lawp in this forum you have to explicitly:
- say how much you love sonar
- update your sig
- not use asio4all
- not use free VSTs
- defrag you hard drive
- use some third party driver checker
- update windoze
then someone might try & reproduce your issue :)
That is something of a generalisation (understatement). I don't think I have ever asked/done any of the things you list. I have, on the other hand, spent many hours attempting to reproduce issues that people have come across, or helping them sort it out when it is pilot error (a common event). I am far from alone in this. If your post was directed at one person, which it appeared to be, then please have the balls to address them personally, and not hurl monkey poo at everyone around you. Thank you.
these are the most common responses i've been seeing in the forum recently, monkey poo or no

Most of the people who run into "disrespect" tend to fall into the following categories:
1) People who come off as trolls. Obviously sometimes that person is not a troll but often they are.
2) People who jack every thread they can to complain about things that are not even bugs per say but simply a feature they don't like the way is implemented.
3) People who come out swinging with thread titles like "fix your crap" and proceed with a very nasty rant that tells us very little about their problem.
4) The dead horse beater who gets an answer they don't like and starts another thread o the same thing.
The vast majority of people who post a problem usually get people trying to help them or at the very least a sympathetic "me too" and some form of workaround. It is rare when a person comes in who seems like they have an agenda other than bashing the product is simply attacked for no reason.

+1 What he said. Funny how the ones who run into disrespect tend to act disrespectfully. Even worse, they tend to be 'empathetically' challenged, are annoyed by their (fair in-kind) treatment and can't make the connection to their own behavior.

I get it. Nobody likes to feel they got fleeced on a purchase. There is really only one way to handle that feeling for me and that is direct action. The turning the forum into a battleground approach is just asking to be flamed. Plenty of regulars get flamed too but they tend to be people who seem to contribute little except constant complaining and/or make it known they don't even use Sonar. I have been in the situation with other products that some of the people complai ing have been and I simply stopped buying their product. The thought of spending years complaining on their forum about the same thing never occured to me.

clicking the wrong place in the prochannel causing a crash to desktop is not "stable" in anyone's book... there were also bugs with drag/copying fx between bins... and everyone's favourite, the midi-out bug(s)... that's when i stopped blindly paying the yearly-ish subscription... now i'm in anticipation mode...

lawp, you surely reported those issues via Problem Reporter, right? Are the tickets' status still "Submitted to Development" or were the tickets closed when the next version came out? If latter, what message did you receive regarding the ticket closure? Just curious.

ive never had any one of these happen to me. there things in x2 that irritated me, but nothing that made me stop using it do to functionality. matter of fact I like x2 a lot. some thing I wish I could keep the same instead of functions in x3. I don't clone tracks as much as I create another track and drag effects in to another track bin. cant say once I had a problem doing that. as far as "clicking in the wrong place on the PC" don't do that ...lol

I know that last exchange shouldn't amuse me but it does. We can beat this dead horse until we have nice soft leather gloves for all but odds still stay the same on Sonar going back to make changes to X2. The Gibson acquisition makes this even less likely since it is safe to assume they have more interest in going forward than backward.

I'm not going to lie..that sucks droopy yak...well yanno..but its par for the software course. We all face the simple question with every product of whether its worth sticking with the company or not. I have been a loyal sound forge customer for years and I found the latest upgrade to be a joke. Pretty much stripped down izotope plug-ins and integration with another product you have to buy and still 32 bit. I simply said no way and will be skipping this version. I know that's not the feelgood answer and does not make x2 any better for you but not sure what you want from this thread. We sympathize. There are still things I want changed in x3 and likely will be things I dont like about x4...just like every software I have ever used.

lawp i'm still on sf10 ;-)
I'm on 10 and I doubt I will upgrade anytime soon. They will have to make it 64-bit and offer amazing discount to consider it. Not to mention update the 15 year old modules. Acoustic mirror has to be the slowest convolution reverb.
