After they were famous.
Does not count if you knew them "before".
Also, no "I saw him/her on the street as i wlaked by".
Must be someone you actually talked to.

I can only say an "actor" cuz we're both in an Anonymous program.
He's made over 100 movies and has been in numerous TV shows and has done extensive voice overs.

I did meet and talk with Felix Papalardi after a Mountain concert in like 1970.

Don Drysdale---Turns out my mom was his 6th grade teacher.

Ruth Underwood---Zappa's astounding percussionist and the sweetest person you'd ever want to meet.

Little Charlie Baty and Rick Estrin---of Little Charlie and the Nightcats. My band opened for them in the mid-1990's.

Robben Ford---Another incredibly kind person with no "bigshot" syndrome.

Don Bonebreak---of the band "X". Was in music school with him in the early '70's.

Tinsley Ellis---- a total jerk. Yuck.

Joe Craven----from David Grissman's band and, of course, his own solo career. One of the most friendly and engaging human beings I've ever met. If you've never seen his solo act, figure out a way to do so because it'll change your musical life. He sat in on mandolin and fiddle with the band I was playing with at last year's High Sierra Music Festival. It was a real thrill, to say the least.

I was in the Austin airport a few years back. It was the middle of the day, there weren't many people around, but I saw this guy that I swear to God looked just like Brian May staring at the departures board. The more I looked at him the more I was sure it was Brian and it made sense he might be in Austin. I'm still kicking myself for not just walking up to him and saying "Brian?"

Guitar maestro Steve Morse, of:

The Dixie Dregs
The Dregs
The Steve Morse Band
Kansas
(and now) Deep Purple fame.

Met him after a Kansas ('Power' album tour) in Utica, NY (1987). I was a bit star struck / agog, but managed to try to chat intelligently for a few minutes with him about the show. He was (true to his reputation) a super nice guy, very amiable, nice to the fans, and humble. He was also carrying his own guitar case rather than relying on the roadies.

I also met singer Steve Walsh, but he was pretty ticked off about something or other, so he was not so nice to the fans - coudn't wait to get back on the bus. Oh well, at least Steve Morse was a gentleman.

Met Les Paul (those of you who just recognize the name because of the guitar should do some research - the Thomas Edison of recording) and talked with him 20 minutes between shows at the Iridium Room at Columbus Circle in NYC about 10 years ago. Got a framed T-Shirt that says "To Bo. Keep On Picking. Les Paul" in my family room. I spent like $20 on the shirt. It is in a $700 frame. Met Jim Marshall a few years back and had a nice conversation with him.

Musically, got to know the Drifters, the Box Tops...

But most importantly, I played Cowbell on Dont Fear The Reaper last time BOC was in town. Small show. Big Fun.

I met Les Dudek at his show in Florida a few years back, shook his hand and chatted for a couple of minutes.
Opened for him though I didn't speak to him. His bassist let me borrow his bass rig for our bit instead of loading my rig in. Really nice guy.

i have met no one really famous. in the early 70's, while you all were hiking without registering, i did not exist.

i did meet andrew petersen (reece might know that name) and gabe the other guitarist, who also plays with bebo norman (who i have not met).

i did not meet b.b. king but i met his restaurant in memphis. the chicken pasta dish is really good, and so are the blues.

i was in LA once, at LAX. someone in our group was in awe of the unisex bathrooms. sadly, no one famous was there at the time.

Met Jesus once when I was about 14... got into a bottle of bacardi's with a couple of friends, and about five hours later... BOOM! there he was...

Oh... and the Lone Ranger at a car dealership promotion in Branford, CT...

Actually, I've met some pretty famous people, but the best are those that are kinda-sorta-pseudo famous, but think they really are famous... like sportscasters for local TV stations... good stuff!
