slartabartfast Maybe I am missing it, but I can't figure out how to filter posts to show only threads that I have contributed to. Very useful in cutting through the new threads to see if followup is needed on a prior post. I have been doing this by forum search with a blank search field by author me, but that is way tedious. I think the most elegant method to do this is turn on subscriptions in your preferences, and then you can easily jump to a list of threads you've posted to by mousing over "Forum Menu" and choosing 'Subscribed Posts'

I haven't read this whole thread, so this has probably been mentioned already. But it really thucks that thubscription and forwarded emails don't contain the full text..... EDIT: And it thucks even more that all pre-update links, in posts and emails, no longer work because the new URL uses tm.aspx instead of fb.asp.

I'm already sick of the verification code. What's the use of them anyway? Get rid of it. Lack of text in the emails is annoying. Now I have to answer one, go through the rest, open and close the tabs for each one to see I wanted to say anything. And the worm tracks ~~~~~~~~~~~~ have got to go. Other than that, the new forum is nice.

Mamabear I don't get email notifications of posts to a thread I've started...until I post in it again. Haven't noticed that action, or any notice of that possibly happening in the email notification. A couple of other forums I participate in are setup such that you only get one email notification of a reply in a thread until I visit the thread again (TC Powercore for one). Hope that doesn't happen here. And one forum I participate in doesn't do email notifications at all - Sony for Soundforge and Acid and there's no option to have email notification either. I think this is the only forum I participate in that uses the aspplayground forum software. Other things that need to be fixed (some of which have been mentioned, but bear repeating): blank emails no 'in reply to' in a thread response the silly notification wording for a message that has been edited slow cursor movement when composing a response

The overall slow performance of the new forum is just intolerable. I think until they get the server up to speed, they should banish the sticky section of the Sonar page. I spend 15 seconds waiting for that section to load every time I go there to see what's new. I bet if the administrator does a before-and-after analysis of the post volume, it's way down since the migration just because it takes so long to navigate.

why is there still the Preivew bug? when I choose to Preview my post, it sometimes gives me a blank window, right after the preview. i then have to rewrite my post, because i didn't use Copy. for any future post i will just submit my post without opting to preview since this has already botched a couple of my posts. btw, i'm using the newest version of Firefox.

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but any link to a topic on the old form no longer works, even links within posts on this board. This is a real pain. I have seen a lot of board upgrades, this always seems like a must. There are 1000s of posts out there with links to other posts, which makes the search even more useless when you get a result with a link in it.

The more I think about it, 'forum enhancement' is a misnomer - enhanced for whom? One has to ask why this was done in the first place, but I don't see that being answered. The best thing would be to go back to the old forum setup, but then again one would have to wonder how bad things would get messed up then. Sorry if this sounds like sour grapes but for me it's the truth.

You can get to them if you manually edit the ".asp" part to ".aspx" or ".ashx", but I really hope they do something about this. -Susan

Marah Hi Susan and Rod. I've found that if you edit the old links and change fb.asp to tm.aspx, they've been working. So they changed it yet again. A couple of days ago if you changed the fb.asp to fb.ashx it would work but now that isn't so; earlier in this thread I mentioned how I was able to get old threads to work from url's in old email notifications but now if you do that, clicking for example on the second, modified url in my previous post in this thread, it just bounces back to this thread. Here it is late Monday East Coast time and Cake hasn't fixed it, despite knowing about this problem for days on end. Methinks they don't know how to fix it, and there's been nothing from Cake on it at all, you know something on the order of: 'we know there's a problem and we're working on it and sorry for the inconvenience'.

I just found a new one Willy. I tried to explain to someone that they need to arm a track for recording using the [M] (S) [R] buttons. Notice that I had to use ( ) for the S and not [ ]. If I put the S in the [ ] it will not show the S and will strike-through everything after it [M] [R] Like this line here. It should show M S R in brackets but only the M and R work. Mike

Mike, that's always happened. The PGD code for strikethrough is s inside [] and then /s inside [] Anything between the two will have the strikethrough applied. However, as with most PGD code, if you only use the first bracket, everything from that point to the end of the post will be affected. It saves you typing the second set of brackets (or Ctr+A & click on the format button) if you want to format a whole post - try typing b inside [] at the start of a post and the whole post will be in bold typeface. Well that sucks. I used to use the []'s on the old forums but I guess that they didn't have this PGD thingy. Thanks Steve. So what is the PGDCode for anyway? When I click on it all I get is a blank screen. I guess I have to watch what I type. Does this code only activate when you use [] or are there other symbols I shouldn't use while typing on the forums. Mike

SteveJL BTW Willy, some of the Links at the bottom of the page are not working, some that I found are "Audio and Midi Interfaces" under Record, "Windows Vista for Musicians" under Learn, "Pyro Audio Creator" under Products, "Audio Mixing" under Produce. Wow, hate to see you guys having to fight these fires, but I guess that's Life in the Digital Age Yet if you click on those same links on the main Cakewalk page (not any of the forum pages) they all go to the right place! I'm rapidly losing patience with the web people on this stuff - no wonder Sonar gets little love from the mainstream music world. Edit for additional material: you know how in the old forum you could stay logged in even if you left the forum and closed down your browser (at least I could)? Do that now and you get logged off - Firefox 3.0.12 on a Mac.
