EDIT: Haha! Just visited your site and saw that you already had this in mind! ;) Looking forward to  SONAR Skin Editor 1.0! AWSOME work Panup! :)

I must correct that Ben Staton is the main programmer of the upcoming Skin Editor. I hang on and try to be useful... :-)

Question - do you ever get time to write music?

i would be willing to beta test it for you if you want me to.to  install the chuckechannel do i need to uninstall darkside.or can i just run the mod?so that way it will be darkside on the trackview and chuckechanel on the console?
This is as easy as you thought:

1) Install darkside
2) Install Lighthouse Console
3) Install chuche a baby Channel.

Darkside must be installed first or otherwise it would overwrite Lighthouse and chuche a baby Channel.

-Panu

I'm curious. How does this work?
The console and the Pro Channel are not seperate dll's, are they?
When you install Lighthouse Console and ChuckeChannel, do you overwrite settings in the darksided TTSRES900.dll ?

ProChannel is built-in SONAR plug-in. It has separate dll files in VSTPlugins folder but those files do not contain any GUI elements, just program code. Actual ProChannel GUI is included in the SONAR's main dll file.

> When you install Lighthouse Console and ChuckeChannel, do you overwrite settings in the darksided TTSRES900.dll ?

Yes, but only some Console View and ProChannel elements. Everything else will remain intact. Lighthouse Console and ProChannel Mods are 'mod Add-ons'.

Lighthouse Console changes only background bitmaps and fader knobs of the Console View. It does not touch any push buttons. It does not change anything outside Console View except minimized Inspector and Browser placeholders and Channel Strip backgrounds in Inspector.

ProChannel Mods replace only background bitmaps (including actual background and static texts) of the ProChannel. Knobs, ON/OFF buttons, icons are left intact. So now you can use for example darkside as basic mod, then replace console with Lighthouse and ProChannel with chuck e babe.

Well... all the time I do mods is away from making music...
Sometimes it's good to do something else than music only (I have no life outside studio and gigs anyway). ;-)

good point..because music is a form of art.and there for you are still creating art with your mods..so im sure it brings you the same enjoyment only one form of art is the ears..the other the eyes..so weather your creating music or mods..its still art.and besides its nice to take a break from doing music all the time im sure.

Hey Panu, I tried Darkside again but with the rounded knobs and the Blue/Orange pro channel, and I have to say I'm kind of digging it. So I'll ponder some more and again, get back to you... but for the moment, that's how my X1 is dressed...

Post count does not matter.  What matters is that I can make something useful that I can share for the SONAR community. People have been kind when I have been asking for help and mods are my gift for all you helpful souls.  I started to make them because I was frustrated of certain things in the GUI. Now 31 mods later I can only laugh for the first Green Mod...

Thank you Panu for offering this wonderful gift that's obviously coming straight from your heart. I as well as all here truly appreciate the time, effort, and passion you've put into this project. I'm sure the Bakers are well aware of your talent (not to mention speed) in the creation process and seeing that all of us use this, I hope they make full use of this talent. You've made my X1 experience so much more enjoyable!!!
Thank you once again....

Hey chuck-e (isn't there a Rickie Lee Jones song about you?) - I kind of like the chuckechannel too, a bit more visible than the blue/orange one. All these nice rich blue tones are looking great with my Alphatrack too!... Gotta get some silver back in there to match the Kore unit too, and I'll be all set...

(edit - actually the light grey left over from the original interface pretty much does the trick there. Looks nice! Maybe I should get back to making some music?)

yes silver and black are to good colors..though black is a hit or miss.like in the high contrast mod..i like it but its a just a little too dark..but honestly it is good sometimes.when im mixing in a well lit area high contrast is great.but in a dark room its hard on the eyes after about 4-5 hours..the thing i like about high contrast is the prochannels..they look vintage like a mackie board.panu never stops amazing me.hes really special for us to have him here.

Maybe something with more contrast so its not so hard to read.

PSYN II is technically easy to mod but GUI looks horrible... too much information in too small window.
I try to make it easier to read.

I would not hold my breath. PSYN II is © 2003-2004 Twelve Tone Systems Inc.  It has not been updated in 7 years.
I'll make a mod for it.

So, Panup - I've registered with your site, read the download guide and have a question.

Do all of the mods/links on the forum page get installed totally independently of each other?

So if I want to install say a dozen of them, I just download & run each one?

you need to download each mod by itself to use that mod.i let panu explain but..say you want darkside..just download darkside on the x1 mods download.put it in the folder ..first make a copy of the trss90.dll then run it as administrator..just read the instructions first..its easy bristol

to answer your question..yes you do..save each one seperately.

Good question and I should think this myself, too! Here is a screen capture of the Download page:

Darkside, Maximum Contrast, Orfeus, Reindeer and Yellowstone
are 'all in one' mods - applying any of them will overwrite nearly all elements.

chuck e baby Channel, Darkwood ProChannel, Lighthouse, Nebula ProChannel, RD, Rounded knobs and Sunburst ProChannel are additive, in other words they will add or replace elements but they'll leave most areas intact.
Bigger Plug-in Manager - Can be used with or without others.
Sonitus:fx: mods, VSTPlugins and MIDI FX  - Can be installed over any mod.

I will write more detailed instructions later. There are already over 30 mods and more is coming...

Looks quite a bit better, though of course you can't do anything about the general clutter. At least the buttons look a bit better and are clearer to read.

ACouple of suggestions:
- 'EG' could be expanded to Envelope to go along with your full-word Oscillator and Filter headings (LFO is fine as it is I think)

- 'Mod Sensibility' should probably read 'Mod Sensitivity' which is what I suspect the SENS on the original is short for. That's a very common mistranslation between English and most other European languages.

- your middle envelope curve should be a curve - it looks just like the third one at the moment...

EG -> Envelope: done.
Mod Sensitivity: corrected. Sorry my bad English :(.
Middle envelope curve is original...

Thanks for read proofing. Now it looks like this (jpg made image a bit fuzzy).

Bank/Program button style is derived from my SONAR mods.
I stopped using PSYN II because I did not undertand anything about the interface. Now I have to give it another chance!

EDIT:
I added Delay and Effects knob texts.
Overdrive, Delay and Effects type should be selected by dropdown menus... Someone send me source code of this program.

Hey Panu, looking good. Your english is quite good, this is a really common mistake that even nearly-perfect english-as-a-second-language speakers I know here in Germany make. I hate to think of the horrendous errors I make in German... and hey, not many of us are making the effort to communicate with you in Finnish, are we?

psst... You only changed one of the 'Sensibility' labels though - there's another one right beside it...

looking forward to this actually - I haven't used Psyn in a few years but if memory serves it actually sounds half-decent! And now it will look a bit better too...

And same in Finnish: Tässä ketjussa olisi 30 katselukertaa, ei 30000, jos olisin aloittanut sen suomen kielellä. :-)
Ich kann auch ein bischen Deutsch scprechen aber nicht genug zu fiessend Kommunikation.

Oh, I did not notice the other Sens label... thanks again.
PSYN II is not as bad as I remembered! I can imagine there are many useful sounds if they're processed with GuitarRig, for example. Preset system sucks or is there somewhere a list if presets?

not sure. Generally the preset systems on all the RGC synths are a bit wonky. But they do sound pretty good...
