Hey, guys! Enough to beat me! :-) Apparently you did not quite understand correctly my answer. The question was: "really is x3d that bad" . I said Yes. X3D not Sonar X3. Why? Simply because after the update on X3D I got some nasty things and not only me. And now I am waiting for X3E or will reinstall my X3 to X3C. But if you ask me "Is the X3 best DAW in the world ?" I say "Yes!"

I just bumped that one so it can get seen again. Hmmm... when I bumped it, I still do NOT see that thread in my listing... says it is X-Series, right?? Maybe the title is too long on it... I would take a crack at reposting that one.

Translation... X3D is great providing you don't copy edited notes in Melodyne (TBC). Good that was a weight lifted, next...

In X3C I edited vocal clips with Melodyne RFX of first Chorus and could then copy them to next choruses... it was especially useful for backing vocals, but for main vocal too... because in the following chorus could do with slight variations already edit notes.

Sonar X3 is awesome and X3d fixed many many minor and even some major issues. I don't get what all the complaining is about. Anyone here ever use pro-tools? Now that's something to complain about.....

I have to agree with you here. It is heartening to see that most (not all) of the bugs that have been highlighted are trivial. X3d is certainly my DAW of choice. I still have to use a few others for work, but just find that Sonar covers so many different workflows/needs that it is the one I use from choice most of the time.

Well from my perspective assuming my bug list is accurate (I emphasise this is just an unofficial list), and if I was to play fantasy triage, bugs are: 15 trivial10 minor2 major0 SHOWSTOPPERS...and more floating around that hasn't been diagnosed. Of course Cakewalks internal systems will be far more definitive and I appreciate people will have different opinions as it's always subjective. And to be honest this is fairly typical as far as "visible" and "perceived" bugs go from a user perspective. All fairly typical with a large a complex software project, you will find other DAW's having exactly the same sort of issues going on (just in different areas), but I definitely see there's catch up still to be done... Anyway no showstoppers, that's all I care about mostly. I am running Sonar X3D fine. BTW If somebody wants to ask me what I think the major issues are etc, I will simply point them to my bug thread, to decide for themselves, it is purely subjective and the list is just an attempt. What I write should be taken with a pinch of salt. I look forward to X3E though... (and I'm happy to wait).

I've been spelling it wrong all this time! Whiners! Yea! Whiners!!! and other DAW flamers! Thanks, SuperG... glad to finally get the spelling right for them lazy asse... WHINERS!!! comedic relief for the night is over... gonna go back to playin' around... Now that I've riffed on about 25 vocal takes to a song idea... I'm gonna go try and figure out how to use them controversial new comping take lane tools everyone's yammerin' about...as I was not too active in earlier X versions, I'll just keep an open mind and first watch the vids in one screen and practice on my new vocal riffs...then explore deeper if neede... or maybe I'll just skip the vids and start whining....no... n0.... NO!!!

comedic relief continues! I do love the vids... and as I'm reeeeeaaaaly old and dumb, having it on one screen while I duplicate the actions on another really helps it all sink in... I may learn this stuff for real this time.... BTW, why are we keeping this thread alive?

ok... I'm game! Just spent an hour playing around with the new comping goodies... I'm in luv!!! I really like to vocal vamp and the splitting, slip editing, isolation tool, and the whole shebang is just wonderful... BTW, funny story... so here I have SWA vid on comping up on rt. hand screen... and x3 with a bunch of takes on left screen... and as I'm going along I'm trying to activate the play button on the video screen... OY!!! well maybe not a funny story as so much how dumb I am! love the new tools... never got hooked on the oldies so don't know what the big deal is... and I'm sure there's a way to relable clips/takes... but ain't got that down yet... but the "heal" function, when you make a new clip boundry is totally cool... so much for just one vid! found this out in the groove 3 vid!
