissor tool is selected and the ALT-drag is done across the clip, there are strange vertical bars that make it difficult to see what you are selecting. Part 2: When using the scissor tool and the Free Edit together, the selection when dragged across the middle of the clip looks correct, but it doesn't perform the same action as the ALT-scissor-drag does. The ALT-scissor-drag seperates the selected are from the rest of the clip, where the Free Edit Scissor drag does the same as the Free Edit in select mode, which is just to select the region. Seems inconsistent, but may be, as I said above, by design. edit: Maybe this changed somewhat from previous versions. I seem to remember that you had to ALT-drag the scissors to select across the clip, but just a drag works. Still has the same graphical "interference", however. more edit: now I've actually just found that this existed in 8.3.1 as well. It depends on whether the aim-assist is on. Wow. Not too cool if this can be replicated, since the primary reason I'd USE aim-assit to begin with would be to line up my selections. Don't know how I didn't see this before...guess I just didn't use aim assit as much as I'd like to. So the question is...can you repro this and has it been submitted already?

Hey Blades, I may be doing something wrong, but I'm not able to replicate the vertical bars that you see when ALT+drag is performed accross a clip while the Split Tool (C) is selected. As far as the second part, when using the Free Edit Tool in conjunction with the Split Tool, you need to drag across the bottom of the clip for it to work. However, the Split Tool does seem inconsistent while being dragged (maybe it's not supposed to work that way?). But it works as expected when you just click on the spot where you want to split the clip.

Plugins and Bitbridge Having been using 8.5.1 x64 non-stop for a couple of weeks, I'm finding that the new Bitbridge has broken as many things as it has fixed. Some plugins that are showing the cracks include: Bionic Delay (doesn't like the new Bitbridge at all in 88.2KHz projects, occasionally emits ear splitting speaker busting cracks and then silences the channel.) Soundtoys Native (still no automation read supported) Flux Syrah, doesn't like projects with multiple plugins and can cause dropouts, non-renders, BSODs with IRQ NOT LESS OR EQUAL when trying to shutdown the project. I suspect that this is because it doesn't like working in RAM above 2GB, regardless of whether it's in a virtual server or not TC Electronics VSS3 can sometimes lose the plug and not be able to reinstate it. Can also cause BSOD if project is loaded on sample rate different from previous project - again when shutting down, often forcibly Softube CL1B - sidechain non functional, unreliable export In particular, heavy projects (70+ audio tracks, 88.2KHz) with lots of plugins can cause very unreliable renders, where sometimes the effect, or the instrument or even the buss turns up silent. All export bugs are based on real time render as the Poco stuff only supports that. iLok based plugs cannot be bridged with jbridge. Plugins that don't pick up the tempo based delay tag on scan Bionic Delay Replicant Echoboy PSP MultiDelay PSP Nitro There's probaby a few more, but narrowing down the crash causes is very time consuming.

donald I've reported these bugs to Cakewalk: Session Drummer 3 being loud - CWBRN-1897 Arpeggiator playing root note in 32nds - CWBRN-1710 Regarding this Session Drummer 3 malarkey, I reported a similar bug and had a reply for the Cakewalk team, asking me if I was running a non-English version, which I did. I then did a clean install of the English version, with the same results. My computer runs a non-English OS, does yours too, seeing as you are located in Sweden? Then the bug may be tied to that. Similar things have happened in the past.

With my setup the Transient Shaper TS64 and LP64 EQ distort the track at the very first few notes simply when added. Muting the fx doesnt help. Deleting the fx from audio track removes the problem. Setup: Vista 64 (SP2), Quadcore, 8 Gigs RAM, TC Konnekt 24D Audio Interface.

Did your bug report include the fact that the selection would actually change (expand or contract) in a buggy way when scrolling, or just the visual corruption that occurs? Because I think they might be separate bugs.

I got "Thank-you for your report. We are aware of this and hope to address it in a future release." as an answer This (with slight variations) seems to be the stock response to any bug report - maybe it's even an automated response. Anyone had a response that says "... but we have no intention of addressing it at any time in the future"? For certain bugs, that would be a more accurate response. The stock response is a masterpiece of appearing to show commitment without actually committing to anything.

I got one that said "thank you for bringing this to our attention, we hope to address it in a future release, here's a work-around" This was for a bug that when zoomed in on an audio clip, dragging it around wouldn't visually line up properly if there were a lot of tempo changes in the project. I first noticed it in 8.3 -- the first time I did audio editing on a project with a lot of tempo changes. It still exists in 8.5.

here's a work-around Interesting that they give you your own private workaround - I wonder why they don't put up a page somewhere on the website that 'fesses up to known bugs and advises the workaround publicly?

This (with slight variations) seems to be the stock response to any bug report - maybe it's even an automated response. Anyone had a response that says "... but we have no intention of addressing it at any time in the future"? I've had:- Thanks for your report. I believe this works as intended. You could accidentally overwrite any default named templates you may have edited previously. I have logged it regardless with development as it does seem a little strange. Thanks. & Thank-you for the report. Differences in architecture between Project5 and SONAR dictated the lack of automation support for PTN files. A feature request has been put in on your behalf for this change. Thanks. So they're not all stock/auto responses @Jose CWBRN-1824 Drums Map prevents Midi Input - status is now Fixed in next upadte
