It'll be what it will be,I want it to be mac version of sonar, seems unlikely.Don't understand why people assume having a macversion would end up shorting the pc users.Propellerhead does it well, ableton does it,protools, and others,fl studio is working on it.

Well it sure got a lot easier when Apple ditched the PowerPC architecture.

The first 3 books in "The Musician's Guide to Home Recording" series are available from Hal Leonard and http://www.reverb.com. Listen to my music on http://www.YouTube.com/thecraiganderton, and visit http://www.craiganderton.com. Thanks!

Oh then if this was all a ploy to get ideas.

Well then, I hope my open source speculation comes as "gee that's a good idea. Ron"  So I could add two calls to the Control Surface API, GetEffectStripNum() and GetProChannelStripNum().

The lack of both calls in the Control Surface API have been overcome here but it took a village, many man hours and lines of code to do it. And yes, it's important to know what strip the control surface ACT focus is when there are many of the same like the Console Emu for example. And as of X2a and beyond, This fx or pc stripnum is not necessarily just the current selected strip now, is it? :-)

Ok, Rant over.

I would like to see some related calls in the API, but these 2... For what that can be good?

There are zero changes to audio configuration in this release that could have caused it. I suspect you had a windows update that caused issues or blocked the update happening properly. Did you restart your PC before trying the update?

Based on the picture used on the first page of Cake's site, I predict a Cakewalk/Serato software package (Serato already have DJ software), along the lines of the brilliant Project5 but more Ableton Live-ish.

And I also predict that there is a 50% chance that I am totally wrong.

I for one would enjoy a little attention to the MATRIX view. The ability to record clips directly into a cell (not unlike Abletodo Live) would be a nice option.  I didn't know much about the ol' Project 5...and I am curious that Cake has been updating/supporting it as recently as 3/31/2016? WHAT?

Agreed.  After reading most of the posts in this 36 page thread, I see lots of users wishing for very personnal and specific changes / improvement to Sonar.  I certainly hope this will be more of a general announcement that will benifit most if not all the users.

In order to fulfill the phrase "make our users happy" the Bakers only need to make two users happy (minimum).

My guess is that the big, huge news won't be anything feature specific at all, but will be all policy. Pricing, support "memberships", new update structure, etc... or something vaguely Image-Line/MAGIX related.

I think this should be synced to Boston time regardless of your own timezone. So this is the time left until June 1 12AM for CW. The second it reaches zero, pitchforks will come out if we haven't heard anything yet.

Sync it to 9:00AM PST and that makes it noon EST which is less likely to bring out the pitchforks, unless it's an Australian

yeah I did. reverted back to previous version. then wookie pm's me about a file. what I noticed was outputs were only showing usb 1 3 7 not any true outputs. so I reloaded the latest update and unchecked "all" input and out put options then it allowed me to start to add the true outputs to my focurite. they were previously shaded out and only allow asio hd audio. which was my laptop speakers only. I'm good now. ;)

It would be nice to see an updated Pyro integrated within Sonar...or a nice new wav editor altogether with a mastering mode that allowed cd markers, and redbook burning.
Whatever it is...it will be icing on the cake. (no pun intended.)
