Hey Panup, this looks and seems to be working great. Did you make the Arm all tracks buttom green instead of red by mistake? That needs to be red for sure.

Of course it should be red... I take a look on it!
Btw, this patch does NOT have 24/7 customer support! :D

Can you remove the X1a requirement?

Well, in case it is possible to uninstall X1a patch easily. I examine this after fixing the arm button.

I'm not getting bigger plug in manager window. Nor is my Sonitus Gate the Gatekeeper.

I don't see the modified context menu in the track view either.

That is the new rule apparently, and if you don't like your DAW "hacked" don't "hack" it.

New versions are available. Same link as before.
Only fix: Arm all icon color changed.

Sonitus mods need their own patches. Coming later...

Plug-in manager is external program - data comes from different place.
I make a new separate patch for it.

Wow, that was fast! Ok, I should have said this earlier I know, but what about the Input Echo button. It's blue in each track, but green in the Console view and green up top. Can you make it green for the track view as well?

Great job by the way.

New mods available.

Green2_TTSRES90_X1a_64bit.exe
Green2_TTSRES90_X1a_32bit.exe

First you must uninstall the previous mod because thse patches need to write over the original TTSRES90.dll.

Fixes: one input monitoring button color changed.
New: ProChannel got dressed in the spirit of Pultec EQ. Not yet perfect but I update it later (I want to get rid of all black texts).

I remember with Buddy110 faders he had to release new versions when SONAR updates came along as they over wrote the .dll. His replacement dll didn't work with the next SONAR update as it was version dependent

Any chance that you include Buddy's fader and meters in an update. i really like those rounded fader knobs.

Sorry for this  "dumb"  question, but regarding the  .exe / .dll  files you have made, do these simply change colors in various UI / Screens  *or*  do they add some extra buttonsunctionality  ?

Many thx,

What Panup is doing is very, very, very cool.
Furthermore, modding can contribute to the succes of SONAR.

This happened with Rebirth, more than 10 years ago.
Back in the days of Rebirth hackers made modded versions of Rebirth. The possibility of making mods was soon adopted by propellerheads and contributed to the succes of Rebirth. The possibility of modding became a feature.

I say, go ahead, panup!!

Agreed... I think the new style of Sonar is a little bit a kind of "awakening" because of what Propellerheads is doing with Record. Maybe if Cakewalk invest in a more cool aproach with the software things could become more fun and interesting without loose the commitment with quality.

And Panup is the pivot of this "revolution" right now. Really cool.

Peace.

Do the mods increase the contrast with the dark gray text on black?  I really have a hard time with that in my studio because the monitors are further back to make room for a keyboard controller.   I would definitely like to see a lighter gray or even white text to make it easy to read.

Here's a big mod:  Would it be possible to create different "friendly names" for Inputs?  I don't care for how the program sees them but I would rather be able to select M12:1 or M12:2 instead of M12: 1&2 Left or M12:1&2 Right.
I suspect that this can't be done because the text selections are based on variables that could be changed down the line.  But if it could be changed it would really make I/O easier to understand at a glance.

Yes. In general dark grey background is now next to black.  Still under construction but adding contrast is one of my main targets.

Nice suggestion. This should be possible; all text strings are included in the DLL I have modded.  I must find correct 'left' and 'right' string to avoid surprises in the interface. Imagine if Sonar wants to ask you:

- Are you left or right handed?

Becomes

- Are you 1 or 2 handed?

regarding the  .exe / .dll  files you have made, do these simply change colors in various UI / Screens  *or*  do they add some extra buttonsunctionality  ?

I can not (yet) modify the main Sonar EXE file, just the DLL. DLL contains graphics elements, pulldown and context menu texts and layouts, dialog windows and some other stuff. Actual control of the GUI happens in the EXE which is very hard to hack.
For extra buttons, look for SonarX1Helper. It is unbelievable cool program!

I study if it's possible to add more functionality to context menus. Adding extra lines to menus is easy but Sonar should also be able to handle additions.  Maybe I should ask if Ben could capture messages of added items with Helper and forward commands to Sonar! Ben, is that possible?

Meanwhile, keep sending Feature Requests to Cakewalk - they could do all these mods MUCH EASIER if they wanted to.

Hi Panup,
Yes, it's definitely possible with some of the menus (if not all of them, I've only experimented with a handful). The advantage of doing it via Helper is that the menus are modified dynamically at runtime - no tinkering with DLL's required.
Which new menu items are needed? Let me know and I'll look into it.
Nice work by the way!
Thanks,
Ben
