Dave000 Peace to all.. I don't hate the people here I am just annoyed when people can't see what's in front of them... lets see a raze of hand... How many of you said that I was wrong and we already got our 12 updates or that our 12 months worth of updates, and came down on me and others ONCE again???? Praise Marty Moose!
Wow. Willy must have hit a nerve. Your whole last post was mostly 99% crap, so must have that different day heh? You mean, what YOU perceive as to "when people can't see what's in front of them" don't you? No? Thought not. That's the problem with people like you. You think you know better than everyone else. Then you resort to abuse when you don't get your way, or people to bow to your 'superior' intelligence. I couldn't give a toss as to the semantics about the number 12. The simple fact is we get a bargain with Splat, more so than any other version, more so that any other company currently offering this level of DAW. This might be just my opinion but I think it's one hard pressed to either argue with or ignore. Obviously you agree or I could not possibly begin to understand why you here? But you are here, and getting answers, very good answers, from people who work within the company. Highly unusual in itself. Yet you bait with more negative response. That's TROLL behaviour mate, whether you like the term or not. If you don't like the deal, take your 13th update and pay no more. You get to keep it all, forever. Only wish this would happen with Adobe. Then, find a better DAW, with a better deal, with less cultist's. Good luck!!
Well in your Static view why is Sonar maybe 5th in the market when it is the simplest and most powerful DAW on the market?

pwalpwal you do realise that you just fed dave0000000's fire?
You know I'm sitting here laughing and hanging out with my wife this weekend watching movies... Nothing I'm writing is coming from a place of hatred or malice as you just implied from your perception. Which is really an attempt at indirectly calling me maybe the devil or a fire breathing troll... And yes it's really easy to hide behind a computer, safe in your home or (troll cave) in my case and spew insults... but for me I don't like to be ripped off and I'm going to speak my FREE mind as that is my right as an American! and if you might notice the attacks on me from the random few have no cause to even speak to me or talk about me! There in is reviled the Cakeish Cult mentality... I have been talking to Andrew and Willy for my part unless replying to those who speak of me as they will, out of the blue with no real input into what I'm talking about in an attempt to look like good little drones guarding the hive... And as I speak to ALL that this may apply... Do you understand? You are coming at me! I DID NOTHING TO YOU! you can call it feeding the troll all you want but if you don't think that I have been feeding you the entire time then you have no clue about who you are...

Maybe a bit of Mac vs PC, not necessarily product specific as to why Sonar is 5th. Apples and oranges. If you have a Mac, no Sonar without vitrual PC, Then Pro Tools, which I consider a case all its own......There is Reaper, Cubase, and ABleton, but a cursory glance shows they rate highly in different categories. They may or may not be yours, or mine.... IMO Sonar grew out of the CW family and was mainly used by singer/songwriters and nerds likeome who had pcs but wanted to make music. Pro Tools was out of my price range, and still is..... Ranking 5th in and of itself menas nothing. DAW is a very broad category, and Sonar can do some things way better than the competitors.

I don't think Sonar is the "best". It's just what I personally like at this point in time. The "best" is a subjective term when it comes to such things. For some people Cubase or FL or Reaper or even (gasp) PT is the "best" DAW because it suits them and their workflow. That's why those online surveys are ridiculously useless and inaccurate. Some people love Les Pauls. I hate them. Some people love Labbatt's Blue. I think it tastes like donkey sweat. Some people love that Kardashian chick's rear end. I find it ridiculous and mildly terrifying. Different strokes, baby.

Some people like Stratocasters. I have no idea why..Anyone( and you can tell by the numbers of "mfgs"), can build a Lego guitar...and I mean that in the most positive way I can! "Hate" is a bridge too far to cross. I now use "extremely dislike" instead. I could even add "to the nth degree" and still be ok. Some people like big breasts. When the cleavage starts to look more like butt cheeks, THAT is also a bridge too far... ok I've had my fun......{;^)

Well I guess I now have a legitimate reason to truly hate LP's and that's because they are so clunky and heavy they wreck my back causing me very real physical pain. Previously I "disliked" them because of their stupidly fat and ridgid necks, their (to me) excessively brittle tone and... well their weight and balance always bugged me. Thing is most other Gibsons I love. Mostly SG's, V's and ES series models. Just those durned Les Paul. No, sir... I don't like 'em. But I also don't go and troll the various Gibson forums telling everyone they're garbage... because they aren't. I just don't like them. The fat necks and brittle tone work great for some dudes and the music they play. Good on them. And I'm not a huge fan of Strats either... except for maybe really OLD and hyper customized ones.

HERESY!!!! Burn the witch!! LOL... (I don't much like a LP either) They sound good but they hurt my arm and my side. It isn't the weight or the neck for me. I have a 9 pound Strat and one with a soft "V" neck profile... and they don't hurt me. I do like Strats and Suhrs though! Well in your Static view why is Sonar maybe 5th in the market when it is the simplest and most powerful DAW on the market?
Where it sits in the market is irrelevant to me. I would still be with PT if I thought along those lines. But you missed my point entirely. I never said anything about the simplest or most powerful DAW. I said best deal for a DAW of this level. That stands. If your feeling ripped off, then it's not YOUR best deal, so why stay with it? I don't get it. Have I (meaning me) got everything promised for my year's subscription? Yes. It's working better than ever. It's more productive than ever. It's output capability is far better than ever. I can wack songs together in days rather than weeks. Because I know the software, yes, but also because the software and workflow is up to the challenge. But I find the monthly updates too much. Simply don't have the time to keep up. So my question to you is: what more do you want that is going to help you produce music? What more can the company give you that they haven't already, to make you happy? You got answers, and fixes, and I think you simply need to get on with it and start, well, producing music. Rename the studio the 'troll cave'. It does have a nice ring to it you must admit.

On an LP that would be great. But i have a strat with 2 HB's, (american series). It rocks ! Nothing to do with the op........ Cheers Jerry

Gasp! I love my LP. Though, I can see your point about the weight. For me I really like the weight because it balances itself well for me when I've got it strapped on. Though I really miss having the vibrato arm from my Strat for getting nicely close to ripping off My Bloody Valentine sounds. Might get that new Floyd Rose system for tune-o-matic systems, despite my worry over keeping it in tune to blend better with my electronics. But yes... Beepster Different strokes, baby.
Definitely this.

I've had a monthly subscription since January of 2015. I purchased the annual membership at 99.00 and had my monthly charge credited back per instructions from cakewalk. However, it looks like the credit decouples the registration info as I no longer show Sonar Platinum in my product list in my account and it says I don't have any membership products. the Manchester update does not show up in my command center after downloading the latest command center. Clicking on the Check Now button brings up nothing new.
I have turned in a ticket to support, reference# 308129
If I have overlooked something please advise. Thanks much!

Dave000 Well as no one really cares what I think, why bother asking me anything... I believe I have made myself clear!
We all love you, Dave000. I really care what you think. That's not to say I will always agree with your point of view, but I respect yours. Ask away!
